After Few Hours...
A few hours after the phone call with Udhayanidhi Stalin…
A black car slowly entered the Sivakumar household gates.
The security guards imdiately recognized the vehicle and opened the entrance respectfully.
Inside the car, however—
One man looked visibly more nervous than the other.
M. Rajesh quietly adjusted the script file resting on his lap for what was probably the tenth ti during the drive.
"...."
"...."
anwhile beside him, Udhayanidhi looked completely relaxed.
Because unlike Rajesh…
He had already beco familiar with the strange atmosphere surrounding Karuppu.
The fellow sohow made even major industry personalities feel like they were attending unpredictable family function instead of professional etings.
Still…
Rajesh's nervousness was understandable.
After all, the actor he was about to et wasn't just another upcoming hero anymore.
Karuppu's market value had exploded absurdly fast after:
Aadhavan,
The U-19 World Cup, and the film's massive international collections.
The movie had crossed expectations in a way nobody initially predicted.
Especially after the multilingual release gamble succeeded far beyond normal Tamil cinema standards overseas.
Trade analysts kept discussing the sa thing repeatedly:
Karuppu had unexpectedly built:
cricket audience,
Youth audience,
Family audience,
And overseas audience
almost simultaneously.
Which honestly sounded ridiculous for soone this early into cinema.
And now…
Rajesh sat holding a script many production houses had already hesitated to touch.
Not because the script was bad.
Actually the opposite.
The writing itself was sharp.
Funny.
Dark.
Emotionally chaotic.
But the climax…
That was the dangerous part.
Several producers had outright told him.
"If audience misunderstands this ending… Not taking the joke... the whole theater may go silent."
The story carried:
Dark cody,
Emotional manipulation,
Morally questionable humor,
And a climax that walked dangerously between: brilliant, controversial, and complete disaster.
If executed wrong?
The ending could accidentally beco dark instead of codic impact.
Or worse—Leave audiences deeply uncomfortable negatively.
That risk alone scared multiple production houses away.
But surprisingly…
Red Giants had shown interest.
And the biggest reason was Udhayanidhi himself genuinely liking the script after hearing the narration.
Especially the humor portions.
Still, one question had remained in his mind afterward.
"Who did you imagine while writing the hero?"
Rajesh had answered honestly without hesitation.
"Karuppu."
That answer alone had stunned Udhayanidhi initially.
"...."
Because after:
psychological horror,
emotional tragedy project,
And large comrcial success,
He hadn't expected Rajesh's dark cody hero to fit Karuppu naturally.
But the more Rajesh explained the character…
The more it strangely started making sense.
A chocolate boy with rugged look. Running mouth.
Emotionally unpredictable.
Able to shift between: cody, sincerity, emotional chaos, and dangerous confidence
Within seconds.
And honestly…
That sounded suspiciously like Karuppu himself sotis.
Which was exactly why Udhayanidhi had imdiately taken out his phone and called him directly.
And now—Both n finally stood before the Sivakumar residence itself.
As they stepped out of the car, Rajesh instinctively looked up toward the house once.
A classic Chennai film family ho.
Warm lights. Open balcony. Simple exterior.
Nothing overly flashy despite the level of fa living inside.
Before Rajesh could ntally prepare further—The front door suddenly opened.
And unfortunately…
The first thing they saw was Karuppu himself standing there casually eating ice cream directly from the tub.
Not bowl. Entire tub.
Wearing the loose shorts, oversized T-shirt, and absolutely zero "superstar aura."
The image nearly destroyed Rajesh's nervous cinematic preparation instantly.
"...."
Karuppu blinked seeing them. Then lifted the spoon slightly.
"Oh. Welco."
From behind him, Brindha's voice imdiately echoed.
"GIVE SO BEFORE FINISHING THE ICE CREAM!"
Karuppu ignored her professionally.
anwhile Udhayanidhi burst out laughing imdiately seeing Rajesh's expression.
Because yes.
This was exactly what happened eting Karuppu for the first ti.
Your carefully prepared industry expectations died within thirty seconds.
