Chapter 1339: Chapter 1339: Beat Up

“The arrival is ominous,” Julius Reed muttered these four words, yet there was not a hint of tension in his voice.

The attire of the man before him was starkly distinct from that of the average thugs of Ninth Street.

From a slight distance, he couldn’t quite make out the man’s features or the details of his clothing.

However, could he vaguely spot a Jade Pendant around the man’s waist?

Could it be that the man watching from afar was also Hagan Marsh’s foster child?

As for the miscellaneous matters of Ninth Street, he truly didn’t know much about them.

“If there’s trouble later, I will kill, and you should leave first,” Lillian Tompson took a step forward, positioning herself in front of Julius Reed.

“What a joke!” Julius Reed grabbed her shoulder and pulled Lillian Tompson back: “When has Julius Reed ever hidden behind a woman? Never before, and certainly not now.”

Having said this, he walked with an easy stride towards the gate of the electric fence.

Evergreen Vine.

The large-scale cultivation of this plant in Niu Town must be intimately connected to Isabella Warm.

Yet the idea of replacing Blue Sea Green Vine with Evergreen Vine was utterly impossible.

Even though they were considered close relatives.

Inhaling the scent of Evergreen Vine, Julius Reed felt his trip to Swimming City was not in vain.

The potential gains, surely, would be more than this.

Seeing Julius Reed walking towards him, the extraordinary straw-clad man stopped his movents and conversation, gazing fixedly.

His minions behind him all clenched their hands on their weapons, adopting a defensive stance.

“My Lord, be cautious,” Lillian Tompson whispered.

This was Niu Town, the main base of Ninth Street.

A conflict would easily reveal their tracks.

If Isabella Warm learned they were in Swimming City, it might spook the snake in the grass.

“Those who should be careful are them,” Julius Reed still remained unhurried, slowly making his way to the entrance.

Passing through the wire fencing, he ca face to face with the straw-clad man of distinguished status.

But separated by the black veil, neither could clearly see the other’s face.

“Delaney, why have you beco mute after all this ti?” the man broke the silence first.

He removed the bamboo hat from his head, revealing a face full of scars.

Only then did Julius Reed notice sothing was amiss.

Although the man was dressed in straw clothing, the threads in the garnt were actually gold.

And on his bamboo hat, there were several shining diamonds.

The materials were far superior to those worn by the common folks.

Julius Reed looked closer.

Well, I’ll be!

The straw garnt, unexpectedly, had a row of jade pieces at the waist.

But isn’t the jade burial suit ant for the dead?

A perfectly alive man, why wear a longevity suit?

The nouveau riche is not to be feared.

In terms of luxury, Julius Reed had never lost to anyone.

But one shouldn’t be so uncultured as to wear the dead’s clothes on the living, right?

“Brother Delaney, I’m talking to you!” The man seed sowhat impatient, frowning slightly and asked, “What? Have you actually beco mute?”

His eyes were firmly fixed on Julius Reed’s face, as if trying to see through the veil and discern the true face underneath the bamboo hat.

The minions around him were visibly tense, their gazes also fixed on Julius Reed.

But Julius Reed did not speak; instead, his eyes dropped to the jade ornant hanging around the man’s waist.

Nine-rank jade.

It looked very similar to Delaney’s, yet there was a difference.

Delaney’s jade pendant had a number carved on it, seven.

The one before him bore the number four.

According to the ancient hierarchy, the man’s status within Ninth Street could be higher than Delaney’s.

In this case, the jade pendant would be of no use.

“Let take a look!” The man’s gaze turned dark, and he made a motion to remove the bamboo hat from Julius Reed’s head.

Snap!

But Julius Reed’s hand swiftly caught the man’s wrist in mid-air.

With a fierce push, he sent the man stumbling.

“George Four!” The lackeys hurried to support the man, their eyes filled with hostility.

Lillian Thompson also subconsciously moved closer, standing to the left of Julius Reed, wanting to help.

Once a fight broke out, it would definitely be troubleso.

This is Bull Town, after all!

Starting a conflict was the least effective solution.

“Delaney!” The man called George Four’s face turned instantly ashen!

“Get lost!”

He angrily pushed his own henchn away, pointed at Julius Reed, and cursed: “You little bastard, not calling Brother Four is one thing, but now you dare to shove in public?”

But Julius Reed didn’t even bother with him and turned to walk away.

“Stop right there!” The man bellowed angrily, leaping forward with his right hand reaching for Julius Reed’s shoulder!

Being ignored in public was a blow to his pride.

Bang!

“Ouch!”

George Four, in all his glory, was punched squarely in the face and flipped over like a turtle, letting out a series of miserable cries.

He clutched his nose, blood oozing non-stop.

The Jade Pendant at his waist had also broken into several pieces.

“George Four!”

On the bluestone road, several lackeys rushed up again, only to be pushed away once more.

“Get lost! I must teach him a lesson today!” George Four wiped his face with his sleeve, fuming as he drew his saber from his waist, pointing at Julius Reed’s retreating back: “Delaney, today I must see who’s better!”

Having said that.

He gripped the saber with both hands, his black leather shoes stepping on the bluestone road as he rapidly closed in on Julius Reed.

Bang!

Another sound of sothing heavy hitting the ground.

George Four’s saber flew from his grip, and he curled up on the ground in pain.

His bones collided with the bluestone road almost falling apart.

This ti, the lackeys stood still, not daring to co forward.

“You bunch of trash! Can’t even help up!” George Four roared, scaring the lackeys who dared not delay any longer, promptly helping up the son of Commander Marsh.

anwhile, Julius Reed had already walked far away.

“Should we chase after him?” soone asked.

“Seventh Master has never been a match for you physically, and today he seems …”

Slap!

The lackey didn’t finish his words and was slapped across the mouth.

“Seventh Master! Anyone who dares call him Seventh Master again, I’ll chop you to pieces!” George Four’s mouth had turned purplish, and his right eye was swollen black.

“Imdiately follow those two, and report any movent to at once!” he spat a mouthful of bloody spit onto the ground, his breathing growing more and more labored.

“Won’t there be trouble?” Lillian Thompson asked worriedly.

Coming up and giving a beatdown—if that man insisted on blowing things up, how would it end?

“Hagan Marsh is in town for a eting; the rest will depend on who has the stronger fist! Now that I’ve given that kid a good thrashing, the others are unlikely to trouble us.”

Julius Reed strolled leisurely on the asphalt road, surveying Bull Town with his eyes.

Buildings were sparse when he first arrived in the town.

But as he walked further in along the black asphalt roads, the buildings beca increasingly dense.

The structure of the major towns around Swimming City was rather simple, all squared or built along the two sides of a main road.

Having such orderly setup had its advantages in tis of war.

Suddenly, the number of guards ahead increased, and even shouts and screams of fighting could be heard.

“Be cautious as we enter the military camp.”

Julius Reed whispered a reminder.

The main camp of the Nine Routes was not like the outside; once inside, the level of danger would significantly increase.

“Seventh Master!”

The sharp-eyed gate guard noticed the Jade Pendant at Julius Reed’s waist and quickly saluted.

“Seventh Master is a bit out of character today, isn’t he?” After the two passed, the gate guards exchanged looks: “Normally, he’d definitely be cursing and swearing.”

“Has Delaney gone in?”

Just as the two guards were about to chat, George Four’s voice suddenly erupted.
