Inside his ho, Fugaku Uchiha was startled. He imdiately jumped onto the roof and activated his Sharingan to observe the situation.

After a mont's thought, he decided that appearances still had to be maintained.

He intended to lead so n over, make his presence known, and see whether there was any way to help this mysterious ally.

In his opinion, there was a high chance that the Uzumaki clan was behind all of this.

The sudden attack caught Hiruzen completely off guard.

His entire right arm was badly burned.

If his guess about the enemy was correct, then this operation had almost certainly involved soone from inside Konoha.

Only an insider could have arranged such a trap here.

Before Hiruzen's treatnt was even complete, more than a dozen explosive-tagged kunai flew in from the darkness.

The surrounding ANBU reacted instantly, using ninjutsu and kunai to deflect them.

Monts later, both sides clashed.

The attackers were clearly being overwheld by the ANBU.

Danzo had sent only twelve operatives.

The number was small, but every one of them was a dead man.

The mont they realized defeat was inevitable, they detonated the explosive tags on their bodies, dragging their enemies down with them.

Hiruzen's burned arm was quickly restored.

It was only a superficial injury, and healing jutsu erased it in monts.

Then the Third Hokage personally entered the battle.

Many ANBU were already rushing toward the building that housed the Scroll of Seals.

Ordinary ninja did not dare approach this area.

Only jonin had the authority to move freely here.

A powerful gust of wind burst forth, sending three enemy ninja flying.

But in the next instant, a thunderous explosion erupted.

Shredded flesh, torn apart by explosive tags, splattered across Hiruzen's face.

"Kill them all. Leave no survivors."

Hiruzen's expression turned icy.

"That's why I hope to act alongside the three of you, so everyone can see that I'm fighting to protect the village."

Fugaku spoke with complete sincerity.

Hearing this, all three felt a deep sense of discomfort.
