"Wait... Succubus’s illusion?" Aether’s frown snapped sharper than before.

Xara nodded without hesitation. "Yes. Why?"

Aether’s frown deepened, his tone lowering. "Tell ... what would she do with sothing like that?"

Xara shrugged, her shoulders lifting lightly as if brushing it off. "Not sure. I was never told. I never got the information about what she did with those things after I handed them over."

Aether narrowed his eyes, his brows twitching as he leaned closer, voice edged with suspicion.

"You said before... you know Mary carries the Primordial Vampire Bloodline. That ans, no matter what, she cannot be killed. Right?"

Xara nodded. "Yes."

"Did you ever try anything with that?"

Xara shook her head at once. "No. It’s impossible for . The higher the quality of the blood, the harder it is to extract anything. And the blood of a Primordial Vampire... It’s not sothing I can extract easily. It’s a part of her very essence. With current Knowledge and technology... No!"

"I see..." Aether exhaled softly, his gaze hardening in thought. "Then what about... Morgana?"

"Hmm? Morgana... you an the succubus Queen?"

Aether gave a slow nod, his eyes narrowing with unease. "Have you ever given anything to her? Or even tried testing her blood? Anything at all?"

Xara frowned, tilting her head in thought, her long fingers tapping lightly against her arm.

"No. I never had a chance to get her blood. Especially... Mary herself handed her own blood for research, but not Morgana’s." She paused, nodding to herself as her brow furrowed.

"Yes... co to think of it... Mary was strangely adamant that I should use her blood instead of Morgana’s. Almost as if she didn’t want Morgana’s blood examined at all... but why?" She lifted her gaze back to Aether, her voice edged with suspicion. "Why do you ask?"

Aether forced a weak smile, though inside he wanted to shout at her.

Why are you asking , when I’m the one desperate for answers?

But anyway...

Mary was willing to hand over her own blood to Xara but not Morgana’s?

’Sothing is off... sothing dangerously hidden here,’ he thought with a dark frown curling his lips.

Aether straightened slightly, his voice lower. "So... if you extract the ability inside blood... would that an I could gain more power from it?"

Xara shook her head slowly, though a faint smile tugged at her lips.

"What, Aether? You want to beco even stranger than you already are?

You truly wish to gamble with such madness?"

Aether gave another faint, weary smile.

Xara sighed deeply,

"If that had been possible, the world would already be in flas, Aether.

Civilisations would have collapsed under the hunger of stolen blood. But that’s not how it works." She lifted her hand and pressed her fingertips against his chest, feeling the steady thrum beneath.

"In the end, everything depends on your bloodline.

If your blood cannot accept it, you will simply die.

If the extracted ability is stronger than your own... it will devour your bloodline whole, and you will die." Her eyes darkened.

"And if... by so miracle, you do accept it, there is still the risk that your mind will fracture. You might lose yourself entirely and awaken as a monster... or worse, as soone completely new, soone unrecognisable."

Her tone sharpened, almost like a teacher reciting forbidden law.

"Also, it is impossible to gain full ability. You can never inherit one hundred percent of what was extracted. Sotis the fragnt fades away without leaving even a trace.

That is why I tell you—there are countless disadvantages, and not a single certainty."

Her gaze turned heavier,

"And I have never tested such experints on others. As for the extraction... whenever I finished extracting a particular ability requested of , the subjects tied to that sa race or ability would be eliminated... I had to focus on another new one... different race and different ability."

Aether blinked in surprise. Honestly... this feels far too close to how his own bloodline functioned.

But the thing she was saying was not ability but the trait of the individual races... while he was able to extract their ability like their desired weapons.

Different... yes, but sa in a similar way!

But to accept that trait or ability... that ans...

He nodded carefully, deep in thought. ’Does that an... Mary’s blood is sohow similar to mine?’ he wondered, his frown deepening.

Sothing buried within Mary’s past stirred unease in him. Aether could sense secrets she kept, layers of truth sealed away beyond his reach.

He knew it was impossible to wrench them from her lips. Sothing had already been set in motion—sothing Mary and Morgana had conspired upon long before he was even born.

"So... that’s it?" Aether leaned forward.

But then Xara’s face tightened, her eyes narrowing as if recalling sothing she had tried to bury. "No... after that... she brought a strange liquid... sothing I had never seen before."

Aether’s brows furrowed sharply. "What do you an by strange?"

"She said..." Xara’s voice lowered, almost hesitant. "She said it was for the world... and for a new world yet to co. And for that vision... she needed to perfect it."

Aether’s frown deepened.

"I don’t know what it truly was... or what it was capable of doing. But when I tested the liquid, it... imdiately transford rational beings into wicked monsters, their bodies twisted with rainbow crystals growing out of them."

"..." Aether’s eyes widened in horror.

"She told I shouldn’t ask anything else. Just work to perfect it... make it so it could be accepted into the blood of everyone." Xara gave a small shrug, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.

"At that ti, I didn’t care. After all, that was my first ti seeing sothing like that.

A new challenge and a New type of blood... I was so fucking curious about it... so I began testing, trying to uncover what it truly was...." She continued.

Xara Seraphine’s POV

I looked at the werewolf tightly cuffed to the iron bed as it thrashed against its restraints, struggling to break free.

"Subject No.2448... guilty of raping a child and an old man..." I muttered coldly, noting it down in my records as I reached for a syringe filled with golden liquid that shimred faintly under the lamplight.

The werewolf’s eyes widened in sheer horror, and though its mouth was sealed shut with chains and cloth, its gaze begged for forgiveness. It struggled violently, but the cuffs dug deeper into its furred wrists. All it could do was plead with its eyes.

"I am not here to judge your sins..." I said in an indifferent tone.

I pressed the syringe against its forearm and slowly injected the golden liquid into its flesh.

The werewolf flinched, its eyes rolling back for a split second before its body began to convulse violently. Its muscles trembled, bones deforming as its fra twisted grotesquely. Cracks spread across its skin as its howl was swallowed in silence.

I let out a long sigh, turning away from the bed to write down the results.

"Failure," I noted with disappointnt, scratching the word into the record.

"Tsk. Another one... at this rate, we might as well test every last creature in this place."

Just then, a blurry figure appeared behind , her tone sharp and annoyed.

I sighed, shoulders heavy. "What do you expect from ? You didn’t give enough information."

Mary shook her head slowly, eyes gleaming with sothing unreadable. "Girl, the less you know, the longer you’ll live."

I shrugged, not that I cared. "Co on, bitch. I can already tell—it’s blood extracted from monsters, mixed with other unknown combinations.

The result? Monsterization. Unless I know exactly what kind of monster it ca from, I can’t create a counterbalance. Without that, I’m stabbing in the dark."

Mary frowned but nodded once. "Not bad... not bad at all. You figured out that much without being given the full picture. But no... even I don’t know where it originated."

I sighed again. It was obvious she didn’t want to reveal the truth.

Well, whatever. I would do what I could with what I had.

Mary’s tone hardened, her expression turning sharp. "But listen carefully. I need you to finish this as soon as possible. Otherwise... don’t expect to ever leave this underground lab alive, bitch." And with that, she disappeared, leaving only the cold echo of her warning.

I sighed once more, muttering to myself with a disappointed expression. "That’s what I get for accepting a deal with a bitch like her."
