Shaking its head slightly, it forced itself back into composure, adopting a serious yet asured tone.
"Even so, I remain curious. How did you two manage it? How did you increase your Points so quickly?"
Kai and Leon exchanged a glance before Kai tilted his head slightly.
"Does all-knowing Mother not already know?" Kai asked carefully, his brows knitting in confusion.
The snake visibly stiffened before responding quickly.
"Of course I know. Do you think I do not know?" Its voice rose sharply, its massive body coiled tighter as its aura flared.
"Do you take for so lowly monster impersonating the great Mother Goddess?
How dare you question !"
Its body began to rise higher, expanding, scales gleaming brighter as it hovered over them, growing larger and more imposing by the second.
Kai and Leon gulped simultaneously.
Leon imdiately slamd Kai’s head back to the ground with force.
"P-Please forgive him, Mother!" Leon cried out in panic. "He spoke without thinking! He would never doubt you. Right, Kai?"
He shot Kai a fierce glare filled with warning.
Kai’s entire body trembled as sweat dripped down his temple.
"Y-Yes, Mother! I would never doubt you," he stamred desperately. "I was only confused how all-knowing Mother seed unaware of our humble thods. I ant no disrespect—"
The snake’s eyes flashed dangerously.
"So you are questioning my powers, mortal?"
SLAP!
Leon imdiately grabbed Kai by the face and slapped his cheeks repeatedly, forcing his forehead back to the ground.
"N-No, no! Of course not, Mother!" Leon cried out in panic, bowing deeply before the massive snake. "Without your blessing, we would never have reached this level. He was just sleepy, that’s all.
He spoke nonsense without thinking. Please forgive us, Mother!"
Kai nodded rapidly, pressing his forehead against the dirt again and again.
"Yes, Mother! I would never doubt you. Please forgive this foolish child!"
The snake observed them for a long mont. Only when it felt no trace of suspicion or doubt did it slowly exhale, its massive body shrinking back to its previous size. The oppressive aura around them softened.
"It is not that I do not know," the snake said calmly. "I simply wished to hear it from my beloved children.
Is it wrong for a mother to want to hear about her children’s day from their own lips?"
Leon’s expression trembled. For a fleeting mont, sothing genuine flickered in his eyes.
"O-Of course not, Mother," he said softly. "You have every right. I... I have never had soone ask like that before."
Kai nodded firmly, "Yes. We should be grateful to have a Mother like you watching over us."
The snake’s lips curved faintly as the crystal on its forehead emitted a warm glow.
"Good... good..."
Only then did Kai and Leon release the breath they had been holding. They exchanged a glance filled with relief and exhaustion.
"Now," the snake continued gently, "tell your beloved Mother what truly happened to my children."
Kai straightened proudly, his earlier anxiety replaced by excitent.
"After we defeated those tallic figures... what did Vesperine call them again?"
"rsuit?" Leon tilted his head thoughtfully.
"Yes, that. The rsuits," Kai continued confidently. "After we killed them, Vesperine used her Origin Card. She hovered it over the fallen rsuits, and suddenly their Origin Cards popped out. She tapped them gently with hers, and... that was it. Her Points increased, and she shared them with us."
The snake narrowed its eyes slightly.
"That is all? Nothing else unusual?"
Kai blinked. "Is there supposed to be sothing else?" He tilted his head in confusion, clearly unaware of any hidden implication.
The snake paused, humming softly in thought before shaking its head.
"No. Of course not. It is rely... surprising." It quickly shifted its tone. "You two have exceeded even my expectations. Truly remarkable. I am honoured to have you among my chosen, the finest among them."
Kai and Leon’s faces flushed with pride, their eyes growing moist again.
"T-Thank you, Mother!"
"We are the ones who are honoured beyond words."
They sniffed lightly. After a brief mont, Kai hesitated before speaking again.
"M-Mother... if you do not mind, would you like to et my beloved wife? I am sure she would be happy to be blessed by you, please."
Leon imdiately shot him a glare.
"Our beloved wife, Mother."
Kai coughed awkwardly. "Right. Our beloved wife."
The snake suddenly stiffened slightly.
"Ah... yes. I ca here to warn you, did I not?" it said, as if rembering sothing important.
"It is about her."
"About her?" Kai and Leon asked at the sa ti.
Kai’s expression darkened.