Karuppu casually stepped aside allowing them inside.
"Co co. Director sir already looking like viva exam candidate."
Rajesh imdiately laughed awkwardly despite himself.
The tension reduced slightly. Only slightly.
Because the script discussion itself still remained dangerous.
As they entered the hall, Rajesh quietly tightened his grip on the script file again.
Inside his mind, one thought repeated continuously:
If this actor says yes… This movie could beco sothing unforgettable.
Or completely destroy all of them together.
And sohow… That uncertainty itself made the project exciting.
The evening breeze flowed softly through the balcony attached to Karuppu's room.
Compared to the noisy downstairs hall, this place felt quieter and more private.
A wooden desk had been shifted near the balcony entrance while three chairs were arranged casually around it.
From outside, faint Chennai traffic sounds mixed with the occasional barking of street dogs sowhere far away.
anwhile inside the room:
cricket bats rested against one wall,
movie scripts lay stacked untidily on another table,
dumbbells occupied one corner,
And several VFX releated books remained scattered near his laptop.
The room itself perfectly reflected Karuppu's current life.
Half cinema. Half cricket. And fully chaotic.
Udhayanidhi Stalin casually settled into one chair while introducing the slightly nervous M. Rajesh properly.
"Rajesh. The fellow I told you about."
Rajesh imdiately extended his hand respectfully.
Karuppu shook it firmly with an easy smile.
Unlike so actors who intentionally maintained distance during first etings…
Karuppu behaved comfortably almost imdiately.
Which helped Rajesh relax slightly.
After a few normal introductions and casual discussion, Rajesh finally handed over the bound script file.
On the cover:
SMS (Siva Manasula Sakthi)
The mont Karuppu read the title, one eyebrow lifted slightly.
"...."
Inside his mind, recognition ca instantly.
Of course. This film.
He knew exactly what kind of storm this movie would beco in the future.
Not through: grand action, expensive visuals, or emotional tragedy.
But through raw entertainnt.
Sharp humor. Relationship chaos between the male lead and the female lead.
And one dangerously bold climax for its ti.
More importantly…
This movie would later beco a turning point for several people involved in it.
Quietly, Karuppu leaned back in his chair and began reading seriously.
As the pages turned, the balcony atmosphere slowly beca quieter.
Rajesh carefully observed his reactions continuously.
Because this narration mattered enormously to him.
The story itself unfolded naturally:
Siva and Sakthi eting through lies,
Train encounter at the start of the movie,
Mistaken identities which they clearly lied about each other,
Endless revenge pranks like Tom and Jerry,
Emotional confusion hidden behind humor,
And two emotionally immature people constantly hurting each other while unknowingly falling in love.
Karuppu occasionally smirked reading certain portions.
-Smirk!
Especially the radio station scenes Where Shiva and his best friend Vivek trolling Sakthi who was live through their radio show.
So of the cody exchanges genuinely landed well on paper itself.
anwhile Rajesh nervously explained a few portions occasionally.
"The humor should feel natural …not forced cody track."
Karuppu nodded while continuing reading.
-Nod!
Then ca the emotional middle portions:
Sakthi realizing her feelings for the worst man she t in her life she thought,
Siva's immaturity in dealing with her,
Misunderstandings which made their relationship very chaotic,
Emotional frustration and jealous hidden under humor, and the drunken humiliation sequence.
The script balanced cody and emotional irritation surprisingly well.
And then… The climax. The risky portion.
The very reason many producers hesitated.
The pregnancy reveal. Families beating Siva humorously when they find out he is the reason behind it.
The chaotic relationship energy continuing even after marriage.
It was bold for this period of ti because the hero himself remained emotionally flawed even till the end.
No grand "perfect transformation."
No dramatic moral lecture turning a new leaf.
Just two chaotic people sohow loving each other genuinely.
After finishing the final page, Karuppu slowly closed the script.
"...."
For a few seconds, silence remained on the balcony.
Rajesh unconsciously tightened his fingers together waiting for the response.
Then finally Karuppu looked up as he addressed the two ns before him.
