"Everyone, run!"
"Don't stop! Whatever you do, don't stop!"
The attack had co without warning. Bolivar's sudden move was beyond everyone's expectations, but thanks to the Brotherhood's combined efforts, the islanders were evacuated with remarkable efficiency.
In only a short while, most of the ordinary people with little combat ability had already been evacuated into the shelter Magneto had hidden underground in advance.
But manpower had its limits. Although everyone had already pushed themselves to the limit, as more and more Sentinel robots poured onto the island all at once, the peaceful, harmonious life they had known was easily torn to pieces beneath those machines' rciless devastation.
Before long, the first person fell into their hands.
Before steel giants over ten ters tall, even Hulk would have to look up at them, let alone these ordinary mutants who had no strength to fight back.
The scale armor covering the Sentinels' entire bodies began to shift. In the blink of an eye, it simulated a texture like tal. Their arms continuously extended and warped, actually growing long, slender claws identical to Lady Deathstrike's.
Bodies of flesh and blood had almost no resistance before those claws. Several mutants fleeing in panic were pierced through in an instant and easily skewered together.
As the long, powerful arms swung, their bodies were torn apart with ease, leaving only a rain of blood beneath the clear sky and filth scattered across the ground.
Like wolves among sheep, in only a few breaths, dozens of mutants who had fallen behind the crowd were slaughtered.
For a ti, panicked screams and wails echoed to the heavens. The order Raven and the others had struggled to maintain was easily shattered beneath the violent massacre.
Blood dyed the earth red, and everyone instantly collapsed into chaos.
"No!"
Sabretooth, who saw this scene from afar, had his eyes turn bloodshot in an instant.
In his nearly hundred years of wandering, this island had given him a rare sense of belonging and peace.
Relying on his healing factor, Sabretooth extended his claws and turned around almost without hesitation, charging against the flow of people. Nearly mad with rage, he rushed toward the Sentinels that were slaughtering wantonly.
"Mystique, keep trying to contact Magneto and Colin until you get through!"
Raven felt her hand sink as the special communicator fell into her grasp.
Sabretooth's voice still lingered by her ear. In the next mont, his figure had already cut through the crowd and hurled itself at those powerful enemies more than five tis taller than he was.
"Fight these beasts!"
"Buy everyone ti!"
Almost at the sa mont, Riptide, half his hair already grayed yet still dressed in an impeccable suit, cast aside the gentlemanly restraint he had held onto for half his life and roared until his voice nearly tore.
He reached up, yanked off the expensive bow tie at his neck, and threw it hard to the ground. Then he raised both hands high.
A gale rose from beneath his feet, carrying him straight into the air.
"As long as I'm here, not one of you is getting past!"
A furious roar rang out.
In the next instant, the dark clouds pressing down overhead began to spin madly. A hurricane connecting sky and earth ford almost in an instant, and the violent winds swallowed several Sentinel robots in the blink of an eye.
Riptide's move greatly slowed the rhythm of the Sentinels' advance. Before power nearly akin to a natural disaster, these artificial creations, no matter how strong, still seed stretched thin.
However, after decades of ticulous planning, Bolivar had long since made every preparation in order to wipe out the Brotherhood completely.
At the Sentinels' first public debut, how could he not have calculated that this might happen?
Riptide could hold one side, but no matter what, he could not stop the attacks coming from every other direction.
The island where the Brotherhood was based was already surrounded on all sides. As more and more Sentinels landed from other directions, the mutants' battle line could only shrink step by step.
Soon, the evacuation line was completely severed.
So people entered the underground shelter, while the others, cut off by the enemy, had now completely lost their way back. They could only stand back to back and resist with difficulty.
Under an overwhelmingly lopsided gap in strength, even though nearly a hundred mutants with decent combat power stepped forward one after another, this resistance was destined to do no more than delay the inevitable for a short while.
A mutant with the ability to change color carefully hid himself among the treetops and desperately held his breath, trying to win himself the faintest chance of survival.
But the X-Gene inside him had nowhere to hide in the Sentinels' eyes. With a casual thrust, one of them easily ended him on the spot.
As if deliberately toying with them, the mutants who had not made it into the shelter and were still above ground were surrounded like sheep.
Hundreds of towering Sentinels gathered together, forming an iron wall that left everyone with no path of retreat. All they could do was watch helplessly as the encirclent shrank little by little.
Azazel's figure flickered madly through the dense swarm of Sentinels. His sharp tail slashed against their shells, but it only threw up tiny sparks.
Under the siege of countless steel claws, even his counterattacks beca increasingly strained.
On the other side, Sabretooth leapt high into the air, but the claws that had once carried him through every battle now seed so powerless.
The agile footwork he had honed through countless battles also lost all effect beneath the overwhelming difference in numbers.
Soon, because of a slight mistake in his positioning, Sabretooth's opening was keenly caught by a Sentinel. A sharp arm blade easily pierced through his body.
Amid a low growl of pain, Sabretooth was seized from the front and rear by two Sentinels. Their enormous chanical bodies only exerted a little force before tearing him easily in two.
"No!"
"Sabretooth!"
Not far away, Azazel witnessed the scene, his eyes widening in disbelief. He had never imagined that a comrade who had fought beside him for so long would et such an end.
In the crowd, Raven's eyes instantly went vacant.
The communicator in her hand seed to still hold the lingering warmth Victor had left behind, yet that powerful man had already been casually thrown into the distance like a torn rag.
"Bang!"
Victor's body smashed into the ground. A pair of massive feet rolled over him, easily crushing his chest cavity flat.
The fury on his face froze in that instant. The light in his eyes slowly faded as well, leaving only the faintest, almost imperceptible glimr behind.
On the other side, Emma Frost, who was madly using her powers to command the many mutants in battle, suddenly felt a chill behind her.
A nearly two-ter-long blade suddenly extended from the shadows without warning and slashed toward her head.
Seeing this, Emma's agile figure quickly dodged to the side. At the sa ti, without hesitation, she severed the telepathic link connecting her to dozens of people and chose to transform her entire body into diamond to resist the damage.
Yet even so, the Sentinel's blade still sliced easily across her leg.
A long, fair leg fell to the ground and was quickly trampled into a mass of pulp.