"Is she in danger, Mother? Has that bastard finally revealed his true colours?"
Leon swallowed hard, "Is... is she going to be killed?"
Both of them were filled with fear.
After all, if Mother herself had descended to warn them, then the danger had to be real.
Sothing severe enough to bend divine laws!
Their beloved’s life could be at stake!!
That was the only explanation they could accept.
The snake said, "The deal she made with Aether..."
Kai and Leon flinched violently.
"H-How does Mother know—" Kai began instinctively.
Leon snapped his head toward him and struck him sharply on the shoulder.
"Of course she knows! She is the Mother Goddess, you fool! Stop questioning her again and again!"
Kai imdiately shut his mouth, shrinking slightly.
Leon lifted his gaze back to the snake.
"Mother... what kind of deal would harm Vesperine?" he asked cautiously.
The snake tilted its head slightly.
"Who said she would be hard?"
"Then?" they both asked at once, brows deeply furrowed.
If not her... then who?
The snake let out a low, almost amused chuckle.
"So innocent, my children." Its golden eyes glead faintly. "It is not her who stands to suffer.
It is you.
In fact, all three of you. Including Finnian."
Kai felt sothing cold crawl up his spine.
"According to the terms of the deal your Lady made," the snake continued calmly,
"She will soon marry Aether."
The world seed to stop.
Kai’s face drained of colour.
"W-What...?" he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"Indeed, my child," the snake affird.
"She proposed that she wanted to marry Aether."
"..."
"..."
Two sworn brothers turned to utter silence.
Their expressions emptied, as if their thoughts had been violently erased.
The snake continued rcilessly.
"And once she does, Aether will not simply share her. Just as he has taken won from others before, he will take her completely.
Permanently~
You will not remain by her side."
Its voice lowered,
"You will be discarded like unwanted remnants.
Like filthy dog shit!
I do not wish to see my children broken, so I ignored certain divine restrictions to co here personally and warn you."
Kai’s breathing grew uneven.
Leon’s fists clenched until his knuckles whitened.
"That man, Aether," the snake continued, "will conquer her heart in ways you cannot imagine. He will make her fall for him more deeply than she ever fell for any of you. And when that happens..."
The snake slowly shook its head as if it didn’t want to finish the sentence... so much pain~
The radiant halo behind it began to dim.
"It seems my ti is over," the snake hissed softly. "Protect what you love. Until next ti, my beloved children."
Its tail tightened around the crystal behind it.
Crack!
The crystal shattered.
A burst of blinding white light exploded outward, forcing Kai and Leon to shield their eyes.
"W-Wait, Mother!" Kai shouted desperately, reaching forward blindly into the flare.
But when the light faded, the yard was silent.
The bush rustled gently in the night breeze.
Nothing remained.
Kai and Leon stood there, staring blankly at the empty space where divinity had stood only monts ago.
The glow was gone.
The presence was gone.
Only the weight of her words lingered.
"Brother Leon," Kai said hollowly.
"Yes, Brother Kai," Leon answered just as quietly.
"What should we do?"
"Of course, we cannot allow this, no matter what," Leon said through clenched teeth, his voice trembling between fury and desperation. "Mother made it clear. That bastard Aether will conquer her. That ans..."
"H-He has sothing," Kai whispered, his face pale and shaking. "Sothing we never had. Sothing we never gave her..."
The thought alone pierced deeper than any blade.
Leon’s fists tightened until his nails dug into his palms.
"If that happens... we might never see her again," he said hoarsely.
Just speaking the possibility aloud made their chests tighten painfully. The night air suddenly felt suffocating.
The image of Vesperine standing beside another man, smiling, choosing soone else, shattered sothing fragile inside them.
Kai’s breathing grew uneven.
"W-We have to stop her," he said with a cracking tone.
"We must," Leon answered imdiately, his eyes burning with resolve. "We cannot sit and watch her walk into soone else’s arms."
Their fear twisted into determination!
Without another word, the two of them turned and began walking back toward the mansion. Their steps were heavy, dragging slightly against the gravel path.
Behind them, unnoticed in the dim grass, a small white snake slithered lazily across the ground.
Much smaller than before.
It flicked its tongue and watched their retreating backs.
"Creepy idiotic weirdos~ hisss~" it whispered under its breath still feeling violated by those two.

The snake stared at the Mansion before disappearing quietly into the darkness.
