Ariel Morris looked at the car, the panic in her eyes pressing hard on her heart.
Arlo Seys glanced briefly, noticing a foreign rcedes parked in front, and in just a mont withdrew his gaze indifferently, fixing directly on Ariel Morris. However, when he turned back, he found Ariel beside him with a complex expression on her face, her eyes fixed on the rcedes ahead, completely unaware of his gaze.
Arlo was sowhat puzzled; he once again followed her gaze to the suddenly stopped rcedes.
At this mont, the rear window of the rcedes rolled down, and a head poked out, a voice, tinged with impatience, shouted towards the two of them, "Ariel Morris, get in the car, ti to go ho!"
It was her, Scarlett Morris, Ariel’s younger sister. Arlo’s eyes flickered slightly, but he remained silent, just quietly watching the rcedes a dozen ters away.
The disparity between that rcedes and the place where he had been to Ariel’s rented apartnt last ti was astonishing. Why would Ariel live in such a cramped place if she could afford a rcedes?
Ariel’s pupils contracted slightly, and when she saw Arlo’s eyes fixed tightly on the rcedes, the slight frown on her face didn’t escape her attention either. Ariel’s mind was in chaos as she reached out to tug on Arlo’s arm, "Arlo---my sister’s here, you don’t need to see off, please go back?"
Arlo retracted his gaze without a ripple, looking at the peerlessly beautiful face before him, speaking blandly, "Ariel---Perhaps the understanding between us isn’t as deep as I imagined."
His bland words made Ariel’s heart skip a heavy beat. Ariel returned his gaze, pursing her lips, "Arlo, I have also never asked about your family."
Her words made Arlo’s pupils shrink slightly, "Ariel, if you want to know, I can tell you, I’m not unwilling to talk, just didn’t want to create obstacles between us." Pausing, he looked at her seriously, "I can tell you now. Ariel, my family is in politics----"
"Arlo! I’m really in a hurry to go ho with my sister, can we talk next ti?" Ariel directly interrupted Arlo’s words, her tone even carried a trace of panic.
Arlo’s indifferent eyebrows furrowed slightly, then he looked at Ariel and nodded slowly.
Ariel breathed a sigh of relief, smiled at him, and walked towards the rcedes a dozen ters away.
As Ariel just reached the car, Scarlett Morris opened the door and stepped out from the back seat.
Wrapped in a tight-fitting dress showcasing her curvaceous figure, Scarlett glanced at Ariel with prideful disdain and said, "Ariel Morris, Mom and Dad want you to bring Arlo Seys ho as a guest!"
Ariel’s eyes flickered slightly, "He’s busy and needs to rush ho."
Scarlett’s skeptical gaze swept over her, "Ariel, you didn’t have a fight with him, did you? I just saw Arlo Seys’s face didn’t look so good. Ariel, honestly, you are sothing else, you’re an orphan adopted from a welfare ho and you’ve managed to cling to the Seys Family Crown Prince, why don’t you be smart and put up with it? What does Arlo Seys even see in you? What do you have? Without our Morris Family, you’d still be at the welfare ho!"
Ariel was afraid her reply would provoke Scarlett’s temper and afraid Arlo nearby would overhear their conversation, so she bit her lip and remained silent.
Scarlett cast a disdainful glance at her, "Are you a log? Can’t you speak? Aren’t you going to ask Arlo Seys to get in the car?"
Ariel responded softly, "It’s quite late, he’s in a hurry to get ho, maybe next ti."
Scarlett scoffed, and simply walked off on her own, planning to strike up a conversation with Arlo Seys.
