Chapter 1172: Chapter 1172: Love at First Sight (29)

Chuzheng and Yuk Jian mostly go about their own lives, because Yuk Jian is really busy.

Sotis, even when a vacation is planned, it gets canceled last minute due to an unexpected situation at the hospital.

Chuzheng doesn’t really mind. She does what she needs to do, occasionally sending snacks to their departnt, and this extravagant behavior is unanimously praised by everyone in the departnt.

Yuk Jian asks her not to send food, and she agrees readily, but next ti she does it again anyway.

Yuk Jian has no choice but to accept the departnt’s overwhelming praise and blessings.

Yuk Jian never understood why the Yuk Family would let him do as he pleased until he went back one day to retrieve sothing and overheard Mother Yuk and Father Yuk talking.

“That little girl is quite sothing. It’s all thanks to her that our Yuk Family managed to secure these deals.”

“Is Yuk Jian with her?”

“Yes. A marriage alliance with the Duan Family isn’t bad, but there’s too much involvent on their side, and if things get tangled, it might not help us at all. Since this girl is capable, why not choose her?” says Mother Yuk, her words infused with a businesswoman’s shrewdness and assertiveness.

Yuk Jian pushes the door open.

The voices inside suddenly cease, and both people in the room turn to look at him.

Yuk Jian stares at the two people referred to as his ‘parents’: “You used to treat as a tool for display, what do you consider now? Sothing that can be sold, perhaps?”

Father Yuk responds sternly: “What nonsense are you speaking? This Yuk Family will be yours in the future anyway!”

Mother Yuk remains silent, clearly agreeing with Father Yuk’s sentint.

Despite their business union, he’s their only child, so Yuk Family is certainly ant for him to inherit.

“I don’t care; give it to whoever you want!”

Yuk Jian turns away to leave.

Father Yuk angrily hurls sothing, and it crashes loudly: “Ungrateful brat!”

Coming back from outside, Chuzheng imdiately notices a familiar figure standing by the apartnt building.

He’s leaning against the wall, one foot pressed against it and the other slightly stretched forward, showcasing his long legs perfectly.

His head is lowered, staring at the ground as though sothing there captivates him.

Chuzheng approaches with a few quick steps: “Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at work?”

Yuk Jian hears Chuzheng’s voice and visibly hesitates. A few seconds later, he frowns and looks at her: “Where have you been in such hot weather?”

He stands downstairs because he assus she’s upstairs and never imagines she’d co in from the outside, catching him unawares.

“Went out to buy sothing.” If it weren’t for that bastard making go out and splurge, I wouldn’t have gone! Chuzheng swipes her card to open the door and pulls him inside: “Why are you looking for ?”

Yuk Jian withdraws his hand, his eyes slightly deepened: “What kind of agreent have you made with my mom?”

Chuzheng initially intended to say it’s nothing, but judging by Yuk Jian’s expression, she guesses he’s discovered sothing.

Chuzheng cos clean without hesitation: “I gave her money, and she agreed to let us be together.”

Yuk Jian: “That’s it?”

Chuzheng: “What else?”

He knows full well the type of person his mom is; she’s capable of even selling his marriage, let alone her son.

Yuk Jian clenches his fists, his voice low and hoarse: “Do you guys… consider a commodity? A thing to be priced and traded at will?”

W-what?

I didn’t!

Chuzheng feels she’s being more wronged than Dou E.

That’s how the Good Person Card sees her?

“Yuk Jian, I’ve never thought of it that way. I’ve spent a lot of money for your right to freely decide, whether to agree or not, it’s your choice.” Do I need to go to such lengths for coercion?

[…] Sis, what kind of strange words are these?

The King’s Account doesn’t dare show up now; it feels Sis is about to explode with anger.

Yuk Jian recalls what Mother Yuk said at that ti… Right, she said she wouldn’t interfere with him anymore.

Chuzheng doesn’t want to explain further and blandly presses the elevator button: “Calm down yourself.”

The term paying money to suffer refers to people like , foolish and rich.

I’m the one feeling wronged!

Who can I talk to?

Yuk Jian watches Chuzheng head towards the elevator, inexplicably panicked, and pulls her back before she steps in: “I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to take it out on you.”

Since his birth, he’s been confined to a ticulously planned life.

The only ti he rebelled was when he chose to study dicine instead of following their plans.

Yet even that couldn’t liberate him; it doesn’t matter what he studies, for them, it all makes no difference in the end.

Suddenly hearing about this…

Chuzheng tells herself to cool down, to settle, and suppresses the urge to walk away from him.

Poor thing.

Must sympathize with him!

Can’t get angry.

Trying hard to be a good person today as well!

Trying hard!

Be a good person!

Having reassured herself psychologically, Chuzheng turns to hug him tightly: “I won’t make a transaction involving you.”

Yuk Jian’s body stiffens slightly. After a while, his dangling arms wrap tightly around Chuzheng, his face buried in the crook of her neck.

Ding—

The elevator beside them opens, and soone steps out, startled by the sight of people embracing outside, they retreat a few steps.

Chuzheng pulls Yuk Jian, stepping into the opened elevator.

It’s Yuk Jian’s first ti at Chuzheng’s place; before, he only dropped her off at the door and never went in.

Aunt Lin brings Yuk Jian a glass of water, then quickly returns to her room.

Yuk Jian holds the glass and takes a few sips: “Are you angry?”

Chuzheng is expressionless: “No.” I’m ready to explode!

“Don’t be mad, I just…” Yuk Jian wants to explain but doesn’t know where to start, ultimately only saying: “I was wrong.”

Chuzheng ignores him, sitting opposite, crossing her legs, just staring at him.

“I truly know I was wrong.”

“Where were you wrong?”

“I shouldn’t have thought of you like that.”

Yuk Jian’s attitude is good in admitting mistakes, and he deeply recognizes where he went wrong.

Chuzheng props her foot against the table, her stance suddenly turning rogue, her tone even more domineering: “Even if I did make a deal with her, what could you do?”

Yuk Jian: “…”

What could he do… He couldn’t do anything.

Yuk Jian stares at the water in his glass: “Since I was a child, I’ve had everything planned out on a schedule, down to the minute, even als and sleep are prescribed. Every day, my personal ti doesn’t exceed an hour.”

“They want a well-praised Yuk Family Young Master, disregarding how I feel; I just need to follow what they say, without my own thoughts or desires.”

“They treat like a puppet on strings, orchestrating the next dozens of years.”

Chuzheng lowers her foot, rubs her wrist, and says dryly: “From now on, they won’t interfere with you; do whatever you want.”

Yuk Jian places the glass down with a click: “How much did you spend?”

“You can’t pay it back.” Chuzheng adds: “If you really feel you owe , just stay obediently by my side and consider a good person.”

Yuk Jian raises a hand to cover half his face, chuckling: “In the end, you still used money to buy .”

Chuzheng just gives up: “So what, are you planning to run?”
