Next Day...

The next morning, the atmosphere inside the Sivakumar household felt completely different from the chaotic cody of the previous night.

Today…

Nobody was in a joking mood.

Even the usually noisy dining hall had beco unusually quiet.

The television news channel played continuously in the background while everyone remained gathered before it almost unconsciously.

Fresh coffee sll filled the hall.

Newspapers lay scattered across the center table.

And sitting at the edge of the sofa—

Karthi looked like a student waiting for board exam results.

"...."

His fingers tapped restlessly against his knee every few seconds.

Sotis he stared at the television.

Sotis at his mobile. Sotis nowhere at all.

The pressure surrounding today was completely different from anything he had experienced before.

This wasn't his board exam.

Not cinema promotion. Not family teasing.

This… Was judgnt day for his dream.

Months of preparation for the role.

Training. Waiting.

All reduced to one thing now: Would audiences accept him?

anwhile Sivakumar sat silently nearby pretending calmness, though even he kept glancing toward the television more often than usual.

"...."

Lakshmi anwhile prayed quietly under her breath every few minutes while occasionally looking toward the small puja room.

Even Karuppu, despite normally behaving like professional chaos machine, stayed mostly quiet today.

"...."

Because he understood this tension deeply.

First films decided futures path whether is it going to be smooth or not.

Especially in Tamil cinema.

One strong debut could launch a career instantly.

One failure could bury confidence for years.

And Paruthiveeran itself was not a safe comrcial project either.

The raw rural setting. The rough character design.

The realistic tone.

Everything about it carried risk.

Suddenly—Karthi's mobile rang loudly.

-Ring! -Ring!

The entire family's attention snapped toward him imdiately.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Karthi himself nearly grabbed the phone too fast.

The screen displayed:

K.E. Gnanavel Raja

Instant silence filled the hall.

Karthi quickly answered the call.

"Halo?1"

From the other side, K. E. Gnanavel Raja sounded visibly excited.

And within seconds—Everyone sitting nearby noticed Karthi's tense expression slowly changing.

Relief. Disbelief. Then happiness.

"They're liking it?"

Karthi asked again just to confirm.

The smile on his face widened further.

"Seriously ah?"

Nearby, Lakshmi already clasped her hands together thankfully.

Finally Karthi disconnected the call and let out a long breath he had clearly been holding since morning.

"It's getting mostly positive response."

The relief inside the hall beca imdiate.

Lakshmi instantly took a small spoon of sugar from the nearby bowl and fed him traditionally with emotional pride shining in her eyes.

"See? I told you."

Karthi laughed softly now, finally relaxing properly for the first ti in days.

"-Haha!!!"

Even Sivakumar's face visibly softened.

anwhile Karuppu leaned back against the sofa dramatically.

"Good. Now this fellow will stop walking around house like rejected philosopher."

Karthi imdiately pointed at him.

"You shut up."

But the smile remained on his face now.

Then finally the television channel shifted fully toward the cinema section.

Everyone's attention returned toward the screen again.

The anchor began discussing the newly released films of the week.

And soon—Paruthiveeran appeared.

Clips from the film started playing:

dusty village roads,

raw emotional scenes,

intense dialogues,

rugged appearance of Karthi, and audience reactions outside theaters.

The news reporters themselves sounded surprised by the overwhelmingly strong reception.

"Newcor Karthi has impressed audiences heavily with his natural performance… many viewers are praising the realism and emotional intensity of the film…"

"…director Aer's rural storytelling is receiving appreciation…"

Shots of cheering audiences outside theaters appeared next.

So were specifically praising:

Karthi's screen presence, emotional acting, body language, and transformation.

One middle-aged man interviewed outside theater even declared dramatically:

"He doesn't look like debut hero at all!"

The hall slowly filled with smiles watching the reactions.

Especially Lakshmi.

Because for mothers, it didn't matter: awards, collections, or reviews first.

Seeing people accept her son warmly itself already ant victory.

Then suddenly another reporter on TV said:

"Interestingly, the Sivakumar family now has both younger sons making strong impact in completely different styles…"

The channel briefly showed:

clips from Aadhavan,

Karuppu lifting the U-19 World Cup,

And then Karthi's rugged Paruthiveeran appearance.

The contrast itself looked surreal.

One son: stylish, modern, cricket celebrity, experintal comrcial hero.

Another: raw, earthy, realistic village perforr.

Completely opposite energies.

