....

The bedroom scene had already stretched longer than expected.

Not because anyone was struggling.

Actually the opposite.

The chemistry between Karuppu and Neetu Chandra had beco so natural during the scene that even the crew had unconsciously stopped interrupting the flow unless necessary.

The atmosphere inside the bedroom set remained soft and intimate:

dim yellow bedside lamp,

slow fan rotation,

faint rain ambience playing outside the window,

And the quiet comfort of a married couple slowly dissolving into affection after playful teasing.

The scene itself had started lightly.

Mock argunts.

Double aning jokes.

Priya pretending annoyance.

Manohar irritating her intentionally just to get reactions.

Then slowly… The teasing disappeared.

The emotional warmth took over naturally.

And finally the scripted intimacy began.

At first everything remained completely professional.

Cara angles. Expressions.

Timing. Movents.

All carefully controlled.

But sowhere during the take…

Both actors beca too imrsed in the emotional flow of the scene itself.

"...."

"...."

The natural chemistry that Vikram Kumar wanted suddenly beca too natural.

Behind the monitor,

Vikram Kumar watched carefully at first with satisfaction.

"...."

The emotions were landing perfectly.

The closeness looked believable.

Nothing felt artificial.

Exactly what he wanted.

Then finally the emotional peak of the scene arrived.

Vikram imdiately raised his hand.

"Cut!"

But neither Karuppu nor Neetu reacted.

At first Vikram assud they simply hadn't heard properly because of the emotional montum of the scene.

"...."

So he shouted again.

"CUT!"

Still nothing.

Now a few assistant directors awkwardly exchanged looks.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Because the two actors were very clearly still fully imrsed in the mont, continuing the affectionate make-out naturally without breaking character at all.

One lightman imdiately looked away respectfully like he had accidentally walked into private territory.

anwhile Vikram's eyes widened.

"Aiyo1!"

"CUT CUT CUT!"

This ti he practically yelled the word repeatedly while standing up from the monitor chair.

Even the sound assistant started laughing helplessly seeing the situation spiral.

Finally after several seconds—Reality returned.

Karuppu blinked first.

-Blink!

Then Neetu slowly realized the entire set had gone completely silent around them.

Both imdiately pulled back slightly and looked at each other awkwardly for one brief mont.

"...."

"...."

Then toward the crew.

The expressions waiting there nearly killed them instantly.

Assistant directors trying not to laugh.

Cara operators looking emotionally traumatized especially being a single middle aged man.

One junior artist staring at the ceiling fan like it contained life answers.

And at the center of it all—Vikram Kumar stood breathing heavily after screaming "cut" nearly ten tis continuously.

-Huff! -Huff!

"...."

An assistant quickly handed him a glass of water.

Vikram took it dramatically like a man who had narrowly escaped death.

For a few seconds nobody spoke.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Then finally Vikram pointed toward both of them while drinking water.

-Gulp!

"Another five seconds …and this would've beco different genre film completely."

The entire set exploded laughing imdiately.

Even Karuppu lost control laughing while Neetu buried her face briefly in embarrassnt.

Unfortunately for her dignity…

She was still sitting on his lap when everyone started laughing.

Which only made the situation worse.

"Aiyo1 get up first! Mrs. Priya."

One assistant director shouted jokingly from behind.

Neetu imdiately smacked Karuppu's shoulder before quickly standing up laughing uncontrollably herself now.

anwhile Karuppu raised both hands innocently.

"Director wanted natural chemistry."

Vikram nearly threw the water bottle at him.

"Not National Geographic mating docuntary!"

The whole room completely lost composure after that.

Even the usually serious cinematographer sat down laughing.

anwhile Karuppu and Neetu themselves couldn't stop laughing either because the awkwardness had beco too ridiculous now.

Still…

Once the chaos settled slightly, Vikram quietly replayed the shot in the monitor again.

And honestly? The emotional intimacy had co out beautifully.

