"Tomorrow I’ll go chop down that tree and bring it back to see if it can be cultivated successfully." Xu Yi had ntioned it before but ignored it due to being busy with other tasks.

"Sure, I’ll go with you tomorrow to help." Lu Ke thought the taste of the fungus was pretty good, and it had a lot of benefits, making it suitable for regular consumption.

However, the current yield is quite low, so regular consumption isn’t feasible.

"Alright, we’ll head out first thing in the morning." Xu Yi nodded, agreeing to Lu Ke’s request to go together.

"Mm-hmm," Lu Ke said happily before gathering the dishes to wash them.

After resting for a while, Xu Yi resud his new project.

A long bench, over two ters long, is Xu Yi’s new project.

However, the bench still lacks surface materials, so Xu Yi can only start by making the legs at night.

Since it’s a long bench, the legs need to be thicker too.

Xu Yi chose wood as thick as an arm, which was available in the yard, sufficient for making four bench legs.

After washing the dishes, Lu Ke began processing clay, preparing to make new pottery.

Both were busy with their own tasks without affecting each other.

The night was not so quiet.

From ti to ti, the forest echoed with the sounds of animals calling.

But for Xu Yi and Lu Ke, they had beco accustod to these noises.

However, for Wang Jin and Lu Yao in the sa area, they weren’t too pleased to hear these sounds.

Because their camp was under attack.

What made them fear was that these animals were unknown to them.

They looked like ferrets, but they were much larger, roughly the size of a farm dog.

The key point was that their claws were extrely sharp, seemingly able to slice open an artery if they struck.

Lu Yao tried to fight back with her Slingshot, but the impact was minimal, seemingly incapable of harming the unknown creatures.

"Sis, what do we do now? They might co in, right?" Wang Jin asked, holding a throwing spear, trembling a little.

"Step back, don’t panic. They’re just a few animals; there’s nothing to fear." Lu Yao had cald down. Initially, she was a bit panicked because these animals were unfamiliar, and her military Slingshot was ineffective.

"Move the barrel over." Lu Yao grabbed the spear beside her, preparing to stab the unknown creatures attempting to co in from above.

"Okay, okay," Wang Jin nodded, moving the water barrel over.

Lu Yao took the barrel and tipped it over on the ground.

Standing atop the barrel, Lu Yao saw the situation outside.

She clenched the spear in her hand, aiming at one of the creatures.

With force, she thrust the spear into the creature’s body.

The imnse force directly penetrated the creature’s body.

A howl rang out, bringing a smile to Lu Yao’s face.

"Pass the javelin, quickly," Lu Yao shouted.

Wang Jin imdiately handed her javelin over and grabbed another from beside her. She felt uneasy without sothing in her hand.

Lu Yao adjusted her breath, aiming the javelin at another creature.

She exerted herself, thrusting forward.

"Ow."

The creature cried out as the javelin pierced through its body.

With two animals down, the remaining few reacted.

They glanced at Lu Yao, called out, and turned to flee into the woods, soon disappearing from sight.

Then, Lu Yao fastened the javelin, along with the creatures, into the barricade.

"Sis, you killed two of them?" Looking at the two extra animals by the fire, Wang Jin was amazed.

"The others ran away. We only killed two. If we killed more, we’d have at for several days." Lu Yao said happily, not expecting it to be so easy.

Previously, she didn’t possess such strength, finding it challenging to penetrate large creatures with a javelin.

She was curious about this change.

"Can we eat this?" Wang Jin prodded the animals with her javelin, expressing doubt.

"Why not? It’s all high-quality protein, and there are two pelts too." Lu Yao pulled out the javelin, drawing her machete.

These animals were quite large. Once cleaned, they provided at least 50 pounds of at, converting to jerky amounts to three or four dozen pounds.

It’s been 24 days, and this was their biggest harvest day in 24 days. Usually, they hunted and trapped only catching one, never two at once.

"How about we grill so slices?" Wang Jin thought the edible ones weren’t scary; the inedible ones were. Watching the two animals on the ground, her gaze softened.

"Alright, bring the slate, we’ll start with hearts and livers." Lu Yao nodded. They hadn’t brought water to the camp, lacking suitable pipelines. However, they had ample barrels, so the camp’s water supply was adequate.

"Ness, I’ll get it," Wang Jin smiled, turning to fetch the slate.

This slate was found by Wang Jin, its surface was large and fairly smooth.

Once heated and brushed with so oil, the grilled at slled particularly fragrant.

"Sis, what kind of animal is this? Look at its claws—so long and sharp!" Wang Jin placed the slate on the small stove, then ran to Lu Yao, grabbing a leg, and pointed at the claws.

"This should be an animal unique to this planet; our world doesn’t have such creatures," Lu Yao said while slitting open the animal’s belly.

"If a wolf encounters these, would it win or lose?" Wang Jin thought these creatures seed quite formidable.

"Hard to say, maybe they’d lose," Lu Yao couldn’t be sure, as these were unknown animals and she didn’t know their combat abilities.

If they could stand upright, a wolf pack would surely lose decisively.

"Could we use these to make weapons? Like attaching a claw to a stick; it’d be superior to a wooden spear, right?" Wang Jin suggested, looking at the sharp claws.

Lu Yao nodded, considering Wang Jin’s suggestion to be good.

The Slingshot was effective against smaller animals, but for wolves or such larger creatures, it was sowhat lacking.

If beyond a certain distance, repelling them was possible, but knocking them down wasn’t easy.

The Hunting Bow might be a better option.

She regretted not asking Xu Yi what kind of wood he used to make his Hunting Bow that day.

She had tried Xu Yi’s bow; it was excellent and likely very powerful.

If she knew the materials used, she could make one too.

Sadly, after 24 days here, she had experinted with many kinds of wood, none eting the requirents for crafting a Hunting Bow.
