"What are you doing?" Ashara's voice broke the silence, laced with curiosity.

She leaned in slightly, watching Victor, who was intently focused on the surgical microscope-like tool laid out before him in the classroom.

It wasn't just Ashara; the entire class was watching him with bated breath, each of them equally curious but they didn't want to make contact with him.

Victor didn't respond imdiately. He rely glanced at Ashara, his gaze fleeting and dismissive, before returning his full attention to the tool. Stay tuned with mvl

Ashara's lips curved into a slight pout. She didn't press him further, instead choosing to study him as he ticulously analyzed the intricate device, his expression unreadable but his concentration absolute.

'Tsk, This structure... it's so complex,' Victor mused silently, his mind racing as he examined the tool's delicate components, 'There's no way I could replicate this... my skills aren't anywhere near the level needed for sothing like this...' His thoughts were a mixture of frustration and admiration, his eyes narrowing as he attempted to decode the technology before him.

As his gaze wandered, he noticed a na engraved on the side of the tool.

'Kennedy...' he thought, a bitter taste filling his mouth, 'Even though that man was a pervert and utterly repulsive, there's no denying his talent. It's a sha that soone like him was capable of creating sothing so brilliant' Victor's thoughts lingered on the creator, a strange mix of respect and disdain churning within him.

anwhile,

"Let's eat together later..." Selene suggested casually, her tone warm and inviting. Aria, sitting beside her, responded with a bright smile, nodding in agreent.

"Sure, I don't mind eating with you," Aria replied, her voice carrying a light-hearted tone.

They indeed beca good friends!!

Selene's gaze then shifted to Lia, who had been silently observing the interaction with a furrowed brow. Sothing was clearly troubling her, and Selene could sense it.

"Lia? What's going on?" Selene asked, her voice tinged with concern.

"H-Huh? Nothing..." Lia stamred, snapping out of her deep thoughts.

Selene's concern deepened, her frown reflecting the worry she felt for her friend, "Is sothing bothering you, Lia? You look like you have sothing on your mind but can't bring yourself to say it. Why is that?" she pressed gently, hoping to coax the truth out of her.

Lia hesitated, before asking, "Selene, can I ask you sothing?"

"Of course," Selene replied, her voice softening further. "What's on your mind?"

"Why haven't you been preparing notes for Aether like you used to?" Lia's question was direct.

She couldn't shake the feeling that sothing was off. It had been weeks since Selene had last copied notes for Aether, a task she had once diligently carried out. Now, Lia was the only one doing it, and she couldn't help but wonder why.

'Did she give up? Tired of not getting any love back even though she worked hard? Is that why she's harassing him?' Lia's mind raced through various thoughts.

'Because he's here!' she wanted to shout, but she bit her tongue, forcing herself to maintain her composure. Instead, she offered a half-hearted explanation,

"Well, he said he'd manage on his own... so I figured I'd give him so space," Selene said, her voice lacking its usual conviction.

Lia wasn't convinced. Her frown deepened as she studied Selene's face, trying to decipher the emotions hidden behind her friend's words. "But... that's not like you," Lia finally said, her voice soft but insistent. "You've always been so dedicated, always looking out for him. What's changed?"

Selene instantly focused on soone else,

Selene shifted her focus to Helena, "Helena!" Helena's eyes were distant, her mind clearly elsewhere, lost in thoughts, Selene gave a give glance at Lia who had an expression, 'Sothing is fishy!'

"Helena?" Selene's voice was low, almost a whisper.

Helena startled, her cheeks flushing a deep pink as she snapped out of her thoughts. "W-What is it?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

There was a hint of fear in her eyes!

"We're going to eat together," Selene announced, her tone leaving no room for argunt. She gestured to Aria and Lia, who both waved with welcoming smiles, "Can you join us?"

Helena's eyes flicked between Selene, Aria, and Lia, her anxiety growing with each passing second. Finally, she hesitated before asking the question that had been gnawing at her, "I-Is Aether going to be there?"

Selene's lips curled into a knowing grin. She could see right through Helena's fears, and could practically taste the apprehension that radiated off her.

"What do you want, Helena? Should I invite him or not?" Selene's words were teasing, but there was an underlying sharpness that made Helena's heart race.

"H-Huh? What do you an?" Helena stamred, her voice barely above a whisper. The colour drained from her face as Selene's gaze bore into her as if she knew exactly what was going on in Helena's mind.

"We're fine with him being there," Selene continued, her voice now smooth and almost comforting. "But for you... well, that's a different story, isn't it?"

'D-Did she know?' Helena's thoughts spiralled out of control, her face turning a bright shade of red as she lowered her head in sha. She couldn't bear the thought of Selene knowing her secret.

Selene watched Helena's reaction with a mix of amusent and sothing darker, sothing that twisted her smirk into sothing almost predatory, "Don't worry," Selene said softly, "I didn't see anything... I just saw you running away, that's all." The lie rolled off her tongue effortlessly, and she watched as Helena sighed in relief, clearly believing her.

"W-Well... I..." Helena's voice trailed off, her mind racing for an excuse. She didn't want to face Aether, not now when her heart was still aching, when she was still struggling to control the emotions that threatened to overwhelm her. She needed ti, ti to sort through her feelings, to figure out what to do next.

Seeing Helena's hesitation, Selene leaned in closer, "Then it's settled. We'll make it a girls' night out!" Selene's tone was light, almost playful.

Helena blinked in surprise, She nodded slowly.

"No, she won't!" Finnian's voice cut through the air like a blade.

Selene turned to face him, her expression shifting to one of annoyance.

Without missing a beat, Selene turned back to Helena, completely ignoring Finnian, "We'll go after classes are over, okay?" Her tone was firm.

Helena glanced at Finnian, who was glaring at her with an intensity that made her shrink back slightly.

"Okay! Let's have a feast later!" Selene announced cheerfully, turning on her heel to head back to her seat. She didn't even spare Finnian a glance, her focus entirely on the plans she had just made.

Finnian's lips twitched in irritation. He reached out, trying to grab Selene's hand, "I'm talking to you," he growled. "She won't be co—"

But Finnian froze mid-sentence, his hand stopping in mid-air when he saw the look in Selene's eyes. They were cold, emotionless, a void where there had once been warmth. Her voice was flat, devoid of any feeling as she spoke, "I'm already doing my best for my beloved... Please don't make angry." There was a warning in her tone, a darkness that made Finnian take an involuntary step back.

With that, Selene walked away.