Yet both succeeding at the industry.

Karuppu imdiately pointed at the TV dramatically.

"See?"

"Family diversification."

Karthi rolled his eyes laughing.

anwhile from upstairs, Suriya and Jyothika also watched the news coverage proudly.

Because more than success…

Today felt like sothing else.

The beginning of another journey.

Not just for Karthi.

But for the Sivakumar family itself.

One son had already beco established.

Now the next generation was slowly stepping into the spotlight one by one.

And sowhere inside the noisy television coverage, happy family smiles, and relief-filled morning atmosphere…

Karthi quietly realized sothing.

For the first ti in his life—People weren't looking at him only as.

"Suriya's brother."

Now…

They were finally seeing him as Karthi.

For the entire day, the Sivakumar household remained busy nonstop.

The landline rang continuously.

Mobiles vibrated every few minutes.

Relatives.

Family friends.

Industry contacts.

Directors.

Actors.

Everybody seed to be calling only for one thing:

To congratulate Karthi.

Even the usually calm Karthi slowly beca overwheld after hearing:

"Super performance da!"

"Natural acting don't lose it!"

"Last climax broke us!"

"You've arrived with a good flim!"

repeated for hours continuously.

At one point, he had quietly escaped to the balcony with tea just to breathe peacefully for five minutes.

Only for three more calls to arrive imdiately afterward.

anwhile inside the house, Lakshmi looked happier than she had in weeks.

Even Sivakumar, though outwardly composed, could not fully hide the satisfaction in his face whenever another positive review appeared on television.

The family genuinely felt proud.

Because Paruthiveeran succeeding wasn't easy.

It wasn't a "safe" debut.

No glamorous hero image. No stylish songs.

No comrcial protection. Just raw performance.

And audiences had accepted it wholeheartedly.

anwhile…

Karuppu had already disappeared from the house hours earlier.

Because unlike the rest of the family spending the day receiving calls… He had other plans.

Movie celebration with friends.

After all, no matter how famous life beca: cricket, cinema, producers, national fa…

Darshan and Mahendran still treated him like the sa fellow who annoyed them daily since school.

Which honestly kept him sane.

That evening, the three friends finally arrived at Ampa Skywalk to watch Paruthiveeran together publicly.

Technically speaking, Karuppu and the family had already watched the film during the private industry screening earlier.

But theater experience was completely different.

Especially for movies like this.

And honestly… Watching audience reactions fascinated him.

Darshan and Mahendran had sohow managed to get tickets despite the heavy rush.

The theater itself was packed heavily.

Posters everywhere. Crowds discussing scenes loudly.

Tea cups. Popcorn sll.

Whistle sounds even before the movie started.

To avoid unnecessary attention, Karuppu had covered himself properly:

dark coolers,

kerchief covering lower face,

Casual hoodie, and cap pulled low.

Though unfortunately…

His body language itself still carried "main character energy."

Inside the theater,

The atmosphere beca electric once the film started.

And slowly, as the story unfolded—Karuppu quietly observed the audience more than the screen.

That was the real magic.

People reacting together emotionally.

Laughing together. Falling silent together.

Whistling together when his brother cracks so jokes.

The mont Karthi's Paruthiveeran swaggered onto screen properly for mass monts…

The theater erupted loudly.

Whistles. Shouts. Frontbench screams.

One fellow sowhere behind literally shouted.

"ADI DA1 PARUTHIVEERAAA!"

Darshan imdiately joined the madness too.

anwhile Mahendran clapped loudly whenever fight scenes arrived.

Karuppu sat between them silently grinning under his kerchief seeing the public connect so deeply with the character.

"...."

Especially the body language.

The audience loved the roughness.

The unfiltered rural energy.

And during emotional scenes…

The theater gradually beca quieter and quieter.

By the ti the tragic climax approached, even noisy audiences had emotionally sunk into the film completely.

The devastating ending hit hard.

Very hard.

Several won in the theater were visibly crying openly.

Even so n sat silently afterward without speaking imdiately.

That was the power of a properly landed tragedy.

Not loud sadness.

Heavy silence.

"...."

"...."

"...."

As the end credits rolled and the beautiful pain-filled lody of Ayyayyo began playing softly through the theater speakers…

The emotional atmosphere lingered everywhere.

And naturally…

Darshan and Mahendran imdiately destroyed the emotional dignity of the mont.

