....

The shooting of "Why This Kolaveri Di" turned out exactly the way Aishwarya and Anirudh had imagined.

It wasn't glamorous.

It wasn't a typical hero song.

And that was precisely why it worked.

The beach location ca alive the mont the caras started rolling.

The sea breeze constantly pushed against the crew.

The waves crashed against the shore in the background.

Vendors moved through the small marketplace section that had been arranged for the shoot.

Children occasionally gathered near the barricades trying to catch a glimpse of the actors.

As the playback began, Karuppu transford into Ram once again.

🎵 "Yo boys... I am singing song..." 🎵

The cara followed Ram and Senthil stumbling across the beach.

Not as professional dancers.

Not as heroes.

Just two friends pretending they were drunk and trying to survive heartbreak.

Baba Bhaskar's choreography reflected exactly that.

Instead of stylish steps, the dance consisted of intentionally awkward movents.

Shoulder shakes.

Random hopping.

Finger pointing.

Funny walking styles.

Pretending to lose balance.

Several tis the crew burst out laughing because Karuppu and the actor playing Senthil kept adding small improvisations.

One take had Ram dramatically falling to his knees and singing toward the sky.

Another had Senthil trying to drag him away while Ram stubbornly continued singing.

Even Baba Bhaskar was laughing.

"Don't dance properly!"

he shouted through his mike.

Karuppu looked confused.

"That's the first ti a choreographer has told that."

"Good."

"Continue dancing badly."

The entire unit erupted into laughter.

As the song progressed, the humorous tone slowly started becoming emotional.

The beach sequences transitioned into Ram's deteriorating ntal state.

Janani began appearing as an illusion.

Shruti, dressed in soft colors, appeared at a distance near the shoreline.

The effect was simple.

Yet haunting.

Ram smiled the mont he saw her.

To him, she was real.

The illusion silently stretched her hand toward him.

Inviting him forward.

The scene required no dialogue.

No explanations.

Just expressions.

The cara followed Ram as he walked after her.

Step by step.

Further toward the sea.

The music continued.

But underneath the playful surface, a darker aning slowly erged.

The waves reached his feet.

Still he continued following.

The illusion remained just beyond reach.

Then ca the climax of the sequence.

Ram walked deeper.

The water rose higher.

The illusion continued calling him.

Just before he could move further into the sea...

Senthil rushed into fra.

He grabbed Ram's shoulder.

Pulled him back violently.

The illusion disappeared.

Ram stared at the empty shoreline.

Confused. Lost.

"...."

The scene ended there.

When Aishwarya finally called cut, everyone felt satisfied.

The song managed to balance cody and tragedy.

A difficult combination to achieve.

With that, "Why This Kolaveri Di" was officially wrapped.

The production imdiately moved forward.

There wasn't much ti left in the schedule.

There two more songs remained.

Several important scenes also needed to be completed.

One of the strongest scenes involved Janani's growing desperation.

After learning her mother intended to leave for Arica, Janani found herself trapped between family expectations and her love for Ram.

The scene was fild inside her house.

Unable to control her emotions.

Unable to imagine a future away from him.

Janani finally snapped.

She grabbed the visa docunts.

The passport.

The travel papers.

And burned them.

The flas rose quickly.

By the ti her mother discovered what had happened, the docunts were already ruined.

The confrontation that followed beca one of Shruti's best performances during the schedule.

Her mother, furious and devastated, slapped her repeatedly.

Demanding answers.

Demanding to know why she had done such a reckless thing.

Janani finally broke down.

Because she herself didn't fully understand why.

She only knew one thing.

She didn't want to leave Ram.

The emotional aftermath continued in another important scene.

The terrace sequence at Senthil's house next morning.

By this point, Kumaran was preparing to leave for London.

The three friends had begun spending most evenings together.

Trying to enjoy the little ti they had left.

The terrace set carried a very natural atmosphere.

