"These are the Heart-Shaped Herbs Erik sent us."
Mystique, Raven, solemnly placed a wooden box on the table. Several strange plants giving off a faint purple glow appeared before everyone's eyes.
"The good stuff that can massively boost a person's physical abilities?"
Beside her, Azazel's tail snaked out, curled around one of the Heart-Shaped Herbs, and brought it up to his nose for a sniff. "Aside from glowing, it doesn't seem any different from ordinary flowers and grass."
"You can choose not to eat it."
An elegant female voice drifted over. Emma Frost reached out and lightly pinched up two Heart-Shaped Herbs, then casually handed one to Riptide beside her. "We've never even heard of sothing this valuable before. You don't want it? Plenty of people do."
"I wonder if eating this thing will let inject adamantium into my body too, just like my stupid little brother."
A rough voice rang out. A burly figure abruptly reached out with a clawed hand and took the portion that belonged to him.
"According to Erik, an unprecedentedly brutal war is already close at hand. Our peaceful days will soon be gone for good."
"Before long, Trask's war will spread here. Before that happens, we need to arm ourselves as quickly as possible."
Raven's gaze swept across everyone's faces. "The X-n are already equipped with new weapons designed to counter the Sentinel robots. Our equipnt will arrive soon as well."
"Until then, we still can't let down our guard. We need to familiarize ourselves with the combat characteristics of those big things as quickly as possible, so we don't get wiped out before we even know what hit us."
"Raven, you make it sound easy, but the Brotherhood's situation is completely different from the X-n's."
Emma frowned and began counting on her fingers. "They have that freak Colin, plus Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops, Iceman, Pyro..."

The casual frivolity on Azazel's face vanished almost in an instant. Before his voice had even faded, his entire body turned into a cloud of red mist and disappeared from the room.
"Raven, enemy attack. Sound the alarm imdiately!"
Less than a second later, Azazel's figure reappeared before everyone's eyes.
"At least twenty transport aircraft have already surrounded us completely. They may be wary of Magneto, because they've stopped in the distance and don't dare co closer."
"But the sky is full of robots. They're at least over ten ters tall, and they're extrely fast. I'm afraid it won't be long before they land on the island."
At that mont, Azazel's face was already filled with lingering fear, as if he had seen so terrifying sight.
The instant he had appeared outside the island just now, countless horrifying faces covered in fine, dense scales had almost simultaneously turned to look at him.

Raven sprang up almost instantly. She quickly pulled a communicator from her waist. "Everyone, evacuate imdiately!"
An unbearably shrill alarm imdiately echoed across the island's sky.
The buzzing that represented the highest danger level made everyone on the island drop whatever they were doing without the slightest hesitation and surge toward the ergency shelter Magneto had prepared for them long ago.
It was an underground base made entirely of high-strength alloy several ters thick. Staying inside would at least give these people a sliver of a chance to survive in a hopeless situation.
"Notify Magneto and the X Academy imdiately!"
In the ergency, Raven took command at once. "Azazel, Emma, go organize everyone and evacuate them underground right now. Make sure you get them all safely into the shelter."
"Yes."
Azazel did not dare delay. He reached out, pressed his hand on Emma's shoulder, and the two of them vanished.
"Who has Colin's contact information?"
Raven forced herself to calm down. "Only if he cos do we have any chance of surviving this."
"I do!"
Sabretooth raised his hand without hesitation.
He was the Brotherhood mber Colin had beaten the worst, and he was also the one who had known Colin the earliest.
"Call him now. Right now, imdiately!"
"I can't. All communications here were cut off just now!"
A mont later, Sabretooth turned his head ashen-faced, his voice extrely low. "Even the hidden communications Erik left behind have all failed. We've completely beco an isolated island..."

A closer look revealed that those black clouds were actually made entirely of towering Sentinel robots. They ford a dense, packed mass, descending from the sky like locusts and landing on this stretch of land far from the mainland.
Houses, farmland, markets...
Wherever this swarm of ten-ter-tall giant robots passed, everything on the island was easily flattened, leaving only devastation behind.
