Daisy Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland, her gaze direct, as if questioning, "Isn’t it?"
Dawn poured a cup of warm water for Daisy and another for himself, "The Sutherland Family isn’t as important to as you might think. I wasn’t born of Selah Sutton. To the Sutherlands, I’m just air. If the Sutherlands overstep with the Grants, do what you need to do. If you need my help, just say the word." Dawn’s eyes moved slightly as he reached out, his long fingers gently touching Daisy’s face, softly applying the ointnt to her swollen areas.
His movents were light and gentle. Daisy gazed back at Dawn’s face, a bitterness welling up in her heart.
