"Emma!"

Azazel appeared at Emma Frost's side and quickly teleported her into the middle of the crowd.

"I'm fine. It's only one leg."

Agony kept screaming through her nerves. Emma clenched her teeth, desperately enduring the pain.

With her present, everyone's coordination could improve by several levels through their connected minds.

After roughly stopping the bleeding and bandaging the wound, she forced herself to deactivate her diamond form. Powerful psychic waves surged out and once again connected her to the warriors resisting the Sentinels like mad.

In the blink of an eye, the formation that had already begun to scatter miraculously stabilized again.

"We'll fight them!"

Protected in the center, the civilians watched with their own eyes as countless warriors charged forward one after another, buying them every precious breath. For a ti, low sobs rose one after another.

After grief ca extre fury. Hundreds of people went red-eyed and surged toward enemies far stronger than themselves.

They had no combat power. Even if they threw themselves into the fight like madn, they could not hurt those killing machines in the slightest.

Even so, not a single person chose to retreat.

Amid the earth-shaking cries of battle, the situation at the distant shelter was just as grim.

The mutants gathered together could not hide from the Sentinels' scans at all, even though they were underground.

Nearly a hundred Sentinels gathered together and began digging frantically. Before long, the shelter buried deep beneath the earth was completely exposed to the sunlight.

The Sentinels looked at one another. Their once-steel shells almost simultaneously burst into raging flas, and then they pressed their scorching hands heavily against the shelter's ceiling.

Inside the shelter, everything was deathly silent. Everyone was staring nervously overhead.

Heat gradually accumulated. As ti passed, that spot had already begun to glow with a scorching red-white light.

"Please hold..."

Soone began praying silently.

Yet in only a short while, the supposedly indestructible alloy began lting and softening bit by bit.

Scalding molten iron dripped from the ceiling with hissing sounds, instantly throwing the shelter into another wave of panic.

As if they had already foreseen their own future, so people even closed their eyes in despair.

Under the threat of death, silent fear began spreading quietly through the shelter.

"Boom!"

No one knew how much ti had passed before a sudden groan ca from overhead. The ceiling, several ters thick, was lifted high by nearly a hundred Sentinels and moved aside bit by bit.

As sunlight from outside spilled down little by little, dense clusters of hideous tal heads leaned in almost at the sa ti.

"Ah!"

Piercing screams rang out all at once. In the encirclent not far away, everyone's faces turned pale when they heard the terrified wails and screams from the distance.

"The shelter... has fallen too."

"Is today really ant to be our end...?"

Mystique's eyes were filled with bleakness, but her hands still chanically pressed the ergency communicator.

But after all this ti, aside from a fleeting crackle of static when she had just tried to contact Fenris, there had been no feedback at all.

Hundreds of Sentinels blocked their path in a dark mass. They pressed closer step by step, like an unbreakable wall of steel, completely cutting off everyone's path to survival.

A cloud of red mist dispersed, and Emma appeared beside Raven with a hand braced on Azazel's shoulder.

Because she had overused her powers, Emma's already fair face had turned deathly pale, without the slightest trace of blood.

After losing a leg, even her usual elegance and composure were gone.

"Azazel, even you can't get out now?"

By this point, even Raven's face was filled with despair.

"I can't..."

Azazel let out a deep sigh.

Bolivar's research into them had already reached a terrifying depth, and his precautions were even more exhaustive.

At the very beginning of the battle, Azazel had already tried to break out with the communicator, but reality had struck him with a brutal blow.

The island's surroundings had now been completely sealed off. He could not use his power to teleport away at all.

"These people are too cunning. Even the aircraft outside have jamming devices installed..."

Azazel's eyes were filled with bitterness.

After living for more than a thousand years, was he finally going to die here?

The situation was already clear. In this battle, the Sentinels were nearly crushing them from an entirely higher dinsion.

Sabretooth had died in battle.

Riptide was pinned down to one side, struggling bitterly to hold on.

Emma Frost had been crippled.

Even Azazel was trapped on the island.

The Brotherhood's main combat strength was completely helpless before these monsters.

They could not even send a single ssage out...

"Erik, avenge us..."

The light in Raven's golden eyes had completely faded.

The communicator in her hand quietly fell to the ground, making a faint crack.

After the mutants had completely lost all power to resist, the Sentinels seed to have grown tired of this cat-and-mouse ga as well.

Amid heavy footsteps, their arms shifted shape, and coldly gleaming blades rose high.

Watching the Sentinels approach step by step, everyone began trembling uncontrollably. One after another, they closed their eyes in despair.

"It's over..."

"I don't want to die!"

Soft sobs ca from the crowd.

So people wailed loudly. So sobbed under their breath.

So straightened their chests. So raised their heads high and stared directly at the blades falling toward them bit by bit.

"Please, spare ..."

In this desperate situation, so people could no longer bear the fear, and their emotions suddenly collapsed.

They crawled out of the group and actually dropped to their knees before those lifeless robots, trying to fight for the faintest chance of survival.

"My brothers and sisters, stand up! Do not kneel!"

But the Sentinels' blades fell without obstruction, easily cutting those people in two.

In the next instant, a deafening voice suddenly rang out from the horizon.

Without a sound, the magnetic field across hundreds of kiloters of sea suddenly began to riot. Rolling waves of sound swept across the entire island in an instant.

"Whoosh!"

Just as they raised their blades again, their arms about to swing down toward Mystique and the others, a sharp sound of sothing tearing through the air suddenly rang out from above without warning.

An enormous black shadow covered the entire land almost instantly.

Azazel seed to realize sothing in an instant and jerked his head up.

A battle axe nearly thirty ters long, wrapped in overwhelming force, descended from the sky with a crushing sense of pressure.

Like a streak of light tearing across the heavens, the giant axe smashed down hard into the densest cluster of Sentinels in the next instant.

A powerful impact swept across the entire battlefield in a flash, centered on the point where the giant axe landed.

The dozens of Sentinels closest to it had no strength to resist the force. They were flung away with ease.

"Boom!"

Only in the next second did the enormous roar finally arrive, making everyone instinctively cover their ears.

"Did that kid co?"

Although Azazel had never seen this wildly exaggerated giant axe before, he sensed an incredibly familiar presence from it almost imdiately.

The giant axe had fallen from the sky. Its sharp blade easily split the earth, leaving behind a deep fissure.

With that single strike alone, countless Sentinels were destroyed on the spot. Countless fragnts of broken tal limbs scattered casually around the giant axe.

The nearly thirty-ter handle pointed slantwise toward the sky, flashing with dazzling red light like molten lava. The steel giants that had once seed towering and unmatched in everyone's eyes looked strangely tiny before the giant axe.

"It's Fenris! He's here!"

"It's definitely him. I couldn't mistake it!"

At that mont, Azazel's heart, which had already fallen into deathly stillness, suddenly began pounding violently again. The light of hope abruptly burned in his eyes once more.

"And Magneto's voice too. Our reinforcents are here!"

"We're saved!"

Thunderous cheers erupted. After escaping death by a hair, Azazel's voice nearly cracked from sheer surprise.

At that mont, everyone's gaze instinctively turned toward the distant sky.

Under countless expectant eyes, a massive dinsional portal flickering with sparks had appeared silently high overhead at so unknown point.
