Chapter 1848: Chapter 1838: Skye Lawrence is Humiliated
The villa was filled with warmth.
Outside the villa, however, things were about to be turned upside down by a bombshell.
Old Master Lawrence was indeed a man of action; from his youth to his old age now, his ability to take action has never changed.
From the mont he received Enna Clark’s text ssage, he had already instructed soone to start preparing the press release. He also had the Housekeeper arrange a video press conference for him.
Although still in rehabilitation, Old Master Lawrence didn’t wear the loose hospital gown. Before attending the press conference, he had changed into a suit and coat.
If it weren’t known to those familiar with him that he had indeed been hospitalized, no one could tell that the elderly man full of vigor had stayed in the critical care ward just a month ago.
The Housekeeper pushed the door open, saw that he was ready, bowed his head, and respectfully said, “Lord, the reporters are waiting for you outside; you may go out at any ti.”

Old Master Lawrence stood in front of the full-length mirror, scrutinizing his appearance with a critical eye. Only after confirming everything was in order did he pick up the dragon-headed cane beside him and walked ahead of the Housekeeper, exuding an undeniable aura.
Before stepping out, he seed to ask the Housekeeper, but also as if asking himself, he softly said, “This is the first decision I’ve made based on intuition; I hope it’s not a wrong decision. Don’t you think so?”
The Housekeeper was right beside him, and even though his voice was low, he heard it. He imdiately said with a smile, “I think you’ve made an incredibly correct decision.”
Yes, perhaps he had made the right decision.
But back then, when he was young, he didn’t have the chance to make such decisions. Nor was there an elder who would make such decisions for him.
So this ti, he hopes the decision he made is truly a correct one.

The doorbell rang again.
Skye Lawrence, wearing a suit, impatiently opened the door.
As expected, a similarly impatient lady stood outside. Before even entering, she began to accuse her, “What were you doing inside? Why did you take so long to open the door?”
As she walked inside, she turned back to take a good look at Skye Lawrence’s attire and said with dissatisfaction, “Are you going out again? For what?”
“I have work later.” Skye Lawrence was extrely impatient. Anyone familiar with her at the Lawrence Family knew she hated being interrupted with trivial matters when she was working.
If it were anyone else, she would have been rude long ago, but the person in front of her was not just anyone; she was that man’s mother.
Mrs. Oscar, hearing her ntion work and seeing her attitude, beca even more displeased and bluntly said, “Our family doesn’t lack people making money, nor do we need that little bit of money. Since you’re going to marry my son, you must follow our family rules. After marriage, quit your job, and stay ho to manage the household and educate the children!”
Skye Lawrence’s temples throbbed, and she refused without thinking, “Impossible! I won’t give up my career for marriage.”
She wasn’t the type of woman to idly cling to one man; she still had many things to accomplish.
“Career?” Mrs. Oscar sneered, looking down at her as she said, “You think you’re still the First Young Lady of a consortium? What career do you have? Just that wretched company—how much money can it earn in a year? Tell , na a figure. I’ll cash it out for you every year. Just stay at ho obediently, and as long as you don’t cause any embarrassing antics, that’s better than anything else!”