Plastic chairs.

Water tanks.

City lights visible in the distance.

It felt like the kind of place where young people genuinely spent their evenings.

Janani arrived there emotional and exhausted.

Ram imdiately sensed sothing was wrong.

For the first ti she confessed everything.

The passport.

The visa.

The fight with her mother.

The consequences.

Everything.

As she spoke, Ram slowly realized the extent of what she had sacrificed for him.

The scene ended with both sitting quietly beside each other.

Neither knowing what the future held.

Yet neither wanting to let go.

anwhile the remaining song, "Co On Girls,"1 was fild inside a pub location.

Unlike the darker songs, this sequence was full of youthful energy.

Their friends surrounded them.

Music blasted through the speakers.

Everyone celebrated.

The sequence depicted one of the happiest monts in the film.

Ram and Janani getting married in the presence of their closest friends.

Not a grand wedding. Not a lavish ceremony.

Just two people deeply in love.

Supported by those who mattered most.

The song itself beca a celebration of friendship.

Love.

Youth.

And freedom.

As the second schedule moved toward completion, Aishwarya could finally see the film taking shape.

The first schedule had given the audience tragedy.

The second schedule gave them the reason that tragedy would hurt.

And watching the footage each evening, she realized sothing important.

The chemistry between Karuppu and Shruti was working exactly as she had hoped.

When they laughed together, the audience would smile.

When they fought, the audience would feel frustrated.

And when fate eventually separated them...

The audience would feel every bit of the pain she wanted them to experience.

The second schedule continued moving steadily toward completion, and with every passing day, the film slowly built the emotional foundation that would eventually make the tragedy of Ram's fate hit even harder.

One of the most important sequences began with Ram and Janani arriving at their new apartnt after their marriage.

The location itself had been carefully chosen.

It wasn't a luxurious penthouse.

It wasn't so grand mansion.

It looked like the sort of best apartnt a couple would genuinely begin their life in.

Simple.

Comfortable.

Warm.

The scene began outside the apartnt building.

Janani was still nervous.

Everything had happened so quickly.

The marriage.

The separation from her family.

The uncertainty of the future.

anwhile Ram was in the exact opposite mood.

He looked happier than anyone had ever seen him.

The taxi stopped.

Before Janani could even properly step out, Ram suddenly scooped her up into his arms.

"Ram!"

Shruti shouted in character.

"What?"

Karuppu replied with an innocent smile.

"Put down!"

"No."

"People are watching!"

"Good."

The surrounding crew mbers laughed as the scene continued.

Ram carried her toward the apartnt entrance despite her protests.

Janani was trying to look angry.

Unfortunately, she couldn't stop smiling.

The elevator ride.

The corridor.

The apartnt door.

Everything felt like the beginning of a new chapter.

Then Ram opened the door.

And imdiately froze by what he had saw.

"...."

Inside the apartnt stood his parents.

His mother was arranging decorative items around the house.

His father stood near the living room wall.

Carefully adjusting a portrait.

A portrait of Ram wearing a formal coat and suit.

The sa portrait.

The very sa portrait.

The one that already seen during the first schedule.

The portrait Janani had thrown things at.

The portrait whose glass fra shattered after she learned Ram had not been murdered.

That he had taken his own life.

Seeing it now, displayed during one of the happiest periods of their lives, gave the scene an entirely different aning.

Ram imdiately put Janani down.

His father was still focused on straightening the fra.

Without warning, Ram walked forward and wrapped both arms around him from behind.

The older man jumped slightly caught off guard.

"Idiot!"

He muttered.

"You scared ."

Ram simply grinned.

-Grin!

"...."

His mother rolled her eyes.

"Still behaving like a child after getting married."

The scene that followed was intentionally lighthearted.

Janani expected Ram's parents to be angry.

Perhaps disappointed.

Just like her own parents who they disown her yesterday.

