Two more days passed.
This ti, Adam didn’t fall unconscious.
He had already completed his light physical exercises, slow stretches, assisted steps and controlled movents to restore coordination. Breakfast was also done as well.
So now?
He cultivated.
With effort, he adjusted himself into a lotus position on the bed. It still hurt, but the pain was tolerable. He began practicing the upgraded essence absorption technique, breathing slow, rhythm steady.
Essence flowed.
At that mont, the door opened and Redy walked in.
Adam paused his cultivation.
"You’re back."
Redy didn’t answer imdiately. She stepped inside, kicked off her shoes, and casually removed her outer clothes, tossing them into the laundry basket.
Now left in her underwear, she stretched slightly.
"I worked up a sweat during cultivation," she said. "I need to shower."
Adam found that statent... peculiar.
But he didn’t comnt.
She walked into the bathroom, and monts later, the sound of water filled the room.
Adam resud absorbing essence.
And I told her to stop undressing in front of .
She might be comfortable with it but he wasn’t.
At least not yet.
His thoughts briefly wandered...
If she were two years older...
He cut that line of thinking imdiately.
Focus.
The hot water running in the shower beca calming background noise. The steady rhythm of falling water matched his breathing as essence flowed into him smoothly.
His mind settled into clarity.
His pores drew in the ambient energy around him, the upgraded technique minimizing strain while maximizing intake.
He briefly considered using stored resources to accelerate absorption, but it was not worth it now.
In his current state, not only would it aggravate his wounds, but the boost wouldn’t even be enough to trigger a breakthrough.
The shower sound soon stopped and the sudden silence made Adam open his eyes.
Redy stepped out, tying a pink bathrobe around herself. She began drying her hair with a towel.
Adam halted his absorption.
"By the way what kind of cultivation requires you to co back drenched in sweat?"
He knew cultivation could be strenuous. But with a proper technique, sweating buckets wasn’t normal, especially not at her level.
Redy stopped drying her hair.
She answered casually.
"It’s just dual cultivation."
"..."
Adam let out a slow sigh.
"If you didn’t want to tell ," he said flatly, "you could’ve just said that."
Redy looked at him.
"It’s not what you think."
Adam raised a brow.
"Well, what else could it an?"
Redy rolled her eyes slightly as she picked up moisturizer from the table.
"The type of dual cultivation you’re thinking about," she said casually while applying it, "wouldn’t even work properly in practice."
Adam blinked, as she continued without embarrassnt.
"The private parts have the least number of pores in the body. Essence absorption there is inefficient."
Adam’s mind paused.
Really?
He didn’t let his curiosity show though.
The last thing he wanted was to look like so ignorant kid getting excited over things like that.
Still...
"Then why call it dual cultivation?" he asked calmly.
Redy capped the moisturizer, set it aside, and put on a large white sleeveless shirt before sitting on the bed across from him.
"It’s because of how it’s used," she said.
Adam waited.
"But before I explain that," she added, "do you actually know what an absorption technique is?"
Adam nodded.
"And you know the two types?"
Adam nodded again.
"The standard and the upgraded. The upgraded one gets revised periodically."
"Correct," she said. "But there’s a third type."
Adam’s eyes sharpened.
"A unique absorption technique."
She leaned back slightly.
"The upgraded technique is good," she admitted. "But it will never be perfect"
"The fact it is designed for mass use. And can’t be tailored to one person’s soul frequency, body composition, or affinity is the reason why it can never be perfect."
Adam caught on quickly.
"But a unique technique can."
Redy smiled.
"Precisely."
Then her tone shifted slightly.
"Let tell you sothing most people don’t think about."
Adam focused.
"The upgraded absorption technique only has a 75% essence absorption efficiency."
Adam frowned.
That sounded low, but not catastrophic.
"It’s not terrible," he said after thinking it through.
Redy tilted her head.
"It wouldn’t be," she said calmly, "if that 75% wasn’t achieved in the 100th edition."
That hit differently.
Adam stared at her.
"You’re joking."
"I’m not."
He swallowed.
"What about the 1024th edition?" he asked quickly.
Redy paused.
She knew why he asked.
She shifted slightly.
"I haven’t used that edition, so I wouldn’t know."
Adam stared at her.
She held his gaze for three seconds.
Then folded.
"Each edition increases efficiency by one ten-thousandth of a percent."
Adam blinked.
"That’s practically nothing."
"But it’s still the best available for the average martial artist," Redy replied calmly.
Adam didn’t know whether to feel cheated for buying it or impressed that despite its inefficiencies, it still allowed him to break through.
"Why specify average?" he asked.
Redy’s eyes sharpened slightly.
"Because only soone with far above-average comprehension or talent," she said, "can create a unique cultivation technique."
Adam looked at her.
"And your unique absorption technique is called... dual cultivation?"
Redy nodded casually.
"I don’t know in which life I created it," she said. "But it was among the first pieces of knowledge I received after awakening this ti."
She leaned back slightly.
"Unlike the upgraded absorption technique, which minimizes movent and focuses primarily on pore control, mine is different."
Adam listened carefully.
"It takes inspiration from the standard technique," she continued. "High-intensity physical movents. Full-body exertion."
She smiled faintly.
"And it has to be perford under direct sunlight."
Adam’s brows lifted slightly.
"Why?"
"Because my affinity is Holy Light," she replied simply. "Under the sun, the environntal resonance amplifies the absorption."
She folded her arms loosely.
"The result is trendous. My essence absorption rate reaches 100%."
Adam absorbed that quietly.
So that’s why she cos back drenched in sweat.
It wasn’t inefficiency.
It was efficiency pushed to its peak.
High-output movent affinity resonance personalized frequency alignnt An SSS rank Cultivation talent.
It made sense.
Then Adam asked sothing else.
"By chance... did any version of ever give you a unique technique?"
Redy shook her head.
"Unfortunately, no. And even if you did in so cycle, I don’t recall it."
Adam exhaled slowly.
"Well," he said, "I guess I’ll have to figure it out myself."
Redy smiled.
"It won’t be a problem for you."
She leaned forward and lightly punched his shoulder.
"After all you’re Adam."
He smiled faintly.
"Thanks."
Then sothing clicked.
He looked at her again.
"From the way you described it... the na doesn’t make sense."
Redy blinked.
"What do you an?"
"You’re doing intense solo physical cultivation under the sun. There’s nothing dual about that."
Redy paused.
Then waved it off.
"The na doesn’t have to match," she said casually. "As long as it sounds exciting, that’s what matters.
"...."
