In the grand eting room on the 66th floor.
The atmosphere was very oppressive.
After exchanging pleasantries, everyone took their seats and whispered with those they were close to.
Enna Clark held a small amount of Lawrence Corporation shares, making her a shareholder as well, so she sat with Edward Jackson.
“Master, this lady must be the Habsden heiress, right? Hearing of soone’s reputation can’t compare to eting them in person; indeed, she has an excellent deanor,” the man sitting next to Edward Jackson said, courteously complinting Enna.
Edward Jackson was always more cordial to those who praised Enna than to those who praised him. Indeed, a gentler smile graced his elegant face. “Not at all, Brooks, you’re too kind. She’s just a kid, what deanor can she have?”
“Oh, you are just being modest, Edward. Don’t pretend you don’t know about the outstanding capabilities of the Habsden heiress. In just over a year, Rhine’s revenue increased by 25% under her managent. If she’s still a kid with that kind of ability, then my own kid should just go back to kindergarten,” President Brooks said half-jokingly, half-seriously, “Ah, my child, everything is fine but they just show no interest in the company. If they were half as sensible as Ms. Clark, I wouldn’t have to worry so much every day.”
Edward Jackson’s tea-colored eyes were profound, and his mature and steady face brimd with a smiling expression. “Don’t worry, your young master is still young; he’ll understand when he gets a little older.”
“I hope so.”
The man beside him glanced around the conference room and lowered his voice.
“Luckily, we’ve only got him. If there were a dominant sister as well, it would probably spell trouble down the line.”
After saying this, he patted Edward Jackson’s shoulder and added, “I know you have a good relationship with Young Master Baron of the Lawrence Family. We’ve been friends for many years; I’ll definitely be on your side.”
“Thanks,” Edward said sincerely this ti.
Brooks looked hesitantly at Enna Clark before continuing, “I’ll definitely be on your side, but the situation today doesn’t look optimistic.”
In super-wealthy families like the Lawrence Corporation, the majority of the shares were held in family mbers’ hands.
Only a small portion was scattered among the various high-society elites.
This was the unwritten rule on the business battlefield, similar to Baron Lawrence holding a tiny portion of the Goldsmith Family’s and Habsden Family’s shares. It served a dual purpose: they could influence each other, and they could also restrain each other.
But since their shares were limited, if Skye Lawrence dared to call a shareholders’ eting, it ant she was confident enough to succeed.
That ant she must have convinced a portion of the Lawrence Family.
For these external associates, even if they all stood with Baron Lawrence, it would be futile in this family infighting!
“Let’s just wait and see,” Edward Jackson shared the sa view, but he had a different anticipation at heart; deep down, he was still looking forward to Baron Lawrence’s counterattack.
If Baron Lawrence truly possessed no ability to fight back and was easily ousted by Skye, Edward would have to seriously consider whether Baron Lawrence was truly worthy of his niece Enna.
Of course, his consideration was not because Baron Lawrence fell from grace, losing his inheritance rights to the Lawrence Corporation, but rather from assessing the capabilities of a man.
Enna was the only bloodline of his sister, and both he and the Old Lady shared the sa thought—they did not want to see the child who had suffered too much in her first twenty years endure any more hardship!
If Baron Lawrence was indeed incapable of providing Enna with happiness, he, as her sole uncle, would have to make plans for her future.
