Now reading: Chapter 61 61: Uzumaki Shuji, King of Uruk! from Konoha: I’m Naruto’s Brother — Gilgamesh, a Action novel by DarkVerse.

"What… what is happening?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi had lost count of how many tis he had uttered those words tonight.

This was the Uzumaki clan's forbidden technique.

The very sa jutsu that had sealed away the Nine-Tails when everyone else had been helpless.

How could it simply fail?

More than that, Hiruzen could even feel that he had not paid the usual price for using the technique.

He was still alive.

Clink.

Uzumaki Shuji did not bother answering.

Instead, the Chains of Heaven shot forward and bound Hiruzen tightly.

A number of shinobi still remained fiercely loyal to the Third Hokage.

Seeing him captured, they rushed forward to rescue him.

But Hashirama's Wood Release rose up and blocked their path.

"In the na of the King, I sentence you to death."

"The sentence shall be carried out imdiately."

"Your punishnt: to perish within a world of endless betrayal."

At the sa ti, Uzumaki Shuji took out Uzumaki Shuji's Mangekyō Sharingan.

You deceived even those who trusted you most.

Then experience what it feels like to be betrayed over and over again.

Using Uzumaki Shuji's eye, Uzumaki Shuji cast a powerful illusion on Hiruzen.

With his chakra nearly exhausted, Hiruzen had no way to break free.

Bound by the Chains of Heaven, his chakra was further suppressed.

He could only scream endlessly within the illusionary world.

In the end, Hiruzen Sarutobi died in the genjutsu itself.

Hashirama was furious.

To him, this child's thods were far too cruel.

But under the control of Edo Tensei, he could not even speak.

He could only continue restraining the remaining ninja.

Fugaku Uchiha fought alongside him.

"Surrender or die!"

"These are your only two choices!"

After killing Hiruzen, Uzumaki Shuji turned to face the surviving shinobi.

Many had already stopped resisting.

They did not attack their forr comrades, but neither did they move.

They simply stood still.

Others still tried to fight.

But most of Konoha's strongest forces had already been annihilated by Ea.

The ones left were largely diocre chunin.

One by one, more shinobi dropped their weapons and joined those who had ceased fighting.

Throughout the village, the heads of the major clans were watching.

Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, Hyuga, and many others.

When Hiruzen had previously pressured them to "teach the brat a lesson," they had considered it.

Now they shuddered in hindsight.

Had they acted then, they might already be dead.

During the earlier battle at the Hokage Tower, Uzumaki Shuji had nearly killed them all.

That experience was precisely why the clan leaders themselves had stayed away tonight.

Only mid-level mbers had been sent.

Their losses were painful, but at least the clan heads survived.

"Those who surrender, lay down your weapons and remain here."

"As for those who still wish to die, I will grant your wish."

"Tonight, Konoha will be erased from the map."

Uzumaki Shuji once more rose into the air atop the Chains of Heaven and raised Ea high.

Panic spread across the battlefield.

They had all witnessed what that weapon could do.

Everything caught in its blast had been obliterated.

Erase Konoha from the map?

Would that not an the deaths of everyone in the village?

"Didn't you say you wanted to end war?"

"If you do this, how are you any different from those who start wars?"

Hashirama finally spoke.

Earlier, Uzumaki Shuji had silenced him completely.

Now, his only concern was saving Konoha.

Uzumaki Shuji pretended to think for a mont.

"Very well."

"Before sunrise, notify every villager."

"Those willing to submit may live."

"Those unwilling to submit—and still here when the deadline passes—will die."

In truth, Uzumaki Shuji lacked the national power necessary to erase the dozens of kiloters that made up Konoha.

But the threat itself was highly effective.

And his points had already surpassed 500,000.

He could now exchange them for several useful items, including artifacts that increased his mana reserves.

That gave him more than enough confidence.

Many shinobi looked utterly hopeless.

What kind of monster was this?

Even Fugaku Uchiha wondered if his king had gone a little too far.

But as a retainer, he could not question the king's command.

"I thought you wanted Konoha to beco part of your kingdom."

Hashirama was genuinely confused.

Hadn't that been Uzumaki Shuji's goal all along?

"In your era, did ordinary shinobi truly matter to you and Madara?"

"Genin, chunin, even jonin… weren't they essentially no different from ordinary civilians in your eyes?"

"For , it is the sa."

"Their value is limited."

"If they refuse to submit, I will kill them."

"Otherwise they will only start future wars, forcing to deal with them later."

Uzumaki Shuji's answer was blunt.

For beings at the level of Hashirama and Madara, everyone below Kage-class was fundantally on a different plane of existence.

The Five Kage had been toys to Madara.

Uzumaki Shuji had not yet reached that level himself.

But in terms of destructive force, he was already close enough to inspire absolute fear.

Hashirama fell silent.

This child was even more domineering than Madara.

"Fugaku Uchiha."

"Go inform the other clans."

"Let them choose."

"Submit, or die."

"Begin with the Hyuga."

Uzumaki Shuji issued the order.

At the sa ti, he quietly focused on restoring his mana.

His recovery rate was fast.

It would not take long to replenish most of his reserves.

"Yes, my King!"

Fugaku trembled with excitent and accepted imdiately.

Though his eyes were exhausted from overusing the Mangekyō Sharingan, he felt more energized than ever.

