Chapter 1160: Chapter 1160: Love at First Sight in dicine (Part 17)
“I can predict my own physical condition.” Chuzheng’s tone was a bit cold, but very certain, “Doctor Yuk, you don’t need to worry.”
Yuk Jian was montarily stunned, did she say she could predict her own physical condition?
Most people would just say they have a sense, and that there wouldn’t be any problems, but wouldn’t say sothing like that.
Yuk Jian realized that he probably couldn’t get rid of Chuzheng. It seed that her family wasn’t around, and her caregiver was a hired maid, probably not much help.
Yuk Jian took a step back, “I’ll have the nurse bring you an extra bed. Please wait a mont.”
Chuzheng looked at the narrow companion bed, then at Yuk Jian’s bed, and did not object.
The nurse quickly brought and set up the bed, constantly glancing at Chuzheng, almost wanting to rush over and ask about her relationship with Doctor Yuk.
Yuk Jian didn’t look at Chuzheng; he was reading internal docunts. The nurse, perhaps noticing his displeasure and Chuzheng’s icy deanor, didn’t dare to speak, quickly tidied up and left the ward.
Chuzheng also didn’t speak much, lying down and taking out her phone to play.
“You should go to sleep.” At so point, Yuk Jian had put down what he was doing and was looking at her sideways.
“It’s still early.”
Yuk Jian stared at her.
Chuzheng turned her back to him.
Yuk Jian felt a “rebellious child at ho” vibe, as he reached down to take the phone from her hands, “If you want to stay here, you have to listen to .”
“You’re so annoying.”
Yuk Jian retreated back, leaning against the edge, “Then you should go ho.”
“I’m not going back.”
There’s no way you’re tricking into going back!
If it weren’t for you being my Good Person Card, I wouldn’t be here enduring this, you little heartless thing.
Several thoughts swirled in Chuzheng’s mind, perhaps feeling indignant, she crossed her arms as if to hug herself to calm down.
Yuk Jian glanced at the person with their back to him, then looked down at the phone. She had just opened a video app, pausing on the hopage.
Yuk Jian scrolled through the history records, all sorts of dramas, either currently popular or once popular.
The expressionless young girl actually enjoys such shows…
Yuk Jian recalled a term from the internet, “gap moe.”
He scrolled further down, the style changed to obscure but professional content.
There were even historical items…
Yuk Jian placed the phone aside, lay back down without looking at anything else, and turned off the light.
–
Chuzheng said she was taking care of him, but in fact, didn’t do much, at most handing him a glass of water. The doctors and nurses of the surgical departnt ford groups to watch her daily upon realizing she was there.
Soone discovered that she was the wealthy benefactor who donated so equipnt to the hospital recently, sparking a flurry of rumors.
Yuk Jian occasionally received looks from colleagues that were either ambiguous or gossipy.
Consequently, Yuk Jian didn’t want to linger at the hospital. As soon as he was cleared for discharge, he proceeded with the discharge procedures imdiately.
The hospital had brought in doctors from elsewhere, allowing him so ti for recuperation.
Chuzheng carried their belongings, taking Yuk Jian back to his apartnt.
Yuk Jian wasn’t keen on this, but could not refuse!
The girl simply gave no opportunity for refusal; like the ti with the dinner issue, before you figured out how to decline, she’d already arranged the car, just waiting for you to get in.
Yuk Jian and Chuzheng entered the apartnt lobby, only to find both elevators marked with maintenance signs.
A building manager stood nearby watching.
“The elevators are malfunctioning, you’ll need to take the stairs.” The building manager said.
Yuk Jian frowned slightly, “Both elevators are down?”
The manager was also troubled, “Yes, and I’m not sure why; they’re still being repaired, and it might take a while.”
Normally, taking the stairs would be no issue, but Yuk Jian couldn’t exert his leg too much; climbing would be challenging.
Unfazed by her physical limitations, the ever-bold Chuzheng offered to demonstrate her ‘boyfriend power’: “Want to carry you?”
Yuk Jian couldn’t help but twitch his eye, assessing her slight fra, taking a deep breath, “I don’t want to beco a murderer.”
Yuk Jian supported himself with a crutch, heading toward the stairs.
Chuzheng looked up and down at herself, finally just muttering a curse silently in her heart.
This lousy body.
Yuk Jian’s apartnt was on the sixteenth floor; it was difficult given his condition, so he walked a bit at a ti until the fifteenth floor.
From excessive reliance on his leg while climbing, Yuk Jian felt pain, cold sweat beading on his forehead, as he stepped onto a stair, perhaps unsteady, his body suddenly tipped downward.
Just when Yuk Jian thought he would fall, soone behind him held him up.
A warm hand clasped his wrist, gently stabilizing him.
Yuk Jian imdiately withdrew from Chuzheng’s grasp, leaned against the wall to catch his breath, startled by his own large reaction, he hesitantly looked at Chuzheng.
She remained impassive, simply asking, “Can you still walk?”
Yuk Jian parted his lips but ultimately didn’t say a word, just nodded.
She knew his habits, consistently respecting them, avoiding any physical contact with him.
Yuk Jian couldn’t fathom this girl.
Sotis she was domineering, leaving no room for negotiation, yet occasionally small gestures made one feel warm inside.
–
As soon as they entered the apartnt, Yuk Jian went straight to the bedroom, erging later in a different set of clothes.
Yuk Jian offered her a glass of water, limping to check the fridge’s stock.
“Hungry?”
“Hmm.”
“I’ll just whip up sothing quickly then.”
Chuzheng looked at his leg.
As if reading her mind, Yuk Jian assured, “Cooking is no problem.”
Perhaps due to his recent hospitalization, there weren’t many groceries at ho; what he called casual was really just a simple bowl of noodles.
After eating, Chuzheng swiftly put the bowl into the dishwasher before Yuk Jian could, her movents rough yet bold, as if throwing a bomb instead of a bowl.
Yuk Jian listened to the sounds, calculating how many bowls were probably broken.
But once Chuzheng was done, his bowls were surprisingly intact.
Leaning against the table in light-colored loungewear, under the crystal lamp, Yuk Jian’s features were refined to near perfection.
Chuzheng walked over, her gaze eting his, pausing her steps slightly, their eyes silently communicating.
As Chuzheng approached, Yuk Jian suddenly averted his gaze, turning to leave the dining area, returning to the living room.
Chuzheng rubbed her fingertip against her clothes nonchalantly, following him over.
Yuk Jian noticed her lingering presence, “You don’t plan on staying here, do you?”
“Can’t I?”
“It’s fine with the hospital, but… this is my ho, it’s not right for a single man and woman to be alone in a room.” Yuk Jian spoke slowly, as if enunciating each word.
“I don’t mind.”
“I do.”
The last three words were said by Yuk Jian with utmost seriousness.
Ultimately, Chuzheng didn’t stay, only going downstairs to buy so things and restocked his fridge.
Yuk Jian looked at it; she had simply filled it up—a hodgepodge of everything.
“Call if anything cos up.” Chuzheng paused, “I suppose you have my number?”
“Hmm.” Yuk Jian saw Chuzheng out the door, “Be careful on your way.”
