One glance made him tremble. Another glance made him want to shrink his head and hide so Matthew wouldn't see him.

That was the extent of his fear.

Victor was also a century-old man. He had been active since World War II and had lived until now. In all that ti, he had encountered many terrifying people.

The foremost was Magneto, whom he followed. Setting aside Magneto's personal charisma, his power alone was enough to ensure Victor would never harbor even the slightest thought of rebellion.

Yet the feeling Magneto gave him was far less intense than what Matthew inspired.

On the surface, Matthew was just a young and handso boy.

But Sabretooth Victor saw the terror hidden beneath that appearance.

If Bucky and the other soldiers of the Astartes and Raven Warbands felt to him like volcanoes ready to erupt at any mont, whose lava could swallow him whole once they exploded, then Matthew was the sun.

Incomparably dazzling. Incomparably scorching. rely approaching him would burn soone to ash.

There was no way to survive.

The current Victor had long since lost all his unruly defiance. He only wanted to sing that he had wandered into the heavens by mistake.

So even after his regenerative ability kicked in and his head recovered, Victor remained perfectly obedient, as docile as a ragdoll cat.

His reasoning was simple: since he was already being this obedient, they probably would not kill him, right?

The atmosphere between the two leaders was not tense.

At the very beginning, because of the appetite problem that ca after Matthew's physique grew stronger, he had made a deal with Professor X. Using William Stryker's mutant human-experintation base at Alkali Lake in Canada as a bargaining chip, he obtained the nutritional formula Hank had researched for him.

It was precisely because of this formula that the hidden danger in this aspect of Matthew's body was resolved.

It laid the foundation for his rapid growth afterward.

So the relationship between the two sides could still be considered good.

"It seems we ca late." Professor X was a smart man. After sweeping his gaze over the scene, especially after seeing Mystique Raven and Sabretooth Victor, he had basically guessed the general situation.

He smiled helplessly.

Back then, he had obtained intelligence on William Stryker from Matthew, then led the X-n to break through the human-experintation base at the Alkali Lake dam and rescued the mutants who had been imprisoned there as test subjects.

However, they had not captured William Stryker.

It was true that Professor X was a moderate, but that did not an he was an honest man who would let others slaughter him at will.

In a certain sense, he and Magneto walked two extres. One was due to differences in ideology, while the other was due to the roles they played.

Magneto played the villain to the entire world, while he played the good man.

The two sides played opposing roles to the outside world, ensuring that the nations of the world would not completely target mutants.

Otherwise, if the two most powerful mutants in the world ca together, the people in power across every nation would not be able to sleep at night.

It was precisely because they stood opposed that war would not be drawn in.

As long as the surface-level peace was maintained, they could still leave their compatriots room to survive.

William Stryker had gone too far. Professor X had seen the tragic state of those rescued mutant compatriots, as well as those shocking experintal records.

Only then did he learn just how many mutants had died in that base.

So he decisively launched a pursuit of William Stryker.

Magneto also learned of this news, and in his fury, he likewise joined the hunt.

Unfortunately, William Stryker also had a massive interest group backing him. At the sa ti, after decades of studying mutants, he had an extrely deep understanding of the X-n, Magneto's abilities, and their mbers.

Once he made up his mind to go into hiding, neither side could truly find him.

However, Magneto's side had recently uncovered so leads suggesting that William Stryker had appeared in Puerto Rico, so Magneto ca to investigate.

But then he sensed an extrely powerful burst of energy that erupted for a brief instant, so he made his way to San Juan.

At the ti, Professor X and the X-n were still at the school. After receiving the news, he gathered the X-n and flew over in the Blackbird, the fighter jet personally built by Beast Hank.

Yet before they even arrived, his psychic power detected Magneto unleashing his ability in San Juan.

At the sa ti, a large number of extrely terrifying auras had appeared there.

Originally, he had wanted to use his psychic power to remotely control a participant or a bystander to see what was happening. However, a very special power, one he had never encountered before, was interfering with his psychic power.

After seeing Matthew, Bucky, and the soldiers from the two warband, Professor X roughly understood what was going on.

At the sa ti, he was deeply shaken.

Because Matthew, Bucky, and the soldiers of the two warbands were sowhat terrifying. Professor X also possessed the ability to detect the strength of a person's life aura, only unlike Magneto, he used psychic power to do it.

From Bucky and the others' attitude toward Matthew, Professor X ford a guess.

So his own attitude beca even gentler.

Even though he was worried about his old friend, Erik Lehnsherr.

"You are indeed a little late."

Matthew did not speak tactfully. If the professor had been present at the ti, the situation would not have spiraled out of control to this point.

"Mr. Matthew, if possible, please show Erik rcy."

"Although he is extre, he is not a villain beyond saving. Mutants need him as well."

Since Matthew's manner of speaking and acting was direct, Professor X followed his rhythm and did not hide anything.

"He wanted to torture and kill my soldiers. They need an explanation, Professor."

From the mont Professor X arrived, Matthew already had a sense of the situation.

None of his n had died, which ant there was room to turn this matter around. Magneto was soone who could be killed, but also soone who did not have to be killed.

But asking him to let Magneto go so easily was impossible.

That would be a losing deal.

From beginning to end, Matthew had never let himself suffer a loss, and this matter was no different.

He liked the study of winning.

"I believe he will be willing to offer compensation. So will I, Mr. Matthew." Professor X understood the aning behind his words and quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

It seed Erik was still all right.

As for compensation, when soone did sothing wrong, they had to pay the price. That was very normal.

As long as Erik's life was not demanded, everything could be discussed.

And so, the two leaders, Matthew and Professor X, began negotiations over this matter. Professor X's main role was bargaining.

After all, so of the demands Matthew proposed really were a little excessive.

The others were still manageable, but Matthew actually wanted to take so students from his school.

That was unacceptable.

Professor X did not know what kind of person Matthew was, what he had been doing recently, or how he had trained or recruited such a terrifying group of soldiers, nor what he planned to do in the future.

Under such unknown circumstances, he could not casually hand over students to Matthew.

Even if he were to hand them over, he needed to understand the situation on Matthew's side first.

If Matthew's side was a good place that could shelter these students, Professor X would be happy to do so. Why wouldn't he help his students find a good ho?

His whole life had been dedicated to saving mutants and finding a safe place for his kind.

While the two leaders engaged in earnest discussion on one side, Wolverine Logan and the other X-n watched with strange expressions. They looked at the professor, then at Matthew.

While the two leaders engaged in earnest discussion on one side, Wolverine Logan and the other X-n watched with strange expressions. They looked at the professor, then at Matthew.

What exactly had they just heard?