"I like it."
Rajesh blinked once.
"...."
Karuppu continued casually.
"The humor works. And more importantly …the characters feel irritatingly real."
That sentence alone visibly relaxed Rajesh.
Because that was exactly the emotional tone he wanted.
Not perfect romance. ssy romance.
anwhile Udhayanidhi already smiled knowingly.
"...."
He had expected this reaction halfway through the reading itself.
Then Karuppu leaned back thoughtfully.
"I'll do it."
Rajesh's face imdiately brightened fully now.
But before excitent could completely settle—Karuppu raised one finger.
"Condition."
Both n imdiately listened carefully.
Karuppu explained calmly his situation.
"We need split schedules. I have cricket commitnts coming."
Then after a brief pause.
"IPL."
The word itself carried weight now.
Because Indian cricket itself was entering a massive shift with the arrival of franchise cricket.
Karuppu had already submitted his na.
And honestly…
Everyone expected bidding wars if he entered auctions.
A World Cup-winning young all-rounder who already had nationwide popularity?
That combination was comrcial gold.
Karuppu continued to explain.
"If I get selected …we'll need flexible shooting schedules."
"Also I still have another movie project yet to begin."
The sheer casualness with which he said that nearly amused Udhayanidhi internally.
This fellow sohow balanced:
international cricket,
multiple films,
California plans,
and experintal cinema
Like he was organizing tuition schedules.
anwhile Rajesh nodded imdiately without hesitation.
"...."
Honestly…
If Karuppu was willing to do the film at all, schedule adjustnts were tiny issue compared to the opportunity itself.
And Udhayanidhi had absolutely zero complaints either.
After all—The man sitting before him currently was the hottest young na in Indian entertainnt:
an international cricket sensation,
youth icon,
And actor whose debut film had crossed nearly unimaginable collection numbers worldwide.
Even now, Aadhavan continued performing strongly overseas.
The market surrounding Karuppu had beco explosive.
Yet strangely…
He still sat barefoot on his balcony discussing scripts while eating groundnuts from a steel bowl like neighborhood cricket captain.
Finally Udhayanidhi leaned back laughing softly.
"You know… normal people choose either cinema or cricket."
Karuppu imdiately replied without missing beat.
"I enjoy confusion. Because I am Iron man."
The three n burst into laughter together as the Chennai night breeze continued flowing through the balcony.
And sowhere in that relaxed conversation… As the main topic is finished.
After Two Days...
Two days after the eting with M. Rajesh…
The Sivakumar household once again received another familiar guest.
This ti it was Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
Unlike her earlier visit where excitent and narration energy filled the atmosphere…
Today she looked visibly frustrated.
Not angry. Just ntally exhausted.
The mont she entered the hall, even Lakshmi noticed it imdiately.
"What happened ma?"
Aishwarya forced a small smile politely before sitting down.
"...."
anwhile Karuppu arrived from upstairs wearing a sleeveless T-shirt while rubbing his wet hair with a towel after bath.
The mont he saw her expression, he already understood sothing had gone wrong.
"Producer problem ah?"
That question alone made her sigh deeply.
"Everywhere."
Karuppu sat opposite her now while Lakshmi brought coffee.
Nearby, Sivakumar sat calmly in his chair applying oil to his hair slowly like retired strategist watching war reports.
Aishwarya finally explained properly.
Almost every production house she approached liked:
the emotional writing, the love story, the performances potential, and even the ntal health angle.
But the mont the climax discussion began…
Everything changed.
"They all want changes."
Karuppu leaned back quietly listening.
Aishwarya continued with visible irritation now.
"They keep saying audience won't accept the ending."
"One producer literally asked why hero should die emotionally like that after making audience love him."
Another producer wanted:
treatnt ending,
hospital recovery,
emotional reconciliation,
hopeful closure,
and a "safer ssage."
Soone else suggested removing the darker psychological portions entirely.
"They want the pain… without the tragedy."
That sentence itself carried her frustration fully.
Because to her, the emotional devastation WAS the story.
Without it, the film would beco ordinary romance drama.
