"...Is there sothing wrong?" asked Ataraxia in response to the man’s gaze, feeling as if the latter’s gaze was trying to peer into his secrets.

"There’s nothing really wrong per se," replied Aeramis, belatedly realizing that his gaze towards the young man just now was a bit too much. "However, I do have a question that I hope you could answer truthfully."

"And that is...?" Ataraxia raised his eyebrow at those words.

"Are you the chosen descendant of a high-ranking being by any chance?" asked the man as a reply, his expression showing him that the question he asked him was no joke.

"At first, I thought you were a disciple of so Divine-level organization," he continued, laying out his train of thought for Ataraxia. "Then, after giving it a bit more thought, I felt that it would be more believable if you had the support of an Immorial Deity."

"After all, only beings at those rank and higher have the ability to manipulate the extended stats of other beings to an extent where your feats during the previous trials beco possible."

"However, now that I’ve witnessed you reach the essence of one of my skills without even spending an entire day on it..." Aeramis’ smile contained a hint of self-mockery. "I suppose it would be more apt to describe you as a high-ranking being’s chosen descendant instead."

"Well... either that or the reincarnation of a Divine-level being instead."

Thump.

Though Ataraxia knew that the man in front of him was just taking a shot in the dark with his words, the young man still could not help but inwardly clench his teeth as he heard the last statent leave the latter’s mouth.

After all, even though his current abilities were only possible thanks to the various encounters he had co across in his current life, that still did not change the fact that he had reached the pinnacle of the Divine level before being given a second shot to make things right.

In fact, it could be said that the only other reason why he was able to retain most, if not all of the information he had on the ga in his past life, aside from the heaven’s ddling, was because he was at such a high class rank.

With that in mind, the young man forcefully composed himself, making sure to not reveal any signs that the man’s last statent was correct as he responded with a slight smile.

"Is that so?"

"..." Feeling the young man slightly waver in response to his previous statents, Aeramis scrutinized the forr even further after hearing those words, slightly squinting his eyes as he looked at him from top to bottom.

In the end, the man did not try to pry it out of Ataraxia any further, especially considering the fact that every person who would eventually break through the shackles of mortality had their own set of secrets to keep.

Considering the fact that he had watched the young man spend the past four months or so within his inheritance, it went without saying that he’d already confird that the young man in front of him was a Player, an entity that was blessed and protected by the system.

Though this explained so of the talent the young man had exhibited during the inheritance, there was still a lot regarding the feats Ataraxia showed during the trials that greatly confused him.

With that, he was confident that aside from being a Player, the young man also had another identity that allowed his talents as a Player to shine even further, reaching levels that would make even Ancient Monarchs like him jealous.

Then again, if Ataraxia were to confirm that he did have another identity to fall back on aside from being a Player, though the man would still be impressed by his performance in the trials, it would be from a perspective where he understood that the forr’s foundations would outstandingly solid.

However, if the young man’s talent truly stemd solely from the fact that he was a Player...

"...Pretend as if I hadn’t said anything," said Aeramis after a bit more silence, his gaze and expression returning to the way they were before. "Are you going to take a short break again?"

"Yeah." Ataraxia nodded, noticing that the man’s smile now contained a hint of excitent and anticipation. "Once I co back, I’ll probably have the pedestals test my abilities."

"Take as much ti as you need," said the man in response, which made the young man faintly smile in return as he soon logged out of Greater Beyond.

Whoosh!

...

’...Now that I think about it, did I miss the tournant at the empire during my stay here?’

Feeling refreshed and re-energized after getting a good night’s rest, Ataraxia went over the two remaining skills he had yet to comprehend in his mind as he sent Valyr a question through [Soul Entanglent].

’You didn’t,’ replied Valyr, a slight delay in his response. ’At the very mont we understood that you’d take a long ti to complete the final trial of the inheritance, I already went ahead and contacted Mystia and Byron regarding the tournant.’

’What did they say?’

’At first, they said that the tournant would be delayed to the following month because of certain issues,’ said Valyr, his tone calm. ’Though, just as I was about to inform you about the tournant when the ti ca, the two sent a ssage that the tournant had been delayed yet again.’

’Surely it wouldn’t be delayed to a date where I’d only have days left to prepare, no?’ asked Ataraxia in response, which made the young man shake his head.

’Far longer than that, actually,’ answered the latter, his next words briefly leaving the young man at a loss for words. ’According to what the two told , the tournant was postponed to be held next year.’

’Next year?’ Hearing those words, it took a while for Ataraxia to recover his bearings. ’What happened for the tournant to be delayed that long?’

’I also had the sa question as you when I first heard about it,’ replied Valyr with a chuckle, only for his tone to return to its prior calm soon after. ’So, I asked them.’

’And what did they tell you?’

’The defensive lines,’ answered the young man, causing Ataraxia to beco silent for a bit as he pondered as to what his other self ant by that.

Though, once an idea related to it popped up in his mind, he soon understood... that things might have just taken a turn for the worse for humanity.
