Sinyale, the abandoned warehouse district.
This is an abandoned warehouse street located on the urban edge.
This warehouse street was originally used to stockpile various foodstuffs and alcoholic beverages that were scarce in the desert, but after nurous large-scale attacks from underground forces, the stockpiled goods had been plundered more than once. Consequently, the warehouse street was abandoned by the City Lord’s Mansion and no longer used for storage.
As a result, the warehouse street beca a lawless zone in Sinyale, often exploited by underground forces for illegal gatherings, trade, or even as a place where they could engage in unrestrained battles within Sinyale. The ground here was stained with dark bloodstains at intervals, presenting a particularly chilling scene.
The City Lord’s Mansion had once dispatched people to guard and patrol the area, but these enforcers were invariably wiped out by so unknown underground force, causing the City Lord to rage furiously on many occasions.
Nevertheless, the City Lord’s Mansion couldn’t afford to station Oasis Knights in such a place for the long term, lest it squander precious high-end combat capabilities. Consequently, over ti, the City Lord’s Mansion also gave up managing this area, allowing its chaos and darkness to go unchecked.
Today, within this abandoned warehouse street, a skirmish erupted.
The conflict was between two factions.
Both factions were clearly out of the ordinary, each with nurous mbers—no fewer than several dozen, all fully ard and imposing in stature, indicating their substantial strength.
Other forces were present as well, but they were currently observing the skirmish from a distance, not intervening in the clash between the two major factions.
Of course, although it was said that two significant factions were engaged in battle, in reality, only two individuals were actually fighting.
One was a Magician, and the other a Swordsman; one was relentlessly casting magic attacks like an unfeeling artillery battery, while the other wielded a long sword, weaving through the barrage of magic attacks, closing in on his adversary.
"Kill him!"
"Slaughter that arrogant bastard!"
"Don’t let them return alive!"
"Co on, Captain!"
"Co on, Leader!"
The two opposing factions faced each other from a distance, clearly the forces under the command of the two combatants. They were continuously shouting, revealing their ferocious nature.
The two fighters engrossed in the skirmish were entirely unaffected, especially the Magician, who cast spells with an icy deanor, whipping magic flas into a stormy fury that bombarded the sidetracks of the warehouse street.
"Bang!"
The potent magic flas blasted away a corner of the street, with the explosion engulfing the area, scorching the ground into charred earth and emitting intense heat.
"Tch!"
The Swordsman, pressured by the magic flas, had no choice but to leap aside, increasing the distance from his magic-wielding adversary, his face deathly grim.
"Hand over the item."
The Magician spoke coldly, confident of taking the upper hand.
"Dream on!" growled the grim Swordsman, spitting disdainfully and saying, "Once it’s in my hands, nobody can take it away!"
"Don’t be so sure," the Magician responded emotionlessly. "You can’t handle that item, Kammon."
"You think I’m easily scared, Yade?" retorted the grim Swordsman with a sneer. "I doubt my ’Dragon Horn’ is inferior to your ’Play Magician’!"
The Magician fell silent and raised his hand once more, initiating another magic attack.
The grim Swordsman charged again, rushing toward the Magician’s position.
The two combatants, each possessing strength not inferior to that of a seasoned Swordsman, engaged in heated combat, spurring on more frenzied cheering from both factions.
Such a situation naturally attracted more and more people to the area, with an increasing number of factions arriving, almost filling the entire surroundings of the warehouse street.
"Swoosh!"
At a certain mont, Reiger, draped in a cloak, and Liz appeared out of thin air.
They landed atop a container-like decrepit warehouse, overlooking the strife in the strepasserbys, their deanor one of indifference.
"What... what are they doing?"
Liz blinked, utterly clueless.
"A case of the pot calling the kettle black?"
Reiger seed to discern sothing, his interest in the fight waning.
There were many people present in the warehouse street—all tough-looking characters who were obviously not to be trifled with—likely either part of the Underground forces or violent rcenaries.
Those not affiliated with these groups, or individuals without backing, were like Reiger and Liz, assuming the role of observers and taking position atop the surrounding buildings to watch the conflict unfold.
Observing this scene, Reiger gained an initial understanding of the chaos within Sinyale.
If all those who ca to this place belonged to one faction or were operatives dwelling in the Underworld, it wasn’t surprising that Sinyale’s underground forces could balance against the official forces represented by the City Lord’s Mansion.
There was no helping it; there were simply too many people here, and each possessed extraordinary strength. At the very least, they all had the capability of Lv. 3-Lv. 4, equivalent to a rank 5 Swordsman or a rank 6 seasoned Swordsman, forging a trendously formidable force.
Even a Sword Saint would find it a headache to face this force, so it was understandable if the City Lord of Sinyale was unable to swiftly eliminate the city’s darkness and chaos.
