"Lu Ke," Xu Yi called out as he walked to the bedside.

Lu Ke opened her eyes, wanting to get up, but she had no strength at all.

In the end, it was Xu Yi who helped her up.

"Take the dicine first, then eat so potato porridge," Xu Yi said, bringing the bowl to Lu Ke’s mouth, and gently adding, "See if it’s too hot, I think it’s just right."

Lu Ke took a sip and weakly said, "It’s not hot."

"Is it bitter?" Xu Yi tasted it earlier and thought the flavor was okay, though slightly astringent.

"No," Lu Ke felt a warmth in her heart.

She didn’t expect that Xu Yi would be so good at taking care of people.

Lu Ke thought, he didn’t seem like soone who was only 19 years old.

Watching Lu Ke finish the dicinal soup, Xu Yi smiled slightly. If it was an intestinal issue, this dicine should be effective.

"Rest for a bit, I will check if the potato porridge is ready, and if so, I’ll bring it to you," Xu Yi said as he prepared to lay Lu Ke down.

"I’ll lean against the wall," Lu Ke felt embarrassed to always need Xu Yi to help her up.

Xu Yi nodded, then took a wolf skin and placed it behind Lu Ke’s back.

Next, he lifted Lu Ke directly.

Lu Ke’s face instantly beca hot, and she didn’t dare to look at Xu Yi.

Xu Yi didn’t think much of it; he figured it might be difficult for Lu Ke to move, so he simply carried her to lean against the wall.

With the wolf skin as a cushion, Lu Ke’s back wouldn’t get cold.

After settling her, Xu Yi covered Lu Ke with the fur.

The room’s temperature was only about ten degrees, so it was important to stay warm. Otherwise, if Lu Ke caught a cold, that would be trouble.

Xu Yi left the room to check on the potato porridge, which was already emitting a fragrant aroma.

The pot was boiling, with bubbles surfacing, and it looked a bit thick.

Xu Yi used his satchel as padding, then lifted the ceramic pot.

Since it was still very hot, Xu Yi placed it on the table, then set about boiling so water.

Lu Ke had just taken the anti-diarrhea dicine; he planned to boil so mint water in four hours to help reduce her fever.

Once the potato porridge was ladled into a bowl and he took a spoon, Xu Yi headed back into the room.

"Xu Yi is so good at taking care of people. Since he returned, he’s been busy looking after Lu Ke, and hasn’t even had a drink of water himself."

"Unfortunately, I can’t see what’s happening inside the room, otherwise I’d witness their sweet interactions."

"Aw, just thinking about it feels so sweet."

"Can’t you stop enjoying their cuteness?"

"You make it seem like they’re a couple, but they’re clearly siblings, right?"

"Suddenly, my ham hock doesn’t taste as good. What should I do?"

"Oh, a rich guy eating ham hock! I haven’t seen pork in a month. Gim your ham hock, will you?"

"I wish I were treated so gently by Xu Yi, sob sob."

Back in the room, Xu Yi sat by the bed.

Seeing Lu Ke like this, he didn’t intend for her to eat on her own.

"Here, open your mouth, see how it tastes, and check if it’s salty enough." Xu Yi scooped a spoonful and brought it to Lu Ke’s mouth.

"No, I can do it myself." Lu Ke felt shy letting Xu Yi feed her. From her mory, no one had ever fed her like this.

"You’re so weak now, stop being stubborn. Just have a taste. Eat more, and you’ll get better," Xu Yi said, looking serious.

Lu Ke had no choice but to open her mouth. After taking a bite, she remarked, "It’s delicious."

"Then eat more. You might be bouncing around by tomorrow morning," Xu Yi said as he patiently fed Lu Ke.

After eating most of it, Lu Ke couldn’t eat anymore.

Xu Yi took the rest out and finished it himself, along with a couple of jerky slices, resulting in a passable dinner.

After cleaning the dishes, Xu Yi started a campfire inside the room.

Then, he sat at the door, peeling hemp fibers so that if Lu Ke needed anything, he could go to her imdiately.

Lu Ke silently watched Xu Yi without saying a word.

Outside, animal sounds occasionally broke the quietude. Yet, overall, it was a very peaceful night.

Every now and then, Xu Yi would glance back to check on Lu Ke, to see if she needed anything.

"Xu Yi, is it still cold outside?" Lu Ke asked, breaking the silence.

"It’s alright, not below zero, about ten degrees or so," Xu Yi replied, quickly peeling the flax while tossing the stalks aside.

"It seems the temperature is stabilizing and not as extre as before," Lu Ke mused, beginning to daydream.

Increasingly, she felt this island was like an independent world.

Its ecology and climate differed from the outside world.

So, would the outside be more dangerous, or safer?

With this thought, she longed to recover quickly.

Xu Yi had ntioned building a ship to explore the sea.

"What are you thinking about so deeply?" Xu Yi asked, touching Lu Ke’s forehead to gauge her temperature.

"Just curious about what the world outside the island is like," Lu Ke replied, licking her dry lips.

"You’re still feverish. I’ll make you so mint tea to help reduce it," Xu Yi withdrew his hand. So far, Lu Ke’s diarrhea seed to have stopped.

If they could reduce her fever, there shouldn’t be any more problems.

"Okay," Lu Ke nodded.

More than ten minutes later, Xu Yi brought in a bowl of mint tea.

Having regained so strength, Lu Ke took the mint tea herself and drank it while it was hot.

"Get so sleep. A good night’s sleep will help you recover," Xu Yi said gently, taking the bowl from her.

"I’ll sleep now, but don’t tire yourself out. Once I’m better, I’ll help you with everything," Lu Ke said and snuggled back under the covers.

"Okay, good night." Xu Yi patted Lu Ke’s head before turning to leave.

Lu Ke smiled, then closed her eyes.

Xu Yi returned to the doorway, sat down, and glanced at the sky outside.

The outside world!

He was curious too, wondering if it would be like this island.

Would there also be deserts, plateaus, hills, and various magnificent natural landscapes?

Or would there be more fierce beasts and harsher environntal challenges?

Perhaps, this planet had already birthed intelligent life, beginning to develop a civilization?

All these mysteries would require Xu Yi to leave the island and explore the outside to unravel them.

Would he go?

Yes, he had already planned it. After staying on this island for a hundred days, he would find like-minded individuals to collaborate with in building a ship to leave this island.
