Ariel Morris blocked out everything outside her window, sitting at the desk doing howork. She deliberately lingered for more than an hour before leaving the classroom. At this mont, she was the only one left in the entire class. It wasn’t until she stepped out into the hallway that she realized it was getting dark outside.
With her backpack on, she headed downstairs, but as she approached the staircase, a sudden figure erging startled her.
Accompanying the figure was a soft voice saying, "I’ve been waiting for you for a long ti, Ariel."
Hearing this familiar voice, Ariel Morris’ fingertips trembled slightly. She raised her eyes to look at the person walking towards her from the dim stairwell. Even though the light was dim, that striking figure was still as prominent and dazzling, making her lose her senses for a mont.
"Arlo---" Ariel Morris’ voice was a bit hoarse and surprised.
She had deliberately lingered in the classroom for more than an hour just to avoid him, but he waited downstairs for more than an hour...
Arlo Seys ca closer. His tall figure enveloped Ariel Morris with a gentle aura. His voice was mild and pleasant, "Shall we go? Are you done with your work? I’ll take you ho."
His proximity made Ariel Morris’ heart skip a beat heavily, and she nodded lightly, giving a soft "mm."
The two walked silently all the way out of the school gate.
Ariel Morris gazed at the darkening night sky, her heart heavy with thoughts. She stopped walking, tugging lightly on the sleeve of Arlo Seys, who was strolling casually, her voice calm and flat, "Arlo, it’s late. You don’t need to see off. I can go back alone, you should head ho early too."
Arlo Seys was quietly savoring the peaceful mont of being alone together. Hearing her words, his expression froze slightly, then he spoke softly, "Ariel--- what have you been busy with lately? I know two people in a relationship need their own space. Perhaps I’m overthinking, but---" Arlo paused, his gaze slightly darkened as he looked at Ariel Morris and continued, "But I really feel--- you seem a bit... off. Recently, you’ve even given the impression that you’re intentionally distancing yourself from ."
His gaze was gentle, yet carried a question that couldn’t be ignored. Ariel Morris’ fingers unconsciously clenched into a fist. Her eyes quietly t his deep pupils, and soon, she turned her head slightly, her tone light and a bit playful, "Arlo, you really have a wild imagination. You’re the dream guy I worked so hard to win over, how could I possibly distance myself from you? I need to keep a close eye on you so no one steals you away, I wouldn’t have ti to distance myself!"
Arlo Seys pursed his lips, "Then let take you ho. It’s late, I can’t let you go alone."
"No, Arlo!" Ariel Morris instinctively blurted out.
As soon as she said it, Ariel Morris regretted her impulsiveness.
Sure enough, as soon as her voice fell, Arlo Seys’ eyes flickered briefly, then he looked at her quietly, waiting for her explanation.
A flicker of panic crossed Ariel Morris’ eyes, she steadied herself, pretending to be calm as she t Arlo Seys’ gaze, softly explaining, "Arlo, I’ve moved to a new place, really close to the school, you don’t need to see off, really."
Arlo Seys was silent for a mont, then looked at her quietly, "What if I insist?"
Even if she moved to a new place, it didn’t conflict with him taking her ho, why did she keep refusing him?
His words weren’t heavy, but those familiar with Arlo Seys knew that at this mont, he had made up his mind, and no one could easily change it.
Upon hearing this, Ariel Morris’ heart was in turmoil. As she was thinking about how to make Arlo Seys give up on taking her ho, a beam of car headlights shone over them.
Ariel Morris and Arlo Seys turned their heads at the sa ti, and they saw a rcedes-Benz pulling up about ten ters in front of them.
