Chapter 1243: Chapter 1243: Am I still your daughter?
Scarlett was still feigning illness on the soft Xi ngsi bed, with the female officer beside her feeding her water.
Suddenly, a servant ran in, “Her Royal Highness, Her Royal Highness…”
Before Scarlett could speak, the female officer imdiately understood what she ant, her face darkened and she scolded, “Why are you making such a fuss, can’t you see Her Highness is unwell?”
“It’s… it’s Prince William who has returned, he’s downstairs having coffee with Young Master Lie and wants Her Highness to co down.”
“What did you say? My daddy is back?” Scarlett’s expression changed, and a hint of panic flashed in her almond eyes.
“Yes, Prince William just returned to the country.” The servant, unaware of her panic, answered honestly.
Scarlett’s fingers involuntarily clenched the bed sheet beneath her, her eyes flickering wildly.
The female officer wasn’t much better off, her face equally pale, and the color from her lips faded significantly.
But Scarlett remained much more composed than the female officer, she slightly raised her chin at the servant’s bewildered look, “I understand. I’ll change clothes and co down. You may leave now.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The servant left.
The female officer imdiately asked in a panic, “Princess, what should we do now? Young Master Lie must have told the Prince about the Abandoned Factory incident.”
Scarlett, of course, knew that Xi Zelie most likely tattled. She was already in a bad mood, and when the female officer ntioned it, she beca even more irritable. She shot a glare at the female officer, snapped irritably, “So what if he told? We’ll just deny it.”
“But…”
“Does he have evidence?” Scarlett pursed the corner of her mouth, looking up at the female officer, “Besides those people he had the police arrest, he has no substantial evidence. We only need to insist that those people kidnapped us. As for what those people say…”
Her eyes narrowed, “Kidnappers who are caught are obviously afraid of legal punishnt, so they make up stories to shirk responsibility!”
As she spoke, her frantic heart gradually cald down.
That’s right, they have no evidence, what can they do to her?
Once cald, she changed her clothes, repeatedly threatened the female officer not to let anything slip, then went downstairs.
As soon as she descended the spiral staircase, she inevitably saw Xi Zelie chatting over coffee with her daddy.
Besides Xi Zelie, that woman was also there.
The three of them were sitting there, the atmosphere harmonious, as if they were a family, making her seem like an outsider.
Scarlett gritted her teeth, her heart filled with resentnt, yet she managed to put on a pale and sickly appearance. After coming downstairs, she obediently stood in front of Prince William and called out weakly, “Daddy.”
Prince William did not soften at her weak call of daddy, his sharp gaze seed to see through her, fixating on her face, and sternly questioning, “What have you done while I was away?”
“I…” Scarlett appeared frightened, panicked, and then her innocent, pure almond eyes, “I didn’t do anything.”
“You didn’t do anything? Why did you run off? Didn’t I tell you to reflect properly at ho for a few days?” Prince William’s grandeur was imposing.
Scarlett first looked at the graceful Princess, then at Xi Zelie, and subsequently focused her gaze on Prince William, her eyes suddenly reddening as if gravely wronged, she preemptively asserted, “Daddy, is this what you want to say to after I’ve been kidnapped and finally returned? In your eyes, am I still your daughter? I really doubt now that I’m nothing but an extra.”
