"Uh—?" Nicole gently looked up, eting Steven Cooper’s smiling gaze, as warm and gentle as water, "Brother Cooper, is there sothing wrong?" Nicole asked foolishly.
Steven Cooper chuckled lightly, replying half-jokingly, "Yes. Nicole—- if I do sothing bad, will you be mad at ?"
Nicole’s heart skipped a beat inexplicably, looking at Steven Cooper’s smiling eyes, her brows furrowed slightly, "Brother Cooper..."
Seeing that she didn’t directly refuse, Steven Cooper boldly pulled her a little closer to him, lowered his head toward Nicole’s side face, his target clear.
Nicole’s fingers on both sides were nervously clenched in her palms, watching Steven Cooper draw closer bit by bit, her heart a bit flustered and beating...
Not far away, Jose Floyd watched Steven Cooper inching toward Nicole, his hand tightened around the stemd glass, a chilly glint flashing in his eyes.
Steven Cooper approached Nicole with a smile, very close, close enough to feel that Nicole’s breathing had beco a bit heavier, possibly due to nervousness.
And just at this mont.
Bang—-!!
A loud sound echoed through the quiet corridor.
Steven Cooper, who hadn’t yet kissed Nicole, imdiately turned his head to look toward the source of the sound.
Nicole’s gaze also shifted over.
The culprit, not far away, Jose Floyd didn’t even glance at his hand full of glass shards; his isolated, cold eyes looked at the two, as he spoke coldly, "The quality of the glass is bad, it suddenly shattered, interrupting your little mont."
Although he uttered words of apology, there was not a hint of sincerity in his expression or tone, instead, a layer of mockery and cold sneer.
Steven Cooper looked at this man who appeared once again, his gaze deepened as he replied indifferently, "Sir, you might want to get soone to handle those glass shards in your hand, it wouldn’t be good if it got infected."
Nicole’s gaze landed on Jose Floyd’s hand. The palm was covered in glass shards. Nicole’s eyes deepened further, as she lowered her gaze.
This wasn’t shattered accidentally; the wine glass was crushed by him deliberately.
The hatred Jose Floyd has for her is not any less than hers for him; he probably wishes he could crush her just like that glass, right?
After all, she had deceived him before—-
Just as Nicole was about to ask Steven Cooper to leave together, Jose Floyd’s cold, indifferent voice spoke first, "Right. Doctor Seys, aren’t you going to co over and treat my wound?"
Nicole didn’t move, her gaze returned, obviously asking, ’What are you trying to do this ti?’
Steven Cooper also looked at Jose Floyd in confusion, asking, "Doctor Seys? Sir, are you mistaken?"
Jose Floyd’s lips curved into a cold smile, "Didn’t you know she studied dicine? The lady beside you was once my private doctor; she used to treat all my wounds." Disregarding Steven Cooper, Jose Floyd’s gaze focused on Nicole, his cold eyes tinged with sharpness, "Doctor Seys, although your contract has ended, after all, I’ve been soone you took care of for several years, is Doctor Seys really so cold-hearted and indifferent to just watch being injured and not help treat my wounds?"
Steven Cooper saw the odd atmosphere between them, his suspicious gaze silently questioned Nicole for confirmation.
Nicole pressed her lips, her peripheral vision catching the despicable man in the distance, she gently nodded to Steven Cooper, "He was my forr patient; I was his private doctor for five years."
As Nicole said this, Jose Floyd’s lips held a smile as he approached, cold and eerie, with eyes icy-cold, continuing off Nicole’s previous words, "I really miss the days when Miss Seys was my doctor. Miss Seys’s service was quite ’thorough’! In those five years, both physically and ntally, she provided with trendous help!"
