A wolf stood before him.
It was nearly four ters tall, with long yellow fangs. Its tongue hung out, dripping with saliva as if it were starving.
DING!
(Level 10 Monster!)
Mateo received the notification.
He panicked and felt fear instinctively, forgetting his belief that this was just a ga and that he didn’t care about life or death since he would still be alive on Earth.
Whoosh!
Without realizing it, he converted all his Spiritual Energy into fire and released it instantly.
As if he were a bomb, the flas spread everywhere until he couldn’t see anything, yet he didn’t feel any heat.
He only realized that the flas had filled the entire cave.
His Spiritual Energy was enough to create such a massive fire.
Interestingly, even after using all his energy, he found that it was imdiately replenished by his body. He didn’t even understand how it worked.
Because he was too worried, he kept using his energy to release more fire.
Once, twice, he did it repeatedly without stopping until ten tis.
Only after that did he feel safe.
As the flas began to fade, he was stunned.
The cave was gone. He suddenly found himself standing on ground covered in ash.
Even the forest around the cave had turned into ash within a considerable radius.
Further away, the once lush forest had beco dry and scorched.
He couldn’t see the wolf anymore, only ashes covering the ground.
DING!
(You have killed a Level 10 Monster. You gained 0.10 Heaven Path Soul Energy and 10 System Points!)
[Soul:]
Heaven Path Soul > 5.10 (SSS Class Soul)
[System Point: 10]
The system notification appeared, clarifying what had happened.
The wolf had turned into ashes.
Did the Monster Core also turn into ash? Mateo wondered.
He had heard from William that monsters would drop a Monster Core when they died. It could be consud to increase Spiritual Energy faster, depending on how much one could absorb.
Even many wealthy people on Earth were willing to buy it, as Monster Cores were the currency of that world.
Mateo beca more aware that he was stronger than he thought.
However, the amount of Heaven Path Soul Energy he received from killing a Level 10 Monster was very small.
He felt dissatisfied.
After observing the surroundings for a mont, he quickly left.
As soone from a village, he could rember paths in the forest more easily, so he had no trouble returning to the town.
When he tried to enter the town, the guards checked his body briefly and allowed him in after confirming nothing was unusual.
Fortunately, the System had an Inventory, so he could hide his items.
He waited for William without knowing when he would return.
While waiting, his Spiritual Energy continued to increase, though slowly.
It turned out William didn’t make him wait long.
He ca back looking ssy, with a swollen cheek as if he had been punched.
Excitent was visible on his face when he saw Mateo.
He ran toward him after passing inspection and pulled him into an empty alley.
"So, you got it, right?" he asked.
"Yes..." Mateo took out the bottle containing the green liquid, the Extract of Primordial Life, and it was imdiately taken by William.
"Is this item very expensive? What is its origin? What does it an that this is an Extract of Primordial Life?" Mateo asked curiously.
"Expensive? Of course, it’s very expensive..." William nodded. "Primordial Life is the strongest form of life elent. This bottle alone is equivalent to 10,000 Spiritual Energy worth of Primordial Life. It’s the most valuable item I’ve ever obtained. It can be sold for up to 5,000 dollars. Soone once got a much larger bottle and sold it for 50,000."
Mateo was even more shocked by those numbers.
But instead of being drawn to the money, he was curious about sothing else.
"How is so much Primordial Life turned into just a single bottle?" he asked.
"I don’t know. It’s an ancient relic. No one has Primordial Life Elent anymore in the All-Star Kingdom."
"Really, no one?" Mateo was shocked again.
"Even the Life Elent itself is already very rare, let alone Primordial Life Elent. ’Primordial’ ans the highest tier of an elent. Its power is unimaginable."
Mateo, "..."
You know, I have two Primordial Elents, he thought.
"Mateo, I’ll sell this now. You can go back first. I’ll give you your share later. But my contribution is bigger, and I was the one who found it, so I’ll take more," William said before running off.
Mateo could only nod, but he began thinking about how to extract his own Primordial Life.
He then decided to log out of that world and woke up in his room.
"Mateo, what were you guys doing?" Jack, who had been waiting, asked.
Mateo glanced at William’s sleeping body before explaining everything to Jack.
After hearing it, Jack took a deep breath.
"Damn William, he put you in danger. You could’ve been attacked by another monster and eaten alive," he said.
That was indeed true. Mateo just didn’t ntion that he was the one who turned the monster into ash.
After so ti, William finally opened his eyes, smiling.
He quickly took out his phone, and his smile widened.
"Mateo, I’ll send you your money," he said.
"Yeah..." Mateo didn’t refuse money.
By simply pointing his phone cara at Mateo’s phone screen, William transferred the money.
1000 dollars.
He gave him 1000 dollars, more than Mateo had expected.
William didn’t seem selfish after all.
"Mateo, thanks for helping . Next ti, don’t hesitate to ask for my help if you need it," he said before leaving the dorm.
Jack just watched him.
"Jack, do you know how to extract power to create sothing like the Extract of Primordial Life?" Mateo asked.
"I don’t know..." Jack shook his head. "Wait, do you have the Life Elent?"
"Yes..." Mateo nodded reluctantly since Jack had guessed it.
The important thing is that he didn’t say it was the Primordial Elent of Life.
"That’s great. You know, Life Elent users are highly sought after. With that, you can join strong hunting teams. Just open the Magic World forum, search for Cloud Valley Town, and promote yourself there."
