"I might only be back the day after tomorrow."
He’s going on a business trip tomorrow? And for three days?
Enna Clark hadn’t heard him ntion this before, and instinctively paused, "Where are you going? Overseas?"
"Yes, to Yluria Country. Just to handle so matters." Baron Lawrence answered calmly, and from his chiseled handso face, no emotions could be discerned, as if it were just a simple business trip.
But Enna didn’t think so; her first reaction was, "Is it related to the Oscar Family?"
If it is, she wants to go too!
"No, it’s not." Baron responded quickly this ti, as if he knew what Enna was about to say, and continued, "It’s just a military district exchange task, unrelated to business."
Earlier, Enna had given him a massage, leaving him refreshed and in good spirits, and even his usually slightly irritated eyes were surprisingly calm. He patiently explained, "I haven’t attended military etings in a long ti; I really can’t decline this one, so I must spare three days to go. I originally wanted to take you with , but it’s not convenient for that occasion. I’ll be in etings for most of the three days and won’t have much ti to take care of you."
Enna wanted to say she doesn’t need taking care of.
But since Baron ntioned it was a military task this ti, she also knew that anything involving official matters wasn’t as straightforward as business activities, and indeed it wasn’t convenient to bring her along.
She’s not a clingy woman, nor does she need to be looked after all the ti. Once Baron explained it was work-related, she imdiately and considerately said, "I understand. You go ahead; I’ll take good care of myself and Bobby. When you co back, Gigi should be back too, and we can all go to a restaurant for dinner."
"Alright."
Baron gave her a deep look and suddenly grabbed her wrist, forcefully adding, "Enna Clark, you have to video call at night! At least for an hour!"
Whenever she traveled before, she would always video call Tobias Clark for at least an hour.
Enna found his sudden demand amusing, and while stifling a smile, she grabbed his hand back, saying, "Sure. At that ti, it depends on your schedule. If you have ti, we’ll call. If not, then that’s it."
"I will find ti!" No matter how busy he is, he must spare an hour each day to see her; otherwise, he’d go crazy!
Enna decisively agreed, "Then let’s make a call. Anyway, according to your schedule, I’m fine, I’m not busy lately."
After she spoke, her eyes stung with tiredness, and a wave of drowsiness washed over her. She yawned, pulling away from his hand, while yawning repeatedly and softly said, "Baron Lawrence, it’s getting late, and you have to fly tomorrow. You probably have to get up early, so let’s sleep early tonight. I still need to take a bath, let’s talk in the morning. Okay?"
Baron noticed the fatigue in her eyes and let go of her hand.
Enna, now free, imdiately headed inside, "I’ll take a bath first, you go ahead and sleep..."
She was really sleepy, having been on her feet the whole day, and was startled by Bobby in the evening. Now, it was almost midnight, and she couldn’t hold back the sleepiness anymore.
"I’ll wait for you to join ."
Enna had already entered the bathroom, unable to hear what he said, and closed the bathroom door with a click.
The sound of running water echoed...
After she finished her bath and grooming and ca out, the bedside lamp was still on. As Enna climbed into bed, she reached out to turn off the lamp, lifted the covers, and snuggled in, softly murmuring to the man beside her, "Goodnight, sleep tight."
She then closed her eyes...