Warm. Natural.

Comfortable around them.

Exactly like a real married couple.

No artificial glamour. No forced sensuality.

Just emotional closeness.

Finally Vikram leaned back and sighed dramatically.

"Okay …scene is excellent."

Then imdiately pointed at both of them again.

"But next ti when I say cut …RETURN TO HUMAN SOCIETY FOR MY HEART SAKE."

With the final bedroom sequence completed and the entire crew finally relaxing after weeks of tension-filled shooting…

13B Shooting had been officially wrapped.

The announcent itself brought loud applause across the apartnt set.

Assistant directors clapped tiredly.

-Claps!

Lightn leaned back against walls in relief.

Cara operators stretched their stiff shoulders.

Even the makeup team looked emotionally exhausted after maintaining the sa tense atmosphere for weeks continuously.

Unlike comrcial films where wrapping days usually exploded with loud music and dancing…

This celebration felt smaller.

Warr.

Like a group of people who had quietly survived sothing together.

Especially because most of the film had been shot inside confined apartnt spaces.

Day after day.

Sa corridors. Sa rooms. Sa eerie television sounds.

By the end, even the crew jokingly admitted they were scared of elevators now.

anwhile the producers had arranged a small wrap-up dinner for everyone involved in the project.

Long tables had been arranged downstairs near the apartnt parking area itself where food packets, biriyani vessels, soft drinks, and sweets had already arrived.

The sll of fresh chicken biriyani spread through the evening air imdiately.

Junior artists practically attacked the food line first.

One assistant director loudly shouted.

"Please leave sothing for hero also!"

Karuppu, anwhile, stood slightly away from the crowd near the apartnt balcony talking on his mobile phone.

And just like always…

The call was from Lakshmi.

No matter how famous he beca:

World Cup hero,

successful actor, or national-level celebrity,

His mother's first concern remained exactly the sa.

"Did you eat?"

Karuppu leaned casually against the railing while smiling softly.

"Ama ma…1"

"I ate."

Lakshmi still sounded unconvinced from the other side.

"Properly ah? Or just tea and biscuits like your father?"

Karuppu imdiately looked offended despite nobody seeing him.

"I have human rights in this house."

From nearby, one assistant overhearing the conversation nearly laughed because the terrifying cricket celebrity currently sounded exactly like a scolded schoolboy.

Lakshmi anwhile continued questioning him seriously.

"Should I send food from ho? Karthi is here only."

Apparently Karthi had remained at ho today after finishing one of his etings earlier.

Karuppu chuckled softly hearing that.

-Chuckle!

"No need ma1. Today shooting wrapped. The producers arranged small party for everyone."

Then with exaggerated pride he added.

"I already filled my stomach fully."

Lakshmi imdiately replied suspiciously:

"That ans only biriyani."

Karuppu blinked caught off guard by how quickly his mother had guessed.

-Blink!

"How are mothers detecting these things?"

From the other side, he could practically hear her smiling now.

After a few more minutes of normal conversation:

reminding him to sleep properly,

asking about California docunts,

warning him not to skip als,

And casually complaining that he rarely stayed ho nowadays,

the call finally ended.

Karuppu slowly lowered the phone and looked around the set one more ti.

For a few quiet seconds…

The atmosphere hit him properly. This strange apartnt.

This eerie story. This small crew.

Sohow, despite being such a controlled production compared to Aadhavan…

He had genuinely enjoyed this film deeply.

Because unlike larger comrcial projects where everything constantly moved loudly…

13B felt intimate. Focused.

Every actor. Every technician. Every scene.

Everyone had worked believing in the story itself.

And that feeling was rare.

anwhile Vikram K Kumar slowly approached him carrying a paper plate in one hand.

The director himself looked visibly lighter now that the film was finally complete.

Weeks earlier, nervousness had constantly sat on his face.

Now relief dominated instead.

"You escaped before I gave another night shoot,"

Vikram joked tiredly.

