"Stand still."
Yuk Jian drove the car over. "Get in."
Chuzheng glanced around the car. "You want to get in your car?" Wasn’t it forbidden before?
"..."
"Get in!" Yuk Jian raised his voice.
Only then did Chuzheng open the car door and get in.
Yuk Jian didn’t ask anything, just glanced at his phone for a while, then started the car and drove out of the hospital.
Chuzheng realized this wasn’t the way to Yuk Jian’s ho; it was more like the way to her place.
Just as she was about to say sothing, Yuk Jian turned on the car’s music, and gentle tunes filled the entire car cabin.
In the end, Chuzheng didn’t speak, and the two of them remained quiet.
Yuk Jian parked the car outside her apartnt complex. "Go to sleep once you’re ho."
"Oh."
Chuzheng pushed open the car door and got out.
Yuk Jian hesitated. "I’m off tomorrow. Don’t go to the hospital."
Chuzheng’s fingers rested on the car door. "Then where should I go?" Her tone was as if she were asking about today’s weather.
"..."
Where you go is none of my business!
The thought circled in Yuk Jian’s mind a few tis before finally saying, "Stay ho and rest, don’t go anywhere!"
Chuzheng: "..."
Yuk Jian watched Chuzheng enter the complex, only starting the car to leave once he couldn’t see her anymore.
While driving past a road, Yuk Jian suddenly recalled that she sat around here that day.
Why did she leave the hospital that late at night?
And why did she almost fall ill?
Yuk Jian exhaled. What business of his was it?
-
Chuzheng learned about Yuk Jian’s accident three days later.
Yuk Jian had perford several consecutive surgeries, and while on his way ho, he got into a car accident. Fortunately, he was fine, just suffered so injuries.
Chuzheng found the hospital room and pushed open the door to enter. Yuk Jian was alone, having taken off his white coat and changed into a striped hospital gown.
The plain hospital gown seed to elevate in class when worn by him.
Yuk Jian looked up and noticed Chuzheng, surprise flashing through his handso, picturesque eyebrows. "Why are you here?"
Who inford her?
No one had told Chuzheng; she had seen Doctor Hou’s WeChat monts.
She walked to the side of his bed, her face stern. "How’s the injury?"
Sure enough, without the Good Person Card around, accidents happen instantly!!
Confronted with Chuzheng’s gaze, the words Yuk Jian intended to say changed. "Not serious, I’ll be fine in a few days."
Yuk Jian’s foot injury was sowhat serious and might take so ti to heal.
Chuzheng dragged a chair over and sat down. "How did it happen?"
Yuk Jian raised a hand to rub his brow. "I haven’t been resting well these past few days, fatigue driving." The hospital had a lot of patients recently, especially since a doctor had left earlier, increasing their departnt’s workload.
Yuk Jian hesitantly asked, "How did you know..."
Chuzheng stared at him dangerously. "You weren’t planning to tell ?" If she hadn’t seen Doctor Hou’s monts, she would still know nothing!
"Miss Mi..." Yuk Jian weighed his words. "You’re rely my patient; there’s no need for us to get over-involved." So, it wasn’t necessary for her to know about his incidents.
"I don’t think so." Chuzheng crossed her arms, her tone cold. "That’s just what you think."
Yuk Jian: "???"
Chuzheng pressed her hands on the edge of the bed, leaning slightly forward, peering into the depths of his pupils. "Doctor Yuk, I want to get over-involved."
Yuk Jian: "!!!"
The words ’I want to get over-involved’ echoed incessantly in Yuk Jian’s ears, resonating for most of the day without fading, and even seed to take root and sprout in his heart.
Chuzheng stayed in the hospital room, sohow procuring a caregiver to handle all of his care.
This setup made Yuk Jian feel as if he was paralyzed.
"Doctor Yuk... Oh, Miss Mi’s here too?" Doctor Hou, having finished work, ca by to check on Yuk Jian and, upon seeing Chuzheng, imdiately winked at Yuk Jian.
Yuk Jian: "..."
With Doctor Hou’s presence, the hospital room felt lively, but his visiting ti was limited, and he soon left.
As he was leaving, he whispered in Yuk Jian’s ear, "Doctor Yuk, go for it!! Hope you get out of singlehood!!"
Yuk Jian: "..."
Once Doctor Hou had left, Yuk Jian called Chuzheng over.
"Let’s talk."
"Talk about what?" Chuzheng sat down.
"Miss Mi, I’m just your attending doctor. We have a doctor-patient relationship. My duty is to be responsible for your life..."
Chuzheng nodded seriously. "You are to be responsible for my life, both now and in the future." No problem!
Yuk Jian’s heart inexplicably trembled for a mont, the strange feeling still unsettled in his mind as he heard his own sowhat flustered voice say, "That doesn’t count."
"Why doesn’t it count?" Doesn’t the Good Person Card know the water spilled can’t be retrieved?
Yuk Jian took a deep breath and slowly said, "What I an is, as a doctor, saving lives is my duty. So, Miss Mi, if there’s any misunderstanding, I hope you don’t dwell on it; it’s just my duty as a doctor."
Chuzheng narrowed her eyes slightly. "Do you bring your patients ho for als?"
"That was the dean’s assignnt." Yuk Jian felt helpless inside. "Moreover, I didn’t plan to take you ho for dinner at that ti."
"Do you usually take your patients ho?"
"... It was so late then, as your attending doctor, it was the right thing to do." Yuk Jian lowered his gaze to his clasped hands. "I didn’t an anything else. If it caused you to misunderstand, that was my fault, and I apologize."
"You don’t want to be with ?"
Yuk Jian’s fingertips tightened. "I..."
Chuzheng suddenly clutched her chest, claiming her heart problem, ready to have her way: "Think carefully before you speak."
Chuzheng never cared what ans she used, as long as they were effective.
Yuk Jian: "!!"
It was obvious that Chuzheng intended to latch onto Yuk Jian — capturing him first was the ga plan!
If Yuk Jian spoke, Chuzheng would imdiately feign illness before him, effectively silencing him.
In his heart, he sowhat understood that Chuzheng was threatening him, but what if his words genuinely agitated her?
Yuk Jian rubbed his temples in distress.
His peripheral vision caught the sternly ’threatening’ young girl beside him, making his eyelids twitch.
Chuzheng didn’t press him, and Yuk Jian didn’t answer that question. The two remained ’peaceful’ in the ward without ntioning their earlier conversation.
"It’s getting late, you should head ho." Yuk Jian checked the ti.
"I’ll take care of you."
"The hospital environnt is basic, you..." Yuk Jian paused. "There’s no need for you to stay here at night. You should head back."
"I can."
Yuk Jian’s expression turned cold. "If you truly want to be with , go ho tonight."
"..." You say it as if it counts.
Chuzheng was accustod to doing things her way, so even as a Good Person Card, she wouldn’t compromise when she didn’t want to.
So the boss entirely ignored Yuk Jian and expressionlessly pulled open the accompanying bed beside her, intending to sleep here.
Yuk Jian felt like he was the one with a heart condition.
Even if he didn’t, he was bound to be angered into having one sooner or later.
"You’re just not going to listen to ?"
