Chapter 1616: Chapter 113 Hidden_2

Wang Ba didn’t give it much thought. He simply furrowed his brows, carefully sensing the subtle changes around him once more. Thinking back to the situation on Daosheng Continent and Tupi Continent, his gaze swept over the steam and cannons emitted by the ships below. He finally realized sothing:

“The rules of the world!”

“The rules of the world in these two continents are distinct from other continents.”

“Could it be due to the disappearance of Spiritual Energy?”

“Or perhaps the disappearance of Spiritual Energy is also a consequence of this change in rules?”

Ever since approaching Tupi Continent, he had felt that sothing seed slightly off.

It wasn’t until this mont, upon seeing the steam and cannons, that he finally understood.

Of course, he couldn’t quite pinpoint which specific rules had changed.

But he was certain that, after countless millennia of developnt in the Little Cang World, steam and cannons—simple creations—should have been invented long ago.

After all, mortals, though unable to cultivate, are hardly lacking in ingenuity.

The primary reason they had never erged, aside from the arrogance and negligence of the Cultivators themselves,

likely lay in the fact that these inventions were limited in their effectiveness within an environnt rich in Spiritual Energy.

Yet now, in the Spiritual Energy-deprived environnt of Daosheng Continent and Tupi Continent, these inventions had shed their limitations and demonstrated their true power.

Although he hadn’t verified it, his Spiritual Sense told him that this hypothesis was most likely correct.

By this calculation, Daosheng Continent and Tupi Continent seed more akin to a Dungeon designed for mortals to thrive.

“But… why would such a transformation occur?”

This question rose unbidden in Wang Ba’s heart.

“Should we continue forward?”

Zhao Jie glanced toward the northwest and couldn’t help but ask.

Wang Ba deliberated briefly before answering:

“Let’s go take a look.”

Though he had gleaned so information from the mories of the crew, he still wanted to see for himself the changes Daosheng Continent had undergone over the past 400 years. He was also curious about the paths the descendants of Cultivators might take in this era devoid of Spiritual Energy.

Having made their decision, the pair didn’t linger further. They sped past the fleet below, heading swiftly toward the southwest.

While Fenglin Continent lay far from Tupi Continent, the distance between Daosheng Continent and Tupi Continent was significantly shorter.

Both of them were Divinity Transformation Cultivators, so even without exerting themselves fully, it took them less than half a Shichen to glimpse the location of Daosheng Continent.

As they drew closer to Daosheng Continent, the number of ships dotting the sea gradually increased.

They soared high above, so high that even without deliberately concealing themselves, those below could not spot them.

Soon, they saw the jagged coastline and the harbors constructed along it, featuring the unique black brick and stone ports characteristic of Daosheng Continent. The aesthetic had an exotic charm.

Yet both Wang Ba and Zhao Jie couldn’t help but furrow their brows.

Beyond this stretch of coastline, their gaze extended further.

But instead of a contiguous landmass, they saw only rivers, lakes, and seas crisscrossing amid a collection of islands of varied sizes.

The islands ranged from expansive ones spanning thousands of miles to tiny ones barely large enough for a manor.

Ships zipped and sped between these islands.

Steam rose into the air, creating a bustling scene.

Gigantic waves, surging in from afar, cald down quietly as they neared these islands.

“The seawater here doesn’t appear to have fully receded; it’s likely due to this continent’s lower elevation.”

Wang Ba swept his gaze over the islands and the varied flags fluttering above them, each marked by distinct colors and patterns, and spoke.

Previously, he had only been focused on understanding Daosheng Continent’s history and had paid little attention to the environnt’s changes.

Now, upon closer inspection, the present Daosheng Continent bore so resemblance to Zhongsheng Continent of old, much of which had been subrged by seawater.

Zhao Jie also scanned the islands one by one, his ears twitching slightly as he quickly picked up snippets of conversation among the mortals below. Pondering for a mont, he remarked:

“This reminds of the Buddha Kingdom of my Xituo Continent, where each island operates as its own nation.”

Wang Ba’s gaze couldn’t help but settle on the largest nearby island.

Nearby crashing waves quietened down as they reached the shore.

