Kakashi materialized in a swirl of chakra in Fury's office who looked from his laptop without any surprise. He was quite used to Kakashi appearing in his office like this.
He had learned to keep his face straight and to hide his surprise. It would take away his cool spymaster vibes if he was surprised by his own agent in his own office.
Kakashi stood at attention as he reported, "They have agreed to send three people from Earth on the ship due to limited capacity. The ship is of 30-person capacity, with most being Asgardian soldiers, a few mages who will run the ship using magic and serve as pilots, led by the swordswoman who ca with Thor to Earth."
Fury's eye widened, "Mages? Like the magic? The Harry Potter kind?"
Kakashi's tone was flat,"Yes."
Fury leaned back exasperated. "First gods, then aliens, and now magic. Kakashi, why have all the weird things started happening after you ca into my life?"
His voice dripped with irritation, his eye twitching as he pictured gods and wizards invading his orderly world.
Kakashi smirked beneath his mask, but he offered no reply. He thought, 'Sotis, he sounds like Lord Third. He always was annoyed by when I ca late to his eting. But he could not say much since well he looked after and I was the best shinobi he had..That's maybe why I love annoying Fury by ignoring him or coming late to et him.'
Fury's thoughts fud. 'He's doing it again. Ignoring .' The lack of response only deepened Fury's scowl, his fingers drumming the desk.
Fury sighed, his thoughts resigned. "They're just sending one ship? Aren't they supposed to be a super alien empire ruling nine realms? And they can only spare one ship?"
Kakashi's voice was calm, "I believe that's the exact reason they're sending one ship. They can't spare more with so much of their territory. Even their palace had security that left a lot to be desired."
His mind flashed to Amora and Skurge's ambush in the palace gardens.
'I an, just now two people infiltrated the palace and attacked and managed to escape, and the only one to show up was the prince of Asgard himself, no soldiers or guards.'
Fury's thoughts churned, "Very well, we'll have to make do with the limited slots we have. You'll be one of the people going. You're the only one who can deal with Loki and strong enough to handle other alien threats."
Kakashi nodded.
Fury continued, "Make sure to keep Blonsky and Creel on their toes before you leave. I heard you took out a Hand group in Hell's Kitchen. Good job with that. Give them other such missions; we can't have them waiting for you to return."
"Understood," Kakashi said, his voice neutral. He was not surprised that Fury knew about the existence of Hand but he was pretty sure that Fury did not know that it's leaders were immortal or he would have given a mission for him to have them eliminated by now.
Fury's fingers tapped his desk,"As for the other two people, let's call them and brief them up." He sent quick ssages through his comms to two of his best agents.
There was an awkward silence as Kakashi stared into Fury and Fury glared at Kakashi.
The door opened after a few minutes, and Agent Natasha Romanoff stepped in.
Kakashi mumbled under his breath, his voice dry. "Can't say I'm surprised."
'At this point, I'm sure Fury's trying to play matchmaker between and her.'
Agent Maria Hill entered next. Both won saluted Fury.
Fury's voice was matter-of-fact, as if assigning a routine op. "Agent Romanoff and Agent Hill, you both will accompany Agent Hound to outer space. Your responsibility will be to gather intel about the wider universe with your talents and skills."

Maria managed a nod, but Natasha's voice cut through, "Outer space?"
"You've been briefed about the Asgard situation previously. Agent Hound managed to negotiate with them and secure us a ride to outer space."
Both nodded, Natasha asked, "What are our objectives, sir?"
Fury leaned forward, "Figure out how their Asgardian ship works, gain intel about other aliens whether they're friendly or not, whether it's worth for Earth to build a connection with them, their levels of sapience, technology, and if they have any special abilities. Apprehend Loki; I don't want him roaming freely in the universe. From what I've heard about him, he's the scheming type who'd take revenge on us because we aided his brother."
Both nodded.
Fury's tone grew lighter, "Good, agents, pack up. And Hound, make sure these two return alive. These two are the best I have, and if they die, can you imagine how much workload would fall on ? I don't even have hair to pull out from the stress, but if they die, I'll be balder than bald!"
Fury's eye locked onto Kakashi seriously, "And you make sure to co back alive too."
