Now reading: Chapter 757 - 592: The Final Trial - Flowing Gold River from Mage Manual, a Fantasy novel by Listening Day.

There was no sensation of weightlessness, no sensation of braking, Gray Fox’s Technology was exemplified in these details as if the Cicada Transformation Chamber hadn’t operated at all.

However, when the chamber door opened, what appeared before Ash was just a strange, underground palace. The humid air seed faintly musty, the pure white stone slab pathway seed integrally molded without any gaps, and the golden do was dazzling yet not vulgar.

The trial was still a trial, nothing had changed.

But the one who could toast to his hotown and the past with him was no longer there. From then on, all he had left was the distance and tomorrow.

Ash drew his blade and walked straight out of the Cicada Transformation Chamber, stepping on the flooded white stone slab creating ripples of water, charging towards Silver Lamp who had just stepped out of the chamber!

Clang!

There were no Technique Spirits, no Miracles, yet the two managed to exchange dozens of offensive and defensive moves within seconds, sweet words and a hidden dagger changed hands back and forth, water splattered all over the ground, the movents of their limbs almost impossible to catch.

They were like deadly enemies wishing to put each other to death with every move; yet they were also like close friends who understood each other the best, as no matter how fierce or cruel the attacks were, they couldn’t inflict even the slightest injury on each other!

Although they had no clear physical sensations, they both deeply realized that their Twins were truly gone.

For the power of the Twins had followed the trajectory of a Miracle, rging into their souls. The nearly flawless coordinated ’combat dance’ at this mont was the best proof.

Before this, their senses could only foresee the ’first layer of the future’. For instance, Ash could predict what Weiser was going to do next, and Weiser could predict what Ash would do next, then they would respond differently and continue predicting.

It was because they needed to constantly adjust their strategies that they ended up both badly hurt, as they could increase the difficulty of each other’s decisions by unexpectedly changing tactics.

But now, Ash and Weiser felt that they could completely ’see the future’.

The future they saw had already factored in that ’the other could also see the future’, and after infinitely overlapping decisions, both of their predictions rged into a perfect spiral, so even the most intense and fierce fight couldn’t injure each other.

In a daze, they discovered they were not only able to see the future but were closer to—

Weaving Fate.

They both saw that they wouldn’t die in this kind of lee, thus, they would not get injured.

Almost simultaneously, Ash and Weiser stopped. Then Ash stepped back three steps, increasing the distance from Weiser.

When they both could see the future, there was no need to maintain a safe distance, even if they were close to each other, it was impossible to assassinate the other. Even the vastest space distance couldn’t provide a sense of security like a mont in ti.

Ash’s movent was rely an expression of his attitude.

So Weiser walked up to him very relaxedly, her voice even revealing a rare hint of humor, "Did you ever have a mont when you hoped everything was just an illusion?"

"We are such creatures, when we are sad and sorrowful, we hope everything is just a nightmare, wake up, and nothing is lost; when we are happy and joyful, we fear everything is just a sweet dream, wake up, and nothing is owned."

"Only eternity isn’t afraid of loss, only eternity truly possesses everything. What difference does it make if you kill ? What’s lost won’t co back."

"That’s the sadness of living in illusions."

Ash gazed at the person behind the fox mask, "Are you that fearful of death, Silver Lamp?"

Weiser seed to hear a joke and scoffed, "I fear death?"

"It’s because of fear that you so stubbornly look forward to the journey after death, glamorizing and pleading for it," Ash said, "But who isn’t afraid? After all, death can take away all tangible things, and people like you who have nothing naturally try every ans to escape death."

"But we are different," he said, "Love, respect, friendship, rembrance... our treasures, even death cannot diminish them; rembrance will pass through the Death Veil and connect us."

The effects of the Cicada Transformation were almost imperceptible.

If Ash hadn’t been sure about the Cicada Transformation, he might have thought the enhancent of his senses was a qualitative change resulting from his own efforts. Fortunately, he knew all about the silent sacrifices, so he could rember that the rembrance of the Twins flowed through his veins.

"What’s the point of the nonsense you say from ten ters off the ground, which only those who survive have the right to say?" Weiser sneered coldly: "If you had a chance to make your better half immortal, would you give it up? You wanted to kill just because I got one of the spots, and you angrily felt that I deprived him of the chance to live—but should I deserve to die above for you? I didn’t force you into this trial!"

Ash silently watched her, finally nodding, "That’s right, you really did nothing wrong just now, I was just taking my anger out on you. What I said just now was also just a eulogy from a necromancer, used by living people to comfort themselves..."

"But you rushed to get into the Cicada Transformation Chamber, while I was placed into it," Ash gently wiped his eyes and said earnestly, "That’s the difference between you and ."

Weiser originally wanted to take this opportunity to tornt Ash well.

Guilt, anger, despair, lancholy, sorrow, fear... anything would do, even if he wanted to fight her for three days and three nights, she didn’t care, she just wanted to see Ash hysterical, best if he was so angry that his expressions twisted, or so sad that he wept, or if he angrily cursed at her even better.
