[Innate Technique].

It was a mysterious inborn power with no concrete shape in the real world.

Ancient clergy imagined this power as talismans used to exorcise evil spirits and subdue demons. They used the concepts of Onmyōdō to define [Innate Technique], and from that foundation gradually built the ancient jujutsu system.

That naturally gave rise to a whole set of auxiliary thods, such as chanting incantations, forming hand seals, and ditating.

These thods looked profound and unfathomable, like supernatural powers unique to human beings, as though they could conjure so other imnse force out of thin air.

But that was not actually the case.

All of those auxiliary thods existed only to help sorcerers better understand the existence of [Innate Technique], and to deepen their sense of identification with it, so they could fully grasp that mysterious power.

Why did chanting incantations increase the power of a technique?

Because those chants were the keywords a sorcerer used to define their own [Innate Technique], to define that mysterious power itself.

For example, when Satoru Gojo fully used [Hollow Technique: Purple], he would chant [Nine Ropes, Polarized Light, Between Front and Back].

[Nine Ropes] ant transcending all the laws of the world and standing above the eight principles, declaring the absolute power of the technique.

[Polarized Light] ant the pivot that twisted space and altered the boundary between the real and the unreal. It was the key trigger for activating the Limitless Technique.

[Between Front and Back] ant the boundary between front and back, false and real, inside and outside. It was the core zone where space folded and laws warped, and also the singularity where Hollow Technique: Purple erupted.

That was Satoru Gojo's absolute understanding of the [Limitless Technique]. With three simple, easy-to-grasp incantations, he completely defined the concept of that mysterious power, allowing it to break free of abstraction and descend into the real world.

Because human beings were fundantally incapable of perceiving sothing that did not exist in the real world at all.

So humanity invented writing. Invented language. And used concepts of its own making to imprison this power from another dinsion.

What Naoya Zenin wanted to do was very simple.

He wanted his students to discard the fixed mindset of ancient jujutsu and rebuild their own understanding of [Innate Technique].

"I know that for more than ninety percent of you, the mont you think of [Innate Technique], the image that appears in your mind is definitely a talisman."

Naoya Zenin looked at the students with their eyes tightly shut and paced beside them.

"But that image is completely wrong! Talismans do not help you understand your own [Innate Technique] any better. If you need complicated incantations just to understand your own [Innate Technique], then you've already lost badly to others from the very starting line!"

"Don't try to understand [Innate Technique]. Feel [Innate Technique] instead! Use your soul to feel that power!"

That kind of demand was not easy for the students to accept right away.

After all, most of them had been raised on the teachings of ancient jujutsu since childhood. When they imagined [Innate Technique], what always ca to mind was a Heian-era Onmyōji, talismans capable of calling wind and rain, with their own [Innate Technique] recorded on them.

Because that was the easiest way to understand it.

Like taking notes, the first thing that ca to mind was a notebook. All you had to do was flip through a few pages to understand what the technique did, and then there was no way you could go wrong.

But Naoya-sensei was saying they should not try to understand it, and should instead feel it with their souls...?

If they did not give an abstract concept so concrete form, then would that not be like a blind man feeling an elephant, or a headless fly blundering around at random?

Momo Nishimiya kept her eyes tightly shut.

Unlike the Kyoto people around her, she had grown up in the West and received a Western education. Although she had also studied ancient jujutsu, her way of thinking was completely different from everyone else's, which made it easier and faster for her to accept new ideas.

The first thing she thought of was a circuit diagram.

If [Innate Technique] was a circuit, then Cursed Energy was the electricity flowing through it, and what ca out when the current ran was her Cursed Technique.

In the little witch's ntal world, the circuit diagram slowly spread open.

The fine lines of [Innate Technique] crossed over one another in dense layers. Cursed Energy was no longer so vague, formless current. It had beco electric flow surging along fixed routes.

Every movent of Cursed Energy was like a switch closing.

Precise. Calm. Without a trace of unnecessary emotion.

So saw flas. So saw flowing water. So saw weapons. So saw ghosts and gods.

What Momo Nishimiya saw was a complete modern circuit diagram, intricate, cold, and efficient.

She no longer needed to silently recite long incantations. She no longer needed to deliberately recall what her technique did. All she had to do was lightly [close the switch] in her mind.

In the next instant, Cursed Energy erupted!

There was no flashy chant, no complicated hand seals. Only a crisp, clean force pouring out along with her will!

"My Cursed Energy output efficiency... it's gone up by at least twice!"

Momo Nishimiya opened her eyes in disbelief.

Her total amount of Cursed Energy had only ever been average. But after this kind of ditation training, simply circulating her Cursed Energy now produced a considerable amount of cursed pressure.

Her total Cursed Energy had not changed at all.

But the power it displayed far surpassed her old self.

That ant Momo Nishimiya's Cursed Energy output efficiency had undergone an unimaginable leap in a single instant.

"Not bad. You're the first one to do it, and the way you built it was extrely clean and efficient. How do you feel now?"

Naoya Zenin checked the result and, unusually, praised her.

"I feel unbelievably relaxed, and using my technique feels much easier now!"

The little witch looked proud.

"And I can very clearly feel that my connection to [Tool Manipulation] has beco much stronger!"

But then Momo Nishimiya added a little cautiously, "But Naoya-sensei, when it cos to the [Cursed Technique Reversal] and [Reverse Cursed Technique] you ntioned, I honestly have no clue at all."

Of course you do not. Your talent just is not good enough.

Naoya Zenin sighed inwardly, but aloud he still comforted her.

"Revisualizing [Innate Technique] does not an you will definitely master those advanced jujutsu techniques. On the contrary, for most people, nothing that dramatic will happen."

The teacher then raised his voice to all the students still concentrating intently.

"But as long as you successfully visualize [Innate Technique] using this thod, you can greatly improve your Cursed Energy output efficiency. That feeling is incomparable."

"I'm not asking you to master [Cursed Technique Reversal] and [Reverse Cursed Technique] all in one go during this class. But every student must successfully revisualize [Innate Technique]. The ti you take will be your class grade for today!"

"Te-Teacher..."

Kasumi Miwa finally could not hold it in anymore.

The blue-haired girl opened her eyes, her face full of despair.

"Does my ti count too?"
