“Maybe Group Leader Han just likes simple dishes,” soone next to them chid in.
“Haha, could be.”
Han Jing suddenly slamd what he was holding onto the table, pointing at the man who spoke first: “Did you snitch on just now?”
“Damn!”
The man was hit by a file and instantly stood up from his chair: “So what if I did? You dare to do it but don’t let people talk about it?”
Han Jing felt frustrated, suddenly throwing a punch, but the man wasn’t a pushover, and the two turned the office area into a wrestling ring.
The man had trained, while Han Jing was no match, got beat up pretty badly, and left the company looking so disheveled that even the company people felt a bit sorry for him.
“I really didn’t expect that Group Leader Han, such a gentle person, would cheat.”
“People can’t be judged by appearances.”

Yuk Jian appeared for just a second, still sowhat blurred; no one really knew whose side he was on.

Yuk Jian had a day off; he initially planned to take Chuzheng out for a walk, but it suddenly rained halfway, and Yuk Jian had to return to the apartnt.
“I’m going to buy so stuff downstairs,” Yuk Jian sent Chuzheng inside: “Stay here on your own for a bit.”
“Okay.”
Chuzheng wandered around the apartnt for a while, then sat on the sofa and turned on the TV.
Yuk Jian ca back soon, carrying quite a lot of stuff, glanced at Chuzheng: “I’ll make you sothing tasty later.”
“Everything you make is delicious,” Chuzheng comnted honestly.
“Are you just trying to sweet-talk ?”
“No, I’m telling the truth.”
“You’ve never tried anything else I cooked, how do you know it’s all good?” She’s only eaten als I’ve made a few tis, how does she know everything is tasty?
… Though hearing that makes one feel happy inside.
“…” Chuzheng tried to recall what she’d seen in TV dramas, reciting an onscreen line: “Anything you make is delicious.”
Chuzheng watched Yuk Jian’s expression, catching even his smallest facial changes. Yuk Jian was initially taken aback, then he lowered his head, the corners of his mouth slightly lifting, turning away before Chuzheng could see.
Chuzheng: “…”
This isn’t right!!
Why doesn’t he act all coy with ?

Yuk Jian organized the stuff; it was still early, so he went upstairs, changed into loose household clothes, then grabbed a book and sat next to Chuzheng.
“What are you watching?”
“Nothing,” Chuzheng moved her phone aside, preventing Yuk Jian from seeing the screen.
This sort of thing is okay for her to watch alone.
Having others see it doesn’t fit the big boss image.
Yuk Jian had seen what she was watching from behind earlier, silently opened the book, reminded her: “Don’t stare at your phone too long.”
“Oh.”
Rain gently pattered outside, the two sat quietly side by side, Yuk Jian reading his book, Chuzheng looking at her phone. The living room felt eerily silent.
Yuk Jian didn’t know how long he’d been reading, closed the book, and turned his head to et Chuzheng’s gaze.
The girl leaned against the sofa edge, propping her chin in one hand, staring at him intently and focused.
Yuk Jian inexplicably felt a bit nervous: “Why… are you staring at ?”
Even he wasn’t sure what he was nervous about.
It was just an inexplicable feeling…
The girl’s eyelashes as black as raven feathers lightly trembled, her voice cool and clear, rging with the rain sounds outside, reaching his ears: “Didn’t you say not to look at my phone for too long?”
Yuk Jian’s breathing faltered, his voice slightly dry: “So you’re staring at instead?”
Chuzheng questioned back: “Can’t I stare at you?” You won’t let look at my phone, won’t let look at you – so what should I look at!?
Chuzheng suddenly put down her hand, scooted over from the other side.
The distance between them quickly shortened, shocking Yuk Jian into moving backward, leaning against the opposite armrest.
“Wh…”
Before Yuk Jian could finish his sentence, the girl unexpectedly kissed him.
Can’t stare, then kissing should be okay!

Yuk Jian pushed Chuzheng away, almost jumping from the sofa, rushing towards the bathroom.
The sound of water rushed past, gradually rging with the rain from outside.
Leaning against the sink, Yuk Jian wondered if he felt disgusted.

Yuk Jian scooped more water to rinse his mouth.
“Don’t you think tap water isn’t all that clean?” You have such a cleanliness fetish yet you overlook it!!

Yuk Jian almost swallowed the water, hurriedly spitting it out, but still left him choking badly.
Chuzheng stepped forward and patted his back: “Does one kiss justify this reaction?”
He turned off the water, looking at the girl standing beside him in the mirror: “No, it’s just… I wasn’t prepared, you were too sudden… don’t overthink it.”
“Are you prepared now?”
“Ah?”

Yuk Jian practically fled from the bathroom, distressed that he’d installed an open-plan kitchen back then with nowhere to hide.
“Do you need help?”
“No, no need,” Yuk Jian bowed his head and cracked an egg, initially planning to separate the yolk and white, but upon Chuzheng suddenly approaching, his hand slipped, and the entire egg fell into the bowl.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” Then I’m leaving!
Yuk Jian glanced at Chuzheng from the corner of his eye, seeing her serious expression, fearing his rejection would make her overthink. Hesitantly, he pushed a bag of mushrooms toward her: “You could wash these.”
Chuzheng: “…”
Since the words were spoken, Chuzheng felt it inappropriate to back out, after all the Good Person Card was hers. She took the stuff to wash.
Yuk Jian occasionally watched Chuzheng in his peripheral vision, his mind filled with chaotic thoughts flashing by.
Stop overthinking!!
Yuk Jian quickly pushed those thoughts away, focusing on cooking seriously.
Dinner felt sowhat silent; Yuk Jian wanted to break the silence but awkwardly recalled earlier events, leaving him speechless.

After dinner, Yuk Jian suggested Chuzheng take a nap.
Chuzheng did feel a bit sleepy, agreeing to the arrangent.
When she woke up, it was nearly three in the afternoon, sitting on the bed for a couple of minutes before going downstairs to find Yuk Jian.
Yuk Jian had drawn the living room curtains, watching a movie; Chuzheng walked over.
“Awake?” Yuk Jian heard the sound, turned his head: “Did you sleep well?”
Chuzheng sat on the sofa: “Quite alright.”
She glanced at Yuk Jian, wavering between ‘pulling him over’ and ‘moving closer herself’, finally opting to lean in – her body too weak, if Yuk Jian struggled, it’d be a loss in a fight. But leaning in herself is different, Yuk Jian wouldn’t dare push her!

Yuk Jian didn’t expect Chuzheng would lean in, pausing for a mont before lifting his arm, letting Chuzheng lean into his embrace.
The movie was in a foreign language, already halfway through; Chuzheng didn’t know what it was about.
“What was shown earlier?” Chuzheng asked Yuk Jian.
Yuk Jian rewound it to the beginning.
“…”
