In theory, things were one way. In practice, they were another.

In just a short ti, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit had already brought Matthew enormous surprises—so much so that he wished he could spend twenty hours a day inside the Mirror Dinsion studying and developing its abilities.

But he couldn't devote all his energy to this alone. Magic required ti, and physical training demanded its share as well.

It made Matthew feel that there still wasn't enough ti.

If only he had a Ti-Turner from the Harry Potter world.

Or even the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique from Naruto.

Speaking of shadow clones—

Matthew actually had managed to develop light clones and lightning clones, and they were quite useful.

Unfortunately, they were fundantally different from shadow clones.

In Naruto, the Shadow Clone Technique essentially split the user's chakra evenly. Each clone was a complete individual with independent consciousness and independent thought.

They could think for themselves, fight on their own, carry out missions independently, and train or study by themselves.

Once the clone was dispelled, all mories, experiences, training results, and observations would return to the original body instantly.

It was a division of soul consciousness and energy—true duplicates possessing independent minds.

But light clones were completely different.

They were nothing more than optical projections and solid afterimages condensed from light energy.

Not a split consciousness, but simply energy-ford mimicry created through light refraction and concentrated light.

Every movent, attack, and step taken by the light clones had to be controlled synchronously by the original body, like remote-controlled puppets. They couldn't think for themselves, nor could they adapt independently in battle.

Lightning clones were roughly the sa in nature.

Still, Matthew was considering combining them with Astral Projection magic from white magic.

Astral projection was a secret art in which the caster tempered their willpower and used mystic energy to separate their soul from their physical body, entering the Astral Dinsion—commonly known as an out-of-body experience.

Much like the Mirror Dinsion, the Astral Dinsion existed in near-perfect synchronization with reality. The difference was that spiritual bodies there could affect the real world.

This secret art could even forcibly drag others into an astral state through direct physical contact at close range.

The problem was that the projected soul remained singular.

Matthew wondered whether it might be possible to split off a portion of consciousness, project it into a light or lightning clone, and lock it there—allowing it to actively study and learn. Then, at the appropriate ti, he could dispel the clone and retrieve the consciousness.

Wouldn't that achieve an effect similar to shadow clones?

After all, it wouldn't be used for combat. Only for learning.

There was potential there.

So Matthew recorded the idea for future experintation and developnt.

But before any of that, he first needed to complete an idea he had planned long ago.

With that thought, he opened a portal and returned to the island base.

The mont he arrived, he ran into Neagley and Natasha.

Along with Skye and Jessica, who had only just arrived at the base.

At first, Skye and Jessica had no idea what was going on. Their first impression was simply that the young man before them was absurdly handso.

Though he wore only a simple jacket, T-shirt, and jeans, his figure was tall and straight. Even through the shirt underneath, the outline of his chest muscles was obvious, and his temperant was exceptionally striking.

Only after hearing Neagley and Natasha address him as "Boss" did they realize Matthew's identity.

They found it hard to believe.

He was actually that mysterious Boss?

The man they would serve from now on.

"Boss."

"This is Skye and Jessica."

Neagley imdiately introduced the two won beside her.

The two girls instantly grew nervous.

"HI, Skye, Jessica. I'm Matthew." Matthew revealed a bright, sunny smile, his tone warm and easygoing.

His personality had always been fairly approachable.

At the sa ti, he knew very well that neither of these two girls was simple.

Jessica Jones was originally destined to beco one of the core mbers of the future Defenders. In her early days, under the hero na Jewel, she fought criminals in Hell's Kitchen.

At the sa ti, she had also originally been one of the most tragic heroines of all.

According to the original tiline, shortly after beginning her career, Jessica would encounter the nightmare of her life—Killgrave.

That madman would use his powers to control her body and imprison her for eight long months, subjecting her to both physical and psychological humiliation throughout the ordeal.

He also manipulated her into harming many innocent people.

The worst part was that Jessica remained fully conscious the entire ti.

So even after she barely escaped Killgrave's control, she completely fell apart. She beca an alcoholic, her temper grew even more volatile, and only after eting people like Daredevil and Luke Cage did she slowly begin to recover.

Fortunately, that nightmare no longer existed.

With Neagley and Natasha's intervention, that chapter of history had been completely erased.

Killgrave had instead been captured and thrown into the research base—reduced to nothing more than disposable test material.

An unexpected outco, but a satisfying one.

Why had Matthew created the Astartes and the Raven Warband? Why build his own forces and actively dismantle the Red Room to rescue those Black Widows?

Aside from serving his own interests, part of it was simply to make up for regrets and settle his conscience.

As far as Matthew was concerned, people like Killgrave and Dreykov deserved to die. Why should good people suffer while scum lived comfortably and carefree?

Even if those people would eventually receive their punishnt in the future, what about the victims hard before that?

Leaving aside his previous life, in this life alone, after experiencing his adoptive father's death due to the collusion between Old Kliner and the local governnt and business circles in Magrave Town, Matthew couldn't claim to be as utterly intolerant of cri as the Punisher.

But at the very least, if soone committed wrongdoing, they had to pay the price.

Fair and simple.

Death.

All those ssy laws, protections, and sentintal excuses were bullshit. Murderers should pay with their lives, and those who inflicted severe harm on innocents deserved the sa.

A prodigal son turning over a new leaf… genuine repentance and reform?

Maybe people like that existed.

But in Matthew's eyes, they all deserved to be put down. If they wanted repentance, they could do it in hell—the human world had no place for people like them. At the very least, he had no interest in knowing about them.

So Matthew was already considering finding so excuse later to justify a serious upgrade to the Punisher, one way or another. He wanted to see blood flow like rivers.

After only a brief mont of thought, his gaze shifted from Jessica to Skye.

This girl was even more extraordinary.

An Inhuman.

She possessed the ability to generate powerful shockwaves, similar to seismic waves.

If she could control them precisely, she could even attack enemies from a distance and turn their brains or internal organs into pulp through vibration alone.

Her only weakness was that her body was too fragile.

The complete opposite of Whitebeard.

That old man possessed a similar power, but Whitebeard's monstrous physique was simply far too powerful—so powerful that even the Tremor-Tremor Fruit's abilities could hardly inflict much damage on his own body.

In Skye's case, her physical strength was only slightly above that of an ordinary person. Compared to a super soldier like Steve Rogers, she was still far from that level.

Because of that, the more she used her vibration abilities, the greater the backlash and strain on her own body.

At one point, overusing her powers had even injured the bones in her hands.

She had eventually been forced to rely on specialized equipnt developed for her by S.H.I.E.L.D.

But if the issue of her physical durability could ever be solved, then the title of "World Destroyer" would truly belong to her.

She would be far more terrifying than Whitebeard.
