We interrupt this Chapter to inform the reader that this should be the last set of these weird triplet Chapters.
We apologize if this format was confusing to any of our regulars or newcors; the writer of this work was trying sothing new.
Regardless, we will now return to your regularly scheduled Chapter, where our protagonist finally gets to the mont he has been waiting for for several hours now.
Thank you.
...
Alright, that’s what you’re apologizing for? Not our wonky-ass schedule as of late?
| Burnout is real; that is all. |
Fair...

[Is Caretaker and Miss Jinju done with this honeypot date yet?] Corpse Doll asked out of boredom. [I thought they would’ve stabbed them in the eyes by now.]
[Not yet, dear sister,] Porcelain Doll answered. [From what I can see, they’re going to be finishing dessert before Caretaker even has a chance at touching that manual.]
[Hmmm.]
[Huh? What’s up, Blazejudicator?]
[I’m going to transmit an idea I just had to the Executor. Going to see if we can just use that as an excuse to secure the manual and not have to deal with even more of...whatever the fuck this is...]
...
Shortly after i Yue (Zhen Liu) and Ren Jia (Jinju Ren) confird that the distant explosion had nothing to do with them quite yet, they imdiately finished "powdering their noses" and got back to the dinner table with Alain and Alder.
By the ti the girls had returned, the used dishes had been cleared away and the cutlery for dessert had been placed out.
^Ah, welco back, ladies.^
^Sorry for taking so long,^ Ren Jia said in an apologetic tone of necessary politeness.
^Oh, no worries,^ Alain replied with equal etiquette. ^I have sisters; I’m aware of the ti taken when they make use of the washroom.^
At this comnt, both Ren Jia and i Yue shared a glance that had them wondering if they should’ve found the comnt offensive or if this was a failed attempt to sound relatable.
Either way, once the girls returned to their seats, the guys continued their (ultimately futile) attempts to charm, woo, and generally forge so form of connection with them.
Honestly, under any other circumstances, these actions would’ve worked wonders. Against a dragon princess who already had a fiancee and a girl who was actually a guy under all of that make-up and magical body-changing energies, though, these advances were worse than useless. In fact, it was downright detrintal.
Regardless, once dessert had finished, the opportunities for i Yue and Ren Jia to get their hands on the manual would drop by a massive degree.
There were several attempts that were done beforehand by the duo to try and get the manual during the al, with even one mont where Ren Jia just asked in a straightforward manner. Alas, that didn’t work.
Alain had managed to provide an incredibly elegant refusal, saying sothing along the lines that it was considered rude to suddenly read during a al, especially when the reading material in question was the secret manual of a powerful cultivator.
^Bringing out such potent inspiration in a public setting like this would attract unwanted attention. Besides, can you imagine what could happen if any one of us tried to cultivate its secrets and found ourselves to be incompatible? The consequences could be catastrophic!^
^That’s...fair...^
In that exact mont, i Yue couldn’t help but feel that that comnt may have been personal...but there was no way that was the case...she hoped.
Either way, dessert turned out to be a delightful affair, with i Yue being only caught mildly off-guard by ice cream cake existing on Valresta and also incredibly fucking fruitless.
Well...fruitless in the sense that while Ren Jia and i Yue couldn’t co up with jackshit in order to secure that fucking manual, Blazejudicator had a rather effective one.
Sort of.
It was better than nothing.
...Wait, what kind of plan? ...
[Executor, I know you’re busy pretending to be a woman, but may I make a suggestion on how you can secure the manual for a brief mont?]
’Weird way to start a conversation, but I’ll bite. What do you have in mind, Blazedjudicator?’
[The issue at this mont is that neither you nor Mistress Ren are able to secure the manual because the attention of both Alain and Alder is focused squarely on the two of you,] Blazejudicator pointed out. [Granted, that is the point of having a date inside of a private room, so you and her were at a disadvantage since the beginning.]
