She responded.
It was undoubtedly the thing that stirred the reporters in the room the most.
Suddenly, the security guards were finding it hard to control the situation, as reporters crowded around Skye Lawrence, excitedly thrusting their microphones in front of her and clamoring to ask questions.
“Ms. Lawrence, may I ask how you feel about competing with Young Master Lawrence for the position of President?”
“I have no special feelings, it’s all for the better developnt of the corporation.”
“Then may I ask, did you suddenly persuade the shareholders to convene a shareholders’ eting because your future developnt concept for the corporation is inconsistent with Young Master Lawrence’s?”
“Not necessarily.”
“Ms. Lawrence, if you win at the shareholders’ eting, how will you arrange Young Master Lawrence’s position?”
“A suitable position.”
“Ms. Lawrence, you have now announced your engagent with the Oscar Family’s Young Master. Will the Lawrence Family gradually rge with the Oscar Family in the future?”
“I haven’t considered it for the ti being.”
“Does ‘I haven’t considered it for the ti being’ an that you will consider it?”
“It’s not convenient to answer.”
The reporters threw one sharp question after another. Skye Lawrence could be said to have an answer for every question, but she carried herself with such poise, her deanor and presence too compelling to be ignored. Moreover, her responses were seamless; even if the reporters wanted to dig sothing up, her seemingly evasive answers left them with nothing to uncover.
But not having unearthed the desired secrets of the wealthy family, the reporters were not content. They thought hard about how to set traps in their questions to capture so substantial content.
On a vehicle’s TV at a quiet intersection 75 ters from Lawrence Headquarters, an interview with Skye Lawrence was being broadcast.
Skye Lawrence’s calm voice echoed in the car.
Scott Harris could feel the low air pressure inside the car.
He quickly lowered his head, concealing the dissatisfaction in his eyes.
He didn’t understand what Ms. Skye was trying to achieve, but with the shareholders’ eting about to comnce, why was she entertaining interviews at such a critical mont? Was there any point to this?
Didn’t she realize that such interviews, once broadcast, would only tarnish the image of the Lawrence Corporation?
Ms. Skye was clearly so capable and competent, it was impossible that she was unaware of these consequences.
Was she really seeking to watch Lawrence Corporation’s stock plumt to force Lord Lawrence to yield?
The dissatisfaction in Scott Harris’s chest mounted.
Lately, Ms. Skye had gone too far with her actions, employing tactics ant for adversaries. Not to speak of Baron Lawrence, even he felt a chill witnessing it.
Baron Lawrence picked up the remote control with an expressionless face and turned off the car’s TV. His handso features betrayed no emotion as he inquired, “Has Enna Clark set off?”
“Ms. Clark and Young Master Habsden have already arrived at the company, but Ms. Clark didn’t use the main entrance. Instead, she drove directly through the side gate,” the security guard reported.
There were too many reporters and dia at the main entrance.
Passing through the main entrance would invariably lead to being blockaded by the reporters, hence the choice of the side gate.
“Alright,” upon ntioning Enna Clark, Baron Lawrence’s expression softened slightly, instructing, “We’ll also take the side gate, keep it low-profile. Go straight up from the elevator in the underground parking garage.”
“Yes, my lord,” the security guard responded.
Although there were reporters at the side gate too, Scott Harris was not concerned about being stopped. He had already made arrangents. Today, they were driving a car belonging to one of the company managers, which the reporters wouldn’t recognize.
The company had taken security precautions well in advance; once they entered, the reporters could not follow.
Later, they would go straight up to the conference room via the President’s exclusive elevator, also avoiding being surrounded by internal staff.
