The only ones that had escaped Tristan’s wrath were the glass cabinets filled with high heels. Every ti Tristan waved her hand, she deliberately avoided those cabinets.
After venting for a while, Tristan finally cald down a bit.
Once cald, Tristan furrowed her beautiful brows.
"It seems Mother is quite concerned about the Prophecy Child. What’s going on?"
As the queen’s adopted daughter, Tristan had noticed sothing off about her mother.
"Is it because of that prophecy?" Tristan muttered to herself, saying, "Could Mother really believe in such things? Aren’t they just the foul and filthy words left by the Mirror Clan’s scum before being burnt to ashes?"
As this utterance left Tristan’s lips, a voice suddenly rang out and reached her ears.
"What foul and filthy words are you referring to?"
On hearing this voice, Tristan ca back to her senses.
"Is that you, Beryl?"
Tristan approached a mirror and smiled at the reflection.
It was an entirely different expression compared to the one she showed others.
In front of others, although Tristan always wore a smile, it was an and cruel, as if imbued with a bloody intent to chop off others’ limbs.
But in front of this person, Tristan’s smile was genuinely happy and joyful, as if she was looking at a beloved.
"So you were listening to speak, Spinel!"
Spinel was Tristan’s nickna and term of endearnt for this person.
"I have just arrived as well, Miss Spinel."
The man initially called Beryl by Tristan laughed from within the mirror.
Upon closer inspection, he was a man dressed like a bartender, with slicked-back hair, a lean and tall figure, appearing as if he belonged to the underworld.
The man seed to be conversing with Tristan remotely through so sort of magic or magical artifact. Seeing Tristan smiling happily at him, he too showed a bright expression.
"It seems the eting in Calot today still failed to satisfy you, Miss."
The handso man known as Beryl Gate laughed like this.
"Don’t ntion it." Tristan’s discontent rose again as she puffed her cheeks and said, "Mother didn’t even look my way nor speak to ."
"That’s unfortunate." Beryl consoled, "But it’s alright, Miss Spinel. Queen Morgan must have deliberately ignored you in public because it was not a place to show concerns frankly. It’s not that she doesn’t care about you."
"Really?" Tristan’s eyes brightened as she continued, "Is that truly why Mother didn’t speak to ?"
"Of course." Beryl affird, "After all, she is the Queen of Britannia. If she were to reveal her private feelings in such a setting, she would be criticized by those fairies. We have to consider your mother’s position."
"Mother would never be criticized." Tristan countered, "Those trash fairies are terrified of Mother; how could they ever have the audacity to criticize her?"
"You’re not wrong there." Beryl nodded in agreent but added, "Even so, she still has to maintain the dignity of a queen. Try to understand her."
"...Well, you have a point." Tristan begrudgingly said, "Alright, I’ll find another opportunity to have a private mont with Mother later."
"That’s the spirit." Beryl looked pleased and then shifted the topic, "I heard that the Tusk Clan found the Chosen Child. Is that true?"
"What?" Tristan was montarily taken aback, her voice tinged with confusion, "Are you also interested in the Prophecy Child, Spinel?"
"Sort of." Beryl shrugged helplessly, "It’s not so much the Prophecy Child I’m interested in, but the otherworldly magician."
Beryl’s words reminded Tristan of one of the lines from the Mirror Clan’s prophecy.
"’The chosen staff shall lead them, the traveler from afar shall watch, the Redeeming Child shall reach the jade throne’."
This "traveler from afar" referred to the otherworldly magician ntioned by Beryl.
It was said that an otherworldly magician would accompany the Prophecy Child, assisting him (or her) to ascend to the throne.
Belley was particularly attentive to this matter and had even once warned the Queen, claiming that the otherworldly magician was an invader from outside, an enemy of the Fairy Country Britannia, who must be guarded against.
Tristan, however, wasn’t much concerned.
"I think you and Mother are both too anxious; there’s no need for that." Tristan murmured, "What kind of Prophecy Child is that? How could such an inexplicable person ever defeat Mother?"
"And you, Spinel, why care so much about that otherworldly magician?"
"Anyhow, such an incomprehensible person couldn’t possibly be a match for you, right?"
Tristan’s words led Beryl to smirk with significance.
"Maybe." He didn’t deny it but simply said, "Actually, I’m not really interested in that otherworldly magician."
As he spoke, Beryl lowered his head.
"It’s his companion that interests ."
Tristan didn’t catch that sentence clearly.
She only heard another one.
"Keep an eye on the Prophecy Child for , Miss Spinel." Beryl spoke cheerfully, "I’ve got sothing I want to do, is that okay?"
Tristan pouted but eventually nodded in agreent.
And so, the brewing storms began to rage.
The unrest in Fairy Country Britannia had comnced.