’Okay Blazejudicator, get to the point please.’
[Well, Alain is probably on the lookout for anybody that can use Chaos or Dragonforce, since those are the two main ways that can injure him, right?]
’Yeah...’
[Don’t you think his attention would be drawn by a sudden surge of either energy happening near him?]
’That...huh. Why didn’t I think of that earlier?’
[I believe you were too worried about accidentally alerting Alain to your prescence in the city, but honestly, that may not matter at this point. Especially with what’s going on elsewhere...]
’Wait, what? I was so focused on dealing with this present bullshit that I haven’t checked on the others. What’s going on?’
[Honestly, just wait until after you secure the manual, Executor.]
’I...fair enough.’
...Ah yes, flash and dazzle...
^Well, that was a wonderful al, and this was a lovely evening. Would you do the honor of escorting you back to your inn? Or rather, wherever you plan to et with the rest of your cohorts?^
^ That...would be delightful. Thank you.^
^Of course.^
It should be noted that during that slight pause in Ren Jia’s response, she had directed a questioning gaze in i Yue’s direction on whether or not she should agree. When she got approval, she just went along with it.
With the al now finished and the check settled, the group proceeded to exit the private dining room in an orderly manner.
Hermit Zhong Wei, who had been waiting patiently outside of the room this entire al, directed a questioning gaze towards his disciple and the fiancee of his disciple to see if they achieved whatever goal they were aiming for.
"..."
"..."
A silent exchange of gazes told him all that he needed to know; as such, he positioned himself appropriately behind the group.
The group had to walk through the restaurant’s main hall again in order to exit the venue properly; as such, they were once again able to see in full view the open-air kitchen in which the invited chef was still working their culinary magic.
However, unlike when i Yue and the others had first entered the building, the performance being displayed here at this ti wasn’t going to be as smooth as before.
Because as the group made their way through the hall, a small little spark suddenly leapt off of i Yue’s fingers and began to run towards the center stage kitchen.
This spark, of course, was a shrunken-down version of Blazejudicator.
[I really need to invest in invisibility-based abilities,] Blazejudicator complained as he skittered across the floor, narrowly avoiding getting stepped on multiple tis.
Once the tiny judge of flas reached the center firepit, where the main chef was making use of his innate flas to cook what appeared to be a weird-looking chicken, Blazejudicator reached out a small hand towards the pit and began to channel his [Chaos] into it.
As the energy flowed into the fire pit, overtaking the influence of the chef’s aether, the flas inside of the pit began to act...strange. Evidently, in a rather noticeable manner.
^Eh? What’s going on with my stove?^
[Apologies, sir, but I will at least make sure that you won’t burn your current dish at least.]
^What in the na of—BAH!^
Before the chef could properly investigate the flas, a sudden surge of force knocked the pan in his hand backward, pushing him back from the stove. Once the chef was several dozen feet away from the cooking area, the fires in the pit suddenly surged upwards into a column and began to burn in a collage of colors. Not only that, but the colored flas were radiating a power that clearly wasn’t related to aether.
^What the hell?!^
^What the fuck?!^
^Why, am I cursing more?^
~No way...~
This sudden fire show caused most of the patrons in the restaurant to stop and stare at the blaze, out of a mix of concern and surprise. However, none of them reacted in a negative manner due to not sensing any imdiate danger coming from the flas. Hell, they didn’t sense any aether, so they assud that the chef in question must’ve used so mundane trick to cause the conflagration.
However, to one specific individual in the restaurant, this sudden flare up caused them to imdiately go on guard.
Granted, raising one’s guard to such a degree against outside forces makes one surprisingly vulnerable to movents from those they consider "friendly."
In other words, since Alain was too focused on the fire before him, he was fully unaware of i Yue’s hand lightly touching the [Rainbowsmith’s Manual].
...
=The current Kaijin Lord is now free to remove their hands and perform other tasks.=
’FUCK YEAH!’
