Chapter 1226: Chapter 892: A Beautiful and Important Part of Life (Part 2)

“But deceiving oneself is to wear a mask.” Igula said softly, “Lies are the patterns on the mask. The more exquisite they are, the easier they are to confuse others.”

He looked down at the reflection in the water, “But you’re all so stupid that I can earn your trust even without patterns on my face.”

“So you should also understand that Harvey is doing it on purpose,” Ash said. “There’s no fool among Legendary Mages. He’s deliberately seeking death with us.”

Earlier, Igula and Vishi discussed many important pieces of information. Harvey didn’t listen seriously to anything else but specifically asked Igula why he conducted the Promotion Ceremony and acted as if he understood it, persistently questioning the details of Hell’s Poison. Ash thought for a mont and understood his intentions.

“I know,” Igula said. “That’s why I can’t forgive myself… I was actually deceived by a Necromancer!”

“Huh?”

“I should have realized when he asked about non-Necromancy topics!” Igula gritted his teeth and said, “He never pays attention to important information. If we hadn’t taught him, he wouldn’t even know he was infected with Faded Dream Secret Poison! It’s like a Chef being bitten by Lalafei; I can’t believe soone so bad at disguising himself tricked for information! I’m a disgrace to Swindlers, I might as well go back to the orphanage to care for kids!”

Ash laughed, “Your retirent plan is to go back to the orphanage to care for kids?”

“The secret of deception lies in treating others like children,” Igula said. “Most people in the world haven’t truly grown up; they just can’t continue being kids. I think I have a talent for early childhood education.”

“So, you’re just upset that Harvey deceived you, not angry that you let Harvey be in danger?”

“What else?” Igula replied. “We should have kicked Harvey out of the group long ago and let him fend for himself.”

Ash chuckled and patted Igula on the shoulder. Igula looked down at the water, his golden hair hanging down, hiding his expression.

Ti flowed silently, and the evening breeze rippled the water surface.

“He really shouldn’t follow us,” Igula said softly. “He’s different from us.”

“You’re a vortex of disaster. Wherever you go, trouble follows, and you can’t stay long anywhere; and though I’m dragged by you to run around, I myself yearn for big scenes and major events, and traveling the six nations has always been my Heart’s Desire, so even if you aren’t a good teammate, crashing through the land with you… it’s indeed an exciting adventure.”

“Let clarify,” Ash said. “I’m not intentionally chasing disasters. Gospel was because of Liss, Senluo was because of Black Crow and Silver Lamp, and Dazzling Star was sheer bad luck, not my fault, okay?”

Igula patted his hand, displaying a “have it your way” look, “Yeah, you’re right.”

“But Harvey neither provokes trouble nor wants to travel, nor is he interested in any events. From start to finish, he just wants to be a coroner or sothing to fill his pockets. Unless it’s the All-Eternal Paradise, he can fit in anywhere.”

“Instead, following us only delays his own Life.”

Ash said, “He doesn’t care.”

“He should care,” Igula suddenly kicked up a curtain of splashing water. “He’s a genius.”

“Unlike soone like you entangled with fortune and misfortune, or , just a bit clever as a Mage, he’s talented.”

“When we were in Dazzling Star, I took so ti to watch a drama where the heroine is very clever but hangs out with low-class people due to poor family conditions, wasting her days away.”

“There’s a supporting character who tells the heroine, ‘Every ti I co looking for you, I hope you don’t respond, so I can be delighted to find that you’ve moved to a better place to harness your Talent, vanishing without a trace, and we would never et again.'”

Igula looked up at the Allstars on the Heavenly Curtain, “I’ve always hoped that one day he and his Coffin would suddenly disappear… before we get ourselves killed.”

Ash seed montarily lost, then suddenly burst into laughter, “I really didn’t expect…”

“Of course, you didn’t expect it. You surely thought we eagerly followed you into life and death, right?”

“No, I didn’t expect you to have such a weak thought.”

Igula raised his eyebrows, “Weak?”

“Do you know when I’m the most anxious?” Ash said, “It’s when we first arrived in Senluo.”

“Without Fate’s arrangent, without the oppression of the strong, you two ca to Senluo because of . Clearly, you could’ve lived a life of Happiness and Comfort in Gospel. At that ti, I thought, if we’d parted ways earlier, you wouldn’t be dragged down by .”

“Later, after so events, I made Sword Maiden sad, and I wondered if she’d be better off if she hadn’t t .”

“But then, I let it go.”

Igula: “Why?”

“Because Sword Maiden forgave ,” Ash replied. “Otherwise, could it be because of you guys?”

“…”

“But I also know you never blad ,” Ash said. “My anxiety stemd from thinking there was a path for you that would be better. But from the beginning, I’ve been a beautiful and important part of your lives, and you can’t let go—hey, don’t push ! Rose really will hit you!”

“Conversely, if you guys run into trouble, I could never ignore it.” Ash laughed, “I can’t remove you from my Life now.”

“It’s the sa for Harvey, too. The path you imagined for him was never an option. He likes studying corpses, but he has to study them near us. Even if he weren’t poisoned, he’d bring a Necromancy army to follow us into Hell.”

Igula sighed, “Though it feels like it should be moving, Necromancers are really disgusting…”

Ash was also conflicted, “Yeah… I could risk my Life for Harvey, but I really wouldn’t want to invite him to my wedding.”

“It’s okay; you can invite him to just one wedding, and you’ll only ruin one.”

“Why do you make it sound like I’ll have many weddings?”

“Do you really plan to have just one?” Igula raised his eyebrows, “Do you think they’d agree to have it together?”

Ash looked at him for a mont and suddenly said, “Actually, I have a way to block Hell’s Poison.”