Perhaps upset that they married without informing everyone properly.

Instead she found herself accepted almost imdiately.

Which left her completely confused.

Eventually Ram asked the question directly.

"If you accepted us..."

"Then why didn't you attend the wedding?"

His father looked toward him. Then toward Janani.

And smiled faintly.

According to Ram's version, Janani's parents had refused to attend.

So his father made a decision.

"If only one side attended..."

He paused.

"Then one day her parents would rember that wedding."

The room beca silent.

"They would rember what they missed."

His mother nodded.

-Nod!

"We didn't want that."

Janani's eyes imdiately beca moist.

The scene wasn't dramatic.

There were no tears.

No speeches.

Just two parents quietly trying to preserve the possibility of reconciliation.

Later ca one of Aishwarya's favorite shots.

Ram's parents stood on the balcony.

Watching the evening skyline.

The cara slowly moved backward.

Behind them stood Ram and Janani.

Mirroring the exact sa pose.

Ram's arm rested over Janani's shoulder.

His head slightly tilted. A smile on his face.

He was happy his parents had co.

For a brief mont he looked at his parents and imagined their future.

Then he noticed Janani wasn't smiling.

Her eyes were elsewhere. Far away.

"...."

Thinking about her own parents and sister.

Thinking about the family she had lost.

The smile slowly faded from Ram's face.

Without speaking a word, he understood.

Cut.

The entire sequence ca out beautifully.

A few days later the production moved toward another important emotional section.

Ram's visit to Janani's family ho.

The atmosphere during the shoot was completely different.

Awkward.

Tense.

Uncomfortable.

The family invited him inside.

But only because basic manners forced them to.

Nobody knew what to say.

Nobody knew how to behave.

The silence itself beca a character in the scene.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Eventually Ram broke it.

He politely asked them to accept their marriage.

Janani's father remained firm.

"I still can't forgive what she did."

His voice carried disappointnt more than anger.

"She betrayed us."

The line hit hard.

Because from his perspective, it was true.

The cara slowly moved toward Ram.

He listened quietly.

Then sothing unexpected happened.

Ram stood from his seat. Walked forward.

And touched the older man's feet.

Even the actors filming the scene felt the emotional impact.

The father imdiately tried to stop him.

But Ram refused.

His voice trembled slightly.

"My father taught never to fall at anyone's feet."

The room beca silent.

"I've never done it before."

The older man's expression slowly changed.

Ram lowered his head further.

"I'm doing it for Janani."

His voice cracked with emotion.

"She needs you."

No grand speech. No dramatic background music.

Just honesty.

"Please co see her."

The simplicity of the scene made it powerful.

When Aishwarya finally called cut, several crew mbers quietly applauded.

Not because it was flashy.

But because it felt real.

Eventually, within the story, Janani's family relented.

Pride finally gave way to love.

The next scene was fild a few days later.

Ram's surprise.

Without telling Janani anything, he brought her parents to et her.

The mont she opened the door and saw them standing there...

Everything broke.

Years of love. Month of pain. Weeks of guilt.

All at once.

Janani burst into tears.

Running toward her mother. Then her father.

And hugged them.

Apologizing repeatedly.

The words barely made sense through the crying.

But they didn't need to.

Because the family understood.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Her mother cried back. Her father cried back.

Janani cried in their arms.

And standing in the background, watching quietly...

Ram smiled seeing the weight on his wife's shoulder is now gone.

Not because he had fixed everything.

But because he had given the woman he loved sothing she desperately needed.

Her family.

As filming continued, the audience within the story watched Janani slowly rebuild her relationship with her parents.

Family dinners returned.

Conversations returned.

Visits returned.

And for the first ti in a long while...

Life felt complete.

Which, unfortunately for Aishwarya's story, was exactly why these scenes were so important.

Because the happier Ram and Janani beca...

The more painful the audience's heartbreak would be when they rembered where their story eventually ended.
