Volu 2, Chapter 86: An Unexpected etings.
"From ashes to ashes, light to light, crimson fla," Lucius said, his brows furrowed tightly as he stood in his room with both hands held out in front of him.
With Su not back yet, he had decided to use the opportunity to try and learn more spells to add to his arsenal.
He continued to stare at his hands with strained eyes, his palms trembling.
"Guah!" He let out a frustrated breath as nothing happened.
Feeling defeated, he made his way to his bed and sat down with a thump.
"Guess I can’t bypass the book’s instructions. If it says I need components for sothing, I really need to get them, then," Lucius said with a helpless sigh, massaging his forehead.
For a second back then, he had believed it would have actually worked, but alas, it seed he’d overestimated himself. Although he possessed a seemingly immortal ability, that appeared to be the only unique thing about him—as far as he could tell, anyway.

After calming his nerves and catching his breath from trying so hard, he approached a drawer at his desk and pulled out a piece of parchnt paper, an ink container, and a feathered quill.
He retrieved the grimoire and wrote down the ingredients it required for the spell.
"There, all done." Finished, he rolled up the paper, placed it in his pocket, and walked out of his room. He walked through the hallway before finally chancing upon a servant of the household.
"Young master," the maid, who resembled an anthropomorphic dog, politely bowed upon seeing him.
"Here." Lucius didn’t stand on ceremony; he simply handed her the piece of parchnt. "Have everything on that list brought to my quarters as soon as possible," he said, taking out sothing else as well—a gold coin, which he flicked toward her with his thumb.
"As you wish, young master." The maid caught the coin with one hand while holding the paper in the other. She bowed her head once more before leaving.
He watched her vanish behind a corner before turning around and returning to his room.

In another part of the capital, in a less luxurious area, was a building that housed a small group of won.
"Snow, would you be a dear and hand the at?" said lissa, who was busy preparing dinner for the group.
Snow, who was helping wash the dishes in the kitchen, nodded with a smile. "Of course, Mother."
She handed her the already-washed at in a sieve.
"Thank you, dear," lissa said with a smile while taking the at from her.
Snow soon finished the dishes but, rather than leaving, offered to help with the al. lissa, of course, tried to stop her but ended up giving in under her constant pestering.
Once the food was done, the duo took it upon themselves to set the dining table.

"Oh? You’re already done?" lissa said to Emily, who was coming down the stairs.
Emily had a handkerchief tied over her nose and mouth, as well as so cleaning gloves on. She had so dust on her face, which made her look comical, since she had just finished cleaning up around the house.
"I’ll go clean myself up and co back later," said Emily.
"Okay, dear, we’ll be waiting," lissa said with an amused chuckle before glancing at Snow, who was coming back from the front door.
"Any signs of the both of them?"
"No... They’re still not back yet," Snow said with a hint of dejection in her voice.
"Hmm... Maybe sothing’s held them back. I’m sure they’ll be back soon enough," said lissa, trying to remain positive.
I sure hope so, Snow thought to herself.
Knock, knock... The two of them suddenly heard a knock at the door.
"Oh? I guess they’re back sooner than expected," said lissa.
Snow, on the other hand, had already made her way to the door; one could see the visible eagerness on her face as she pulled back the door.
"Welco ho, darling..." she said with obvious enthusiasm, yet her voice trailed off when she saw the person at the door.
Rather than her husband, the man she saw could be described as quite handso, with silky smooth golden hair and chiseled features, yet a calm face that made one feel the need to compose themselves before him.
The man she saw was none other than Lucius.
"Sorry if we startled you, but could we co in?" Sensing the silence between the two, Su, who felt nervous, decided to erge from behind Lucius.
"Who are you two?" Regaining a bit of composure, Snow finally asked. The fact that the man looked nothing like her husband left a dissatisfied taste in her mouth. Even if he was quite the looker, she still didn’t know him or his associate.
"My apologies for the late introduction, my lady." This ti, it was Lucius who spoke up. He took Snow by surprise when he courteously held her hand and bent down to give it a soft, gentle kiss of acknowledgent. "I’m afraid I was simply too stunned by your beauty that I forgot to say a word."
"Lucius Morningstar," he revealed his identity. "A pleasure to et you."
"The pleasure is all yours..." Snow quietly retracted her hand with a light frown between her brows. "You still haven’t told what it is you’re doing here."
"Ah, again, I am terribly sorry," Lucius said. Su, on the other hand, was intrigued by her young master’s actions, since he hadn’t acted out yet. Even his choice of words had surprised her; that tone was the sa one he’d used on...
"..." she thought to herself, a strange feeling welling up in her chest. One she hadn’t expected to feel before when faced with such a situation.
While awaiting his answer, Snow had already spotted the two guards watching them intently from various spots across and on their side of the street.
Just from that, she could tell that the two Infront of her weren’t as simple as they seed.