Ports and docks ca into view, alongside steam-powered vessels burning coal and releasing thick smoke, along with dock workers loading cargo onto ships using pulleys and ropes.

He spotted trains and train stations, coal lanterns extinguished for the mont, shops, and more—

scenes reminiscent of his mories yet noticeably altered in form and detail.

For a mont, Wang Ba stared blankly at these scenes, foreign yet familiar.

With Spiritual Energy gone, this place had no Cultivators.

But the era belonging to “mortals” seed to have quietly begun in this corner of the Little Cang World.

His gaze moved slightly, scanning the horizon.

When his eyes inadvertently landed on a sculpture at the center of the island city, he froze in place:

“This is…”

A stone sculpture of a placenta stood there.

Its every fine line, fold, and extruding umbilical cord seed as though crafted by an artisan who had ticulously observed the real form countless tis.

A level of lifelike detail that appeared almost divine.

Each passerby naturally offered respectful salutations to the divine statue.

In turn, a faint, nearly imperceptible Power of Incense flowed quietly into the placenta.

Gazing down at the statue of the placenta, Wang Ba fell into silence for a while before exhaling heavily:

“Mother Goddess… So the source of Her incense lies here!”

Looking up, it wasn’t just this island. Every island within view bore a similar sculpture of a placenta.

They resembled stabilizers, silently guarding the islands and calming the raging waves from the deep sea.

Wang Ba had long puzzled over the Kingdom of Immortals’ source of incense. Previously, he had thought it was in Jingyuan Continent. Yet during his last visit to the Kingdom of Immortals, he carefully observed and found that there weren’t many mortals there.

So he had assud it was hidden sowhere in a Dungeon.

However, until this mont, seeing the Mother Goddess’s divine statue here in Daosheng Continent, he finally understood.

The Kingdom of Immortals’ reach had stealthily extended into Daosheng Continent at so unknown point in ti.

Even he, a Yin God, had been kept in the dark.

Zhao Jie also noticed the statue. Though unfamiliar with it, he sensed the convergence of incense and looked at Wang Ba in astonishnt:

“Tan Yue, could this be the Evil God…?”

To his surprise, Wang Ba rely shook his head calmly and replied in a low voice:

“Let’s leave.”

“Leave? Aren’t we going to investigate this Evil God…?”

Seeing Wang Ba’s composed gaze, Zhao Jie’s tone faltered. Though unsure of his intent, he nodded:

“It seems Tan Yue already has a plan.”

Wang Ba nodded, casting a deep glance at the unknowing statue of the Mother Goddess, a flicker of inscrutable aning flashing in his eyes.

“Driving the tiger to swallow the wolf… shedding the golden cicada skin?”

“What a clever plan.”

Using the Yin God to provoke the Wanxiang Sect into confronting the True Martial Cultivators, while feigning a posture of desperation.

Yet the reality had long shifted—all focus had been placed on Daosheng Continent.

Even if the Kingdom of Immortals was annihilated by the True Martial Cultivators, as long as the incense fire persisted, the Mother Goddess could quickly rise again in Daosheng Continent.

anwhile, the Wanxiang Sect’s involvent would divert the True Martial Cultivators’ attention, buying ti for the Kingdom of Immortals’ revival.

Watch idly as tigers clashed, and reenter the fray at the right mont…

This was the Mother Goddess’s strategy.

A plan that even Wang Ba hadn’t foreseen.

Perhaps only one detail had eluded the Mother Goddess’s calculations—the “Yin God” wasn’t truly a Yin God…

“Never underestimate anyone,”

Wang Ba silently reminded himself.

Gazing below, a Vermillion Bird Token slipped quietly from his sleeve.

The token dropped into the waters near the island without disturbing a single ripple.

His gaze returned to the erging shape of coastline cities below.

He slowly swept his view across the mortals living their lives—

their joys and sorrows—and at the islands protected by so invisible force against the battering waves. His expression grew ever more complicated.

“Evil God… If You can truly be impartial… perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to…”

He lost himself briefly as though struck by a sudden thought.

“Tan Yue…”

Zhao Jie cautiously spoke up.

Wang Ba snapped out of his reverie, nodded:

“Let’s go.”

With that, he took the lead, flying northward.

In the distance, a faint golden light seed to subtly greet their arrival…