Karuppu imdiately shook his head seriously.

"No man. Today itself ntally I vacated apartnt."

That made Vikram laugh.

"-Haha!!!"

Then after a small pause, his expression softened slightly.

"Thank you."

Karuppu looked at him quietly.

Vikram continued honestly telling about how others addressed this project.

"A lot of people told this project was risky. They said nobody would co for psychological horror."

"Especially after your comrcial success."

He looked around the now slowly dismantling set.

"But you trusted it."

Karuppu remained silent for a mont before replying casually.

"Good stories are always risky."

Then after a brief pause.

"That's why people rember them."

For a second Vikram simply stared at him quietly.

Because hearing those words from a young actor barely starting his career felt genuinely strange.

Most newcors chased safety.

Karuppu sohow kept chasing uncertainty instead.

Then suddenly from downstairs, one assistant director scread loudly.

"Sir! Before food finishes please co!"

Imdiately both n looked down.

Half the crew was already destroying the biriyani line rcilessly.

Karuppu sighed dramatically.

-Sigh!

"Cinema teaches harsh realities."

And together…

The struggling director and the rising star slowly walked downstairs toward the noisy wrap-up dinner of a film neither of them yet realized would beco one of the most important projects of their careers.

Downstairs near the parking area, the small wrap-up celebration for 13B had fully shifted into relaxed chaos.

Paper plates. Plastic chairs.

Crew mbers sitting wherever space existed.

So discussing shots proudly.

So already planning their next projects.

Others simply eating in silence after weeks of exhausting work.

"...."

"...."

"...."

The tension-filled atmosphere that had dominated the apartnt set for over a month had finally dissolved completely tonight.

anwhile Karuppu had just finished talking with Vikram K Kumar when he noticed soone approaching from the side carrying a carefully balanced paper plate.

It was Neetu Chandra.

The mont she reached him, she extended the plate toward him casually.

"I saved this before the assistant directors destroyed everything."

Karuppu blinked once.

-Blink!

Then looked down at the plate.

Chicken biriyani.

Chicken 65.

Olette.

And even extra gravy.

Clearly not random leftovers.

This was a deliberately protected plate.

Because unlike the heroic lies he had confidently told his mother Lakshmi earlier…

He actually still hadn't eaten properly.

The mont shooting wrapped:

interviews happened,

crew photos started,

production discussions ca,

then conversations with Vikram,

And the food completely slipped his mind before his mother's call.

If his mother Lakshmi found out, she would absolutely scold him for skipping als again.

So naturally… He lied professionally.

Karuppu took the plate with a grin.

-Grin!

"Thank you, Mrs. Manohar."

Neetu imdiately rolled her eyes while smiling.

"Please co out of character."

Karuppu looked thoughtful.

"Impossible. This apartnt changed psychologically. Now you are my wife."

That made her laugh as both slowly moved toward the side seating area away from the louder crowd.

Compared to the noisy assistant directors nearby, this corner remained calr.

Karuppu finally started eating properly now while Neetu leaned back comfortably beside him.

For a few monts the conversation stayed casual.

Shooting mories. Funny retakes.

How many tis the TV serial the had gotten stuck inside everyone's heads.

Then unexpectedly, Neetu spoke more quietly.

"You know… I was actually nervous eting you initially."

Karuppu raised an eyebrow while chewing.

"Because of cricket?"

She nodded imdiately.

-Nod!

"After the World Cup final …I beca your fan."

Karuppu nearly choked laughing.

"What timing."

"You beca fan after watching commit violence against South Africa?"

Neetu laughed too before continuing.

"-Haha!"

"I genuinely wanted autograph that ti."

Then she looked away slightly embarrassed now.

"But I felt awkward asking."

Karuppu imdiately placed the plate dramatically aside and extended his hand like celebrity ceremony.

"Well. I can still sign."

Then with a wink at her with his usual grin.

-Wink!

"Limited-ti offer is available."
