By the ti Hiruzen Sarutobi arrived, ANBU were already strewn across the area.
Most of them were still alive.
But their arms and legs had all been crushed by the Chain of Heaven.
The sight instantly ignited his fury.
Without hesitation, he opened with Earth Release, intending to alter the terrain and restrict his opponent's movent.
"So you finally ca."
Uzumaki Shuji remained perfectly calm when he saw Hiruzen appear.
He had sent Danzo to assassinate Hiruzen, but he had never expected that plan to succeed.
Nor had he allowed Danzo to deploy his full strength.
The dead n Danzo sent were nothing more than a nuisance.
As the torrent of earth surged toward him like a waterfall across the ground, Uzumaki Shuji lightly leapt upward and landed atop a Chain of Heaven that rose nearly five ters into the air.
He effortlessly avoided the Earth Flow River.
"Wind Release: Cyclone!"
Hiruzen's anger had overwheld his reason.
For days, this mysterious enemy had kept him on edge.
And now, that enemy stood right in front of him.
At the sa ti, Danzo's betrayal had filled him with boundless rage.
Worst of all, he suspected the two were working together.
That was what he found most intolerable.
A tornado nearly ten ters tall materialized, generating a trendous pulling force.
Even so immobilized ANBU nearby were sucked into it.
Boom!
Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!
In response, Uzumaki Shuji unleashed three giant Chains of Heaven, each ford by combining twenty chains into one.
The massive chains smashed into the cyclone and instantly tore it apart.
The chains, driven into the ground from above, disrupted the airflow entirely—like thrusting an indestructible rod into the center of a whirlpool.
The other two chains shot straight toward Hiruzen.
"Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!"
Using only two hand seals, Hiruzen raised a massive earthen wall nearly two ters thick.
But against the Chain of Heaven, it was worthless.
Its hardness was nowhere near enough to compete.
The wall was shattered instantly.
But Hiruzen himself had vanished.
"There!"
Fortunately, Uzumaki Shuji's sensory ability was anything but weak.
Whether it ca from the system's daily training, the Uzumaki bloodline, or his bargain-bin father's talent, he had no idea.
Bang!
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!"
Hiruzen appeared directly beneath Uzumaki Shuji.
With his right hand, he struck the armor on his left forearm, summoning a giant Fūma Shuriken.
His right forearm guard had been destroyed in the earlier explosive trap, leaving only the left one intact.
He hurled the Fūma Shuriken toward Uzumaki Shuji and imdiately used the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique.
In an instant, one shuriken beca dozens, covering nearly every direction an ordinary ninja could evade.
"Chain of Heaven!"
Uzumaki Shuji slashed his right hand downward.
Dozens of chains erupted from the Gate of Babylon and collided head-on with the incoming shuriken.
At the sa ti, Uzumaki Shuji rode a lengthening chain and moved out of the impact zone.
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Fla Bullet!"
But Hiruzen's assault did not stop.
A blazing fire dragon roared toward Uzumaki Shuji in pursuit.
"So this is what a high-level battle feels like!"
The pressure was on an entirely different level compared to fighting ordinary ninja.
Uzumaki Shuji controlled more chains and shattered the fire dragon.
Against normal ANBU, the Chain of Heaven was nearly unstoppable.
Unless the enemy possessed exceptional taijutsu and speed, a single touch was enough to remove them from the fight.
But Hiruzen was different.
Despite his age, his reaction speed and mobility were astonishing.
Combined with powerful ninjutsu that required only two or three hand seals, he was a far more troubleso opponent.
Relying on the Chain of Heaven alone, Uzumaki Shuji could not gain the upper hand.
Hiruzen unleashed ninjutsu almost nonstop.
He could not get close to Uzumaki Shuji.
And Uzumaki Shuji had no intention of engaging this old fox in close combat.
Knowing his own weakness, he had no desire to charge in recklessly.
"Lightning Water Dragon Bullet!"
Hiruzen used a composite ninjutsu.
A water dragon crackling with arcs of lightning roared toward Uzumaki Shuji.
"Mastery over all five chakra natures, along with shape and nature transformation… no wonder he's called the Professor."
For the first ti, Uzumaki Shuji felt that his chains were not quite as indestructible as usual.
Dozens of fused chains twisted together like a golden dragon and surged forward.
The Lightning Water Dragon was pierced clean through.
"What?!"
But Uzumaki Shuji's expression changed.
The water dragon that should have been destroyed split into four smaller dragons.
Moving in claw-like arcs, they shot toward him from different directions.
Uzumaki Shuji imdiately summoned four more chains to intercept them.
"Finally, I found your opening!"
At that mont, Hiruzen leapt into the air and appeared directly behind Uzumaki Shuji.
His hands were already weaving seals.
The distance between them was less than three ters.
Hiruzen intended to finish him in a single blow.
He had already discovered that Lightning Release was especially effective.
The Chain of Heaven did not seem to isolate electrical attacks.
"No."
A smile appeared on Uzumaki Shuji's face.
"It was who found your opening."
"Illusion Technique: Sharingan!"
There was no trace of panic in his eyes.
Behind him, the Gate of Babylon opened.
A Sharingan floated into view beside his shoulder.
Then it spun.
The Lightning Release jutsu that Hiruzen was just one seal away from completing ca to an abrupt halt.
His body went limp and began falling toward the ground.
At the sa ti, portals opened all around him.
More than a dozen Chains of Heaven shot out and wrapped around his body.
Bang!
The bound Hiruzen exploded into smoke.
It had only been a shadow clone.
