After a long while, Ariel Morris finally ca back to her senses. She looked at Arlo Seys’s back and said in a low voice, "Arlo, your singing is really beautiful."
Arlo Seys smiled faintly. The corners of his mouth curved up slightly, revealing a touch of lightheartedness at her complint.
Suddenly, Ariel Morris embraced him, her cheek pressed against his back, and gently said, "Arlo---let’s never lose contact, okay? If we part ways, I would miss you so much. I don’t want it to be just my youth that’s accompanied by you. I want you to be with throughout my entire life."
"Okay." Arlo Seys smiled warmly.
Ariel Morris bit her lip slightly, "Arlo---if sothing happens to , would you help ?"
Arlo Seys nodded, his voice carrying certainty, "As long as you ask, I’ll do my utmost to help you. Ariel, are you facing so difficulties?"
Ariel Morris’s fingertips trembled slightly, her voice sowhat panicked as she shook her head emphatically, "No, Arlo---- I’m just speaking hypothetically."
She couldn’t bring herself to ask Arlo for help with a company’s operating funds. Their relationship should be pure, without any impurities. If she asked, how would Arlo view their relationship?
It wasn’t a small amount of money; it was an astronomical figure she couldn’t repay in her lifeti. There was such a vast gap between her and Arlo. How could she bridge it?
If she asked, and Arlo helped, what about the Seys Family? What would they think? That she, as the adopted daughter of the Morris Family, was pursuing Arlo with an eye on the Seys Family’s wealth and influence, right?
And Arlo... She dared not think about how she would feel if he looked at her with questioning eyes...
With panic, Ariel Morris let her hands hanging around Arlo Seys’s waist fall, her fingers gripping tightly on her lap, her heart in turmoil and unease.
----
It had been more than a week since Arlo Seys last sent Ariel Morris ho. During this ti, he’d only seen Ariel twice, but she politely declined his offer to take her ho, citing that she had things to do. She was absent from the tutoring sessions at the juice bar. Even more, she was missing practice for self-defense techniques against harassnt.
In class, Arlo Seys found himself distracted and uneasy.
Arlo Seys pondered in class, his mind suddenly flashing back to the oddness Ariel Morris displayed the last ti he took her ho, and her words left unsaid. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he beca.
Unable to focus on class, he simply took out his phone and sent a ssage to Ariel Morris.
"Ariel, I’ll be waiting for you at the juice bar after school today."
The ssage was sent, but it seed to vanish into thin air. Arlo Seys waited the entire day but did not receive a reply from Ariel Morris.
After school, Arlo Seys walked straight out of the classroom and waited for Ariel Morris under the first-year, class seven classroom building.
Arlo Seys, the God of Scenic Hill, caused a sensation throughout the entire first-year building just by being there.
When the students of first-year, class seven were dismissed, Ariel Morris was holding her phone, deep in thought and hesitation as she looked at the ssage from Arlo Seys. A classmate who had left the building and returned rushed into the room and shouted at the dazed Ariel Morris, "Ariel Morris! God Seys is waiting for you downstairs! Quick, quick, quick!!"
Ariel Morris’s fingers trembled slightly. She looked at the excited classmate and said calmly, "Please tell him for that I have sothing to do today. He doesn’t need to wait for ."
The classmate scoffed, "That’s God Seys! You’re not going on a date? What could possibly be more important than that, and you leave God Seys hanging?!"
"Tsk, people often don’t cherish what they have." A female classmate remarked sourly.
"Get lost! Stop being so bitter. Aren’t you just interested in God Seys yourself? You want to undermine Ariel Morris, and you act all jealous. The heart of a woman is like a needle at the bottom of the ocean!" The classmate who was trying to convince Ariel Morris to go out snapped back, leaving the sour-talking girl speechless.