Without delay, he sped toward the Hyuga compound.

He could not resist taking so pleasure in watching his longti rivals bow.

"You as well."

"Bring your families and present yourselves."

"The King grants amnesty."

"You will beco the King's subjects."

"Those unwilling to submit may leave as civilians."

"But those who choose to remain as warriors will be buried here."

The surrendered shinobi wasted no ti.

They sprinted ho to bring their families.

Even many who had initially wanted to resist now found themselves reconsidering.

Survival mattered more than pride.

Hashirama remained silent.

He could not approve of these thods.

But neither could he deny their effectiveness.

The battlefield gradually cald.

Those stubborn enough to keep fighting were still being restrained by Hashirama.

Darkness settled over the area.

The fires that had consud nearby buildings had been extinguished by the shockwave from Ea.

Streetlamps had shattered.

At the center of the battlefield lay a vast crater.

Uzumaki Shuji stood atop a rooftop on the Uchiha side, Naruto sleeping peacefully behind him.

Any shinobi who attempted to break through were imdiately seized by the Chains of Heaven and crushed.

Eventually, footsteps echoed from all directions.

More and more people arrived.

At first, many had doubted the ssage.

But they ca anyway.

The sounds of crying never ceased.

Won and children made up the majority.

The first clan leader to arrive was Hiashi Hyuga.

His face was pale and conflicted.

"Hiashi Hyuga, on behalf of the Hyuga clan, pledges submission to the King."

He knelt on one knee.

"The King accepts."

Uzumaki Shuji nodded.

Hiashi quietly stepped aside.

After the Hyuga, the other clans did not take long to follow.

Civilians also flooded into the area, their faces full of terror as they stared at the enormous crater.

"Should we fight him to the death?"

Koharu Utatane asked in despair.

She had wanted to accompany Hiruzen earlier.

But he had only allowed shadow clones.

Just as Hiruzen feared, disaster had struck.

"Would it matter?"

Homura Mitokado gave a bitter smile.

"We cannot kill him."

"If we continue fighting, Konoha will be crippled."

"Other villages will descend on us."

"At best, we would survive as sothing like Kusagakure."

"And even then, we would have to live in fear of his return."

"Do not forget."

"He is only eight years old."

Koharu had no response.

Uzumaki Shuji waited in silence.

More and more clans arrived.

Ino-Shika-Cho.

Abura.

Inuzuka.

As dawn approached, nearly every major family had assembled.

Most wore numb expressions.

They could not accept the outco.

But they saw no hope in resisting.

Koharu and Homura had already committed suicide.

Before dying, they ordered the remaining ANBU to notify every shinobi in the village to submit to Uzumaki Shuji.

The final groups to arrive were the Sarutobi and Shimura clans.

At last, the eastern sky began to brighten.

Uzumaki Shuji rose into the air on the Chains of Heaven.

Everyone looked up.

As the sun rose, golden light bathed his figure.

He appeared almost divine.

"My subjects."

"Kneel."

His voice, amplified by mana, carried throughout the entire village.

A sea of people dropped to their knees.

The Uchiha erged from their compound and knelt as well.

Among them, Sasuke Uchiha stared upward in utter disbelief.

His tiny mind was overflowing with questions.

The other children whom Uzumaki Shuji had beaten up in the academy looked equally stunned.

"The King stands before you."

"The King grants you pardon."

"From this day onward, you are my people."

"All that you possess belongs to the King."

"And the King shall bear all that you carry."

Many looked up in surprise.

For so reason, those words sounded… reassuring.

System notifications flooded Uzumaki Shuji's mind.

His points soared as countless people formally submitted.

"From this day forth, you are citizens of the Empire of Uruk."

"And I am your King…"

"Uzumaki Shuji."

After formally declaring the nation's birth, Uzumaki Shuji imdiately began issuing orders.

"Fugaku Uchiha. Hiashi Hyuga."

"Lead your forces and eliminate any shinobi or civilians who refuse to appear."

"Those who have fled Konoha need not be pursued."

"Yes, my King!"

Neither man objected.

Fugaku now viewed Uzumaki Shuji as a god.

Hiashi was eager to prove himself before the new ruler.

"Nara Shikaku. Shibi Abura."

"Reorganize all shinobi forces."

"One hundred n per company."

"Ten n per squad."

"Hatake Kakashi."

"Take charge of maintaining order throughout the village."

"Stabilize the situation."

One order after another was issued.

Most people obeyed chanically.

Their minds were still in shock.

Though so remained restless, none dared act.

Finally, Uzumaki Shuji turned to Hashirama.

"Hashirama Senju."

"Help rebuild."

"And while you're at it, construct a palace atop the Hokage Monunt."

"It only needs to be serviceable for now."

"We'll replace it with sothing grander later."

Hashirama let out a long breath.

"…Fine."

He was furious.

But there was nothing he could do.

He silently cursed Tobirama for inventing Edo Tensei.

Even after death, he had been dragged back to witness this painful transformation.

For the ordinary villagers, it felt as though the world had turned upside down.

For the shinobi clans, however, it felt more like they had simply changed masters.

Yet all of them shared the sa uncertainty.

No one knew what the future would bring.

They understood what life as shinobi had always ant: endless battle.

But now?

They knew almost nothing about the ambitions of their new king.

They knew only one thing.

Konoha had fallen.
