"Don't underestimate Holder Class; among them are true experts."

Seeing Goku look down on Holder Class Mages, Makarov reminded him: "In the guild there's an S-Class Mage nad Mystogan—he's a Holder Class Mage, and extrely powerful."

"Mystogan... when there's ti, we should spar."

Goku quietly committed the na to mory.

With no way to challenge the guild master for now, perhaps he could aim for an S-Class Mage instead.

Yesterday everyone had said S-Class Mages were formidable.

After covering so basic magical theory, Makarov shifted the focus to Giant Magic.

"Giant Magic was first created so Mages could stand against dragons."

"Unfortunately, dragons were too mighty; even turning into a giant couldn't defeat them."

"Still, the spell was refined over ti and grew ever stronger."

"If you can Cultivate a thousand-ter giant, you might just beat a dragon."

"Are dragons really that strong?"

Goku was curious; back at Hogwarts Grandpa Dumbledore had taken him to fight fire dragons.

Those fire dragons had been diocre—he'd knocked one out with a few punches.

"I don't know, but the Mage records describe them as terrifying."

Makarov stroked his beard.

He'd never actually seen a dragon, so he couldn't gauge their true power.

"Are there still dragons in this World?"

If this World's dragons were truly formidable, Goku figured they could beco another target in his training.

He didn't fear strong foes—only weak ones; the stronger the opponent, the stronger he'd beco.

"They should exist, though no one knows where."

Makarov himself wasn't sure whether dragons remained alive.

Apart from Natsu, he'd heard nothing about dragons for years.

"Enough digressing. Now I'll teach you how to channel the mana inside you to construct a spell array..."

Makarov then guided Goku into formal study of Giant Magic.

Near noon, a complete giant array shimred beneath Goku's feet and his body ballooned.

In the blink of an eye the boy, barely 1.3 ters tall, beca a burly man over two ters.

Surprise flashed across Makarov's face.

"Didn't expect you to grasp it so quickly—and to grow this much on your first try. Looks like you've plenty of mana."

Mastering Giant Magic in half a day showed exceptional learning ability.

Expanding so much on the first attempt proved ample reserves of mana.

Normally, beginners might grow a few centiters—already a success.

"How does it feel?"

Makarov asked.

Goku clenched a fist, sensing the swelling Ki and new strength, excitent on his face: "Amazing—I think my strength nearly doubled!"

If his original strength was one, after mastering the Breathing Technique in the Demon Slayer World and achieving constant Total Concentration, he could burst out strength at level two.

Now, using Giant Magic and doubling in size, his strength jumped to four.

In other words, his power had quadrupled since entering the Demon Slayer World.

And this was only the beginning; once he could beco a hundred-ter giant like the guild master, a ten- or twenty-fold boost should be easy.

If he could stack that with the ten-tis boost of turning into a Great Ape, the increase would be a hundred- or two-hundred-fold.

He felt that at the next World Martial Arts Tournant he'd have a real shot at beating Grandpa Jackie Chun.

"Throw a punch over there."

Makarov pointed at a tree more than three ters thick.

He wanted to see what kind of damage Goku could deliver after first learning Giant Magic.

Goku stepped up, assud the Turtle School stance, sank his hips, and punched.

Boom!

A terrifying blast rang out; before his fist touched the trunk, the wind from his punch obliterated the tree.

The shockwave kept going, smashing tree after tree and carving out a straight road.

"What?!"

Makarov's eyes nearly popped out.

He knew the boy was strong, but not that after a day with Giant Magic he could unleash such force.

By ordinary standards of destructive power, that blow already reached S-Class level.

Of course, destructive power alone doesn't make an S-Class Mage.

Combat experience in using magic is just as crucial.

Take Gray with his Ice-Make magic: if his spells reach S-Class power but he lacks battle experience, he might be knocked out before finishing a cast.

Or the spell could be too slow, easily dodged or predicted, showing poor control, and so on.

Giant Magic, however, is special—it mainly boosts the body,

so as long as one's martial skill is solid, that's enough.

And Goku's fighting skill had been on full display yesterday in the guild hall.

Without using any magic, he'd floored every Mage in the guild.

Which ant that right now Little Goku already possessed true S-Class strength.

"This is only the basics—once he reaches my level, how strong will he be?"

Coming back to his senses, Makarov grinned from ear to ear.

He felt that if Goku cultivated Giant Magic to his own degree, even the top of the Ten Wizard Saints, God Serena, wouldn't stand a chance.

Those eight Dragon-Slayer spells of God Serena would probably be smashed apart.

"If that's the case, I can't keep him cooped up in the guild."

Stroking his beard, Makarov shook his head.

Mastery of magic can't be achieved by cloistered study alone.

Only through constant battles, pushing limits again and again, tempering the spirit, can one advance quickly.

Mages must take jobs and fight often to grow fast.

Before, he'd thought Goku's ki magic lacked offensive power and outside work would be too risky.

Better to stay a few years, learn Giant Magic, gain self-protection, then venture out.

But now that the boy had S-Class strength, that mindset would only hold him back.

Talented Mages like Erza and Mirajane had started jobs at twelve or thirteen, which was how they beca S-Class by fifteen or sixteen.

The only pity was that if Goku took jobs, he wouldn't be around to clean up after other teams, and the guild would still face huge fines.

Yet compared with that, the boy's rapid growth mattered more.

If he truly cared about fines, he wouldn't let guild Mages ignore Council complaints, encouraging them to fight as they saw fit, with no reservations.

To him, nothing outweighed the children's growth.
