More than a month had passed.
The rumors spreading through the village not only failed to die down—they grew louder by the day.
Even the heads of the major clans were beginning to realize that sothing was very wrong.
Similar scandals had surfaced before, but they were always suppressed almost imdiately.
This ti, however, it was as if no one was controlling the situation at all.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's prestige had fallen to its lowest point since he took office.
The revelations included the persecution of the Senju Clan, the suppression of the Uchiha Clan, forcing Tsunade Senju—one of the Legendary Sannin—to leave the village, allowing Orochimaru to escape despite knowing about his human experints, and sacrificing Hizashi Hyuga to appease the Land of Lightning after the Hyuga Incident.
And those were only the major scandals.
Countless other rumors were spreading everywhere.
Many ordinary shinobi found it hard to believe such things were true.
On the surface, Konoha had always looked spotless.
The largest landowners had been dismantled, and their wealth redistributed to satisfy the major clans.
Civilian villagers were given the illusion of upward mobility, especially after a commoner-born genius like Minato Namikaze beca Hokage.
To the average person, Konoha seed like the best hidden village in the world.
Who would have thought that beneath that polished façade lurked so much blood and darkness?
As Hiruzen's closest ally, Danzo Shimura was executing his sabotage with remarkable thoroughness.
Hiruzen had beco suspicious of everyone around him.
He had even begun to suspect Danzo himself.
He started secretly investigating his own inner circle.
"I hope it isn't you, Danzo."
Hiruzen crushed his smoking pipe in his hand.
The rumors had not ceased for even a single day.
They were seriously undermining his control over Konoha.
And that was sothing he absolutely could not tolerate.
Konoha could not afford to descend into chaos.
anwhile, Uzumaki Shuji had begun training openly.
At Root headquarters, he spent his days practicing ninjutsu.
Primarily Wind Release.
Secondarily Fire Release.
In truth, casting elental techniques consud more mana than using the Chain of Heaven.
But that wasn't the point.
The purpose was to increase his maximum mana reserves.
The vitality of the Uzumaki bloodline was no joke.
Even with his eight-year-old body, his natural attributes already generated more than one thousand mana points, and the number was still rising slowly.
Based on Naruto's growth trajectory, by the ti he reached twelve years old, his chakra reserves would likely amount to twenty to thirty thousand points.

"Once my mana reaches fifty thousand, I should have enough power to make a move against Konoha."
"The fastest ways to increase it now are money and special items. Things like the Byakugan… or the Scroll of Seals."
Uzumaki Shuji studied his status panel.
Raw mana remained the most important factor if he wanted to end battles quickly.
In terms of physical ability alone, he was already roughly nineteen tis stronger than an ordinary adult man.
But that still wasn't enough to contend with true taijutsu masters.
Without relentless training, improving his body further would be slow.
At this stage, the fastest way to grow stronger was simple:
Spend money.
Danzo's collection, however, contained very few truly valuable items.
Ninjutsu and forbidden techniques counted as knowledge-based treasures, but the mana bonuses they granted were relatively small.
The Scroll of Seals, on the other hand, would almost certainly grant at least ten thousand mana points.
Danzo possessed only a handful of forbidden techniques.
Fortunately, he did have a near-complete collection of Uzumaki sealing techniques.
Those were useful to Uzumaki Shuji due to his bloodline compatibility.
"Unless the Uchiha can rally other clans, their chances are slim. And they'd be at constant risk of betrayal."
"The Uchiha have no way out, which is why they're willing to bet everything on ."
"Trying to persuade people one by one is too troubleso. And Uzumaki Shuji's eye has an absurdly long cooldown."
He leaned against a tree after training, analyzing his options.
At Root headquarters, he was completely safe.
Every Root mber bore a curse seal implanted by Danzo.
They no longer truly belonged to Konoha—they belonged to Danzo alone.
And now Danzo belonged to him.
Hiruzen had always believed he could control Danzo.
That arrogance had blinded him.
He never imagined that even after Uzumaki Shuji's death, soone could rewrite Danzo's very will.
"First, I'll steal the Scroll of Seals."
"And while I'm at it, I'll show myself to disgust Hiruzen."
"If there's a chance to kill him outright…"
"I won't hesitate."
Uzumaki Shuji had made his decision.
He still had a healthy reserve of points.
After forcing Danzo to sign a loyalty contract, and binding Root under his control, he had gained nearly eighty thousand points in total.
Far fewer than he had gained from the Uchiha.
The organization was too small, too poor, and its overall quality was diocre.
He had also killed a large portion of Root himself.
Danzo was simply too poor.
Though Danzo was still the nominal head of the Shimura Clan, exposing him too early would be unwise.
Once full-scale conflict began, Uzumaki Shuji could collect wealth and wage war simultaneously.
"I'll have Danzo create an opening."
"Ti to give Hiruzen Sarutobi a little surprise."
His lips curled into a cold smile.
Perhaps this would even be enough to kill the Third Hokage outright.
After all—
The ga had only just begun.
And he had no intention of letting any of them off so easily.
