One glance made him tremble. Another glance made him want to shrink his head and hide so Matthew wouldn't see him.
That was the extent of his fear.
Victor was also a century-old man. He had been active since World War II and had lived until now. In all that ti, he had encountered many terrifying people.
The foremost was Magneto, whom he followed. Setting aside Magneto's personal charisma, his power alone was enough to ensure Victor would never harbor even the slightest thought of rebellion.
Yet the feeling Magneto gave him was far less intense than what Matthew inspired.

So he decisively launched a pursuit of William Stryker.
Magneto also learned of this news, and in his fury, he likewise joined the hunt.
Unfortunately, William Stryker also had a massive interest group backing him. At the sa ti, after decades of studying mutants, he had an extrely deep understanding of the X-n, Magneto's abilities, and their mbers.
Once he made up his mind to go into hiding, neither side could truly find him.
However, Magneto's side had recently uncovered so leads suggesting that William Stryker had appeared in Puerto Rico, so Magneto ca to investigate.
But then he sensed an extrely powerful burst of energy that erupted for a brief instant, so he made his way to San Juan.
At the ti, Professor X and the X-n were still at the school. After receiving the news, he gathered the X-n and flew over in the Blackbird, the fighter jet personally built by Beast Hank.
Yet before they even arrived, his psychic power detected Magneto unleashing his ability in San Juan.
At the sa ti, a large number of extrely terrifying auras had appeared there.
Originally, he had wanted to use his psychic power to remotely control a participant or a bystander to see what was happening. However, a very special power, one he had never encountered before, was interfering with his psychic power.
After seeing Matthew, Bucky, and the soldiers from the two warband, Professor X roughly understood what was going on.
At the sa ti, he was deeply shaken.
Because Matthew, Bucky, and the soldiers of the two warbands were sowhat terrifying. Professor X also possessed the ability to detect the strength of a person's life aura, only unlike Magneto, he used psychic power to do it.
From Bucky and the others' attitude toward Matthew, Professor X ford a guess.
So his own attitude beca even gentler.
Even though he was worried about his old friend, Erik Lehnsherr.

As for compensation, when soone did sothing wrong, they had to pay the price. That was very normal.
As long as Erik's life was not demanded, everything could be discussed.
And so, the two leaders, Matthew and Professor X, began negotiations over this matter. Professor X's main role was bargaining.

The others were still manageable, but Matthew actually wanted to take so students from his school.
That was unacceptable.
Professor X did not know what kind of person Matthew was, what he had been doing recently, or how he had trained or recruited such a terrifying group of soldiers, nor what he planned to do in the future.
Under such unknown circumstances, he could not casually hand over students to Matthew.
Even if he were to hand them over, he needed to understand the situation on Matthew's side first.
If Matthew's side was a good place that could shelter these students, Professor X would be happy to do so. Why wouldn't he help his students find a good ho?
His whole life had been dedicated to saving mutants and finding a safe place for his kind.