Darshan suddenly grabbed Mahendran dramatically recreating the famous emotional pose from the film where Muthazhagu hugs Paruthiveeran emotionally.

Mahendran instantly transford into "tragic heroine mode."

"Aiyyayyooooo…"

He sang loudly and painfully off-key.

Darshan anwhile widened his chest dramatically trying to imitate rugged village hero posture.

The people nearby burst out laughing imdiately.

Karuppu nearly lost balance laughing himself.

Especially because:

One idiot was overacting as Paruthiveeran,

While the other looked like emotionally damaged goat attempting romance.

Mahendran even wiped imaginary tears dramatically.

"Paruthiveeraaaa…"

Darshan replied with fake intensity:

"Muthazhaguuu…"

Karuppu finally grabbed both their shoulders.

"Please. For public safety stop acting."

That only made them worse.

A few college students nearby even started laughing and clapping seeing the nonsense reenactnt.

anwhile Karuppu sat back watching his two best friends continue ruining cinema emotionally with complete shalessness.

And honestly…

Monts like this felt strangely precious now.

Inside a noisy Chennai theater with his two idiot friends overacting beside him.

As the days quietly passed,

The atmosphere inside the Sivakumar household slowly returned to normal rhythm again.

Karthi was now fully occupied with:

interviews,

success ets,

and nonstop appreciation coming after Paruthiveeran.

anwhile Karuppu finally got a few peaceful days without shooting schedules breathing down his neck.

Which naturally ant only one thing.

Lakshmi started force-feeding him properly again.

That afternoon, Karuppu sat at the dining table peacefully attacking a plate of hot nalli chops specially prepared for him by Lakshmi herself.

The rich aroma of spices filled the hall while the soft at practically fell off the bone with every bite.

Karuppu looked emotionally satisfied with life.

"This,"

He declared dramatically between bites,

"is why I cannot permanently settle in Arica."

From nearby, Lakshmi rolled her eyes while bringing more gravy.

"First finish what's already there."

Karuppu imdiately protected his plate.

"No overflow. This is balanced engineering which is used to fill my stomach."

Just then—His mobile phone suddenly vibrated loudly against the table.

-Ring! -Ring!

Karuppu glanced casually toward the screen.

Then slightly raised an eyebrow.

[Caller ID:

Udhayanidhi Stalin.]

A small grin imdiately appeared on his face.

-Grin!

Ever since Aadhavan, both of them had developed surprisingly good rapport.

Initially it had begun professionally through production discussions.

But over ti, the relationship had beco much more relaxed.

Mostly because both shared similar humor energy.

Unfortunately for surrounding people.

Karuppu quickly wiped his hand and attended the call.

"Halo?1"

From the other side, Udhayanidhi Stalin's familiar voice ca imdiately.

"World Cup hero busy ah?"

Karuppu leaned back in his chair with mock arrogance.

"Very. Currently important international-level nalli chops eting happening."

Udhayanidhi instantly laughed.

"-Haha!!!"

"Aiyo1. Still eating ah? Yu love food so much..."

Karuppu looked offended.

"This is emotional attack."

For the next few minutes, both casually chatted back and forth comfortably.

Nothing serious initially. Just random conversation.

Udhayanidhi asking:

How ho life was,

Whether California preparation finished,

How many scripts were currently troubling him,

And whether cricket people or cinema people were currently giving more headaches.

Karuppu answered with nonstop nonsense.

"At least cinema producers wait before emotionally blackmailing."

"Cricket selectors directly attack soul."

At one point even Lakshmi overheard parts of the conversation and shook her head hearing her son speaking like retired politician.

Then after a few more jokes and casual discussion…

Udhayanidhi's tone slowly beca slightly more focused.

"Actually… I called for another reason too."

Karuppu imdiately leaned back further suspiciously.

"That sentence always dangerous as if you were plotting behind my back."

From the other side ca laughter again.

Then Udhayanidhi continued to explain.

"There's a director wanting to et you."

Karuppu's eyes narrowed slightly now.

Because nowadays that sentence had beco daily life.

Still…

Sothing in Udhayanidhi's tone suggested this wasn't a random comrcial script.

So Karuppu quietly listened while lazily spinning the spoon between his fingers.

And sowhere nearby, Lakshmi already looked toward him knowingly.

Because by now…

She could practically predict the pattern.

Every few weeks: New director, new script, new risk, and sohow her youngest son saying yes to the most unpredictable projects possible.
