At the sa ti, Matthew knew very clearly that all of this was intentional.
Whatever that thing was, it wanted this.
He shifted his gaze toward the vast cloud of dust ahead, ignoring the countless stares fixed on him from behind—stares filled with shock, fear, hope, and disbelief.
As the wind swept through the street, Jennifer's graceful figure slowly floated out of the dust and landed less than thirty ters in front of him.
But at this mont, she looked far more horrifying than beautiful.
Matthew's light-speed kick had twisted her neck to an extre angle, and her once delicate, flawless face had been caved inward. The sight was grotesque and deeply unsettling.
Yet her vitality and regenerative power were terrifyingly strong.
A series of sharp, grating sounds echoed through the air—the sound of bones grinding against each other.
Her twisted neck slowly straightened.
Her sunken face gradually expanded again like an inflating balloon, restoring itself little by little until her original stunning beauty returned.
Jennifer tilted her head slightly, her beautiful eyes reflecting Matthew's figure.
A strange, almost obsessive look appeared on her exquisite face.
Her nose twitched gently as she sniffed the air, as though catching so irresistible scent.
"Such rich, vibrant flesh… such a strong and unusual soul…"
Her lips curled into a smile.
"You sll delicious."
Then, as if she had caught another scent mixed within it—sothing she found deeply unpleasant—her brows furrowed delicately.
"There's also sothing disgusting about you."
For a mont, she seed genuinely conflicted.
To her, the boy standing before her was like food that slled both irresistible and rotten at the sa ti—sothing she desperately wanted to eat, but feared might give her food poisoning afterward.
For a brief mont, no one spoke.
The atmosphere turned tense, murderous… and strangely bizarre.
Matthew looked calmly at the beautiful, dangerously seductive woman before him. Through Observation Haki, he could clearly sense the greed and hesitation within her.
And beneath that—
evil.
Darkness.
"You're a demon, aren't you?" Matthew spoke first, breaking the silence. Behind him, the people didn't even dare to breathe heavily.
Jennifer smiled, her eyes flowing with charm and false tenderness, every movent dripping with seductive allure.
"Are you that interested in ?"
Anyone unaware of the truth would have been utterly captivated by her.
But everyone here knew exactly what she was.
She wasn't a beautiful woman.
She was a female demon who devoured people whole.
Matthew's expression didn't change in the slightest. He remained completely unmoved, pushing his Observation Haki to its limit as he carefully sensed the truth of the woman before him.
Then the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.
"You devoured this woman's soul, didn't you?"
Jennifer blinked, then smiled again. "No. We beca one."
Her mood seed fairly good, so she answered without resistance.
"She is , and I am her."
Because of a failed ritual, she had manifested in the form of a curse, amplifying certain desires within the original owner of this body.
As Jennifer's desires grew stronger and stronger, desire itself beca the bridge that allowed the demon's soul to completely take over the body.
As for the original Jennifer's soul—
naturally, it had already been devoured.
In that sense, what she said about "becoming one" wasn't entirely false.
Matthew nodded lightly. "That's good."
Jennifer frowned slightly. "What do you an?"
"It ans," Matthew said, his smile deepening, "I can skip the troubleso part."
In the next instant, the deep brown of his pupils was swallowed by crimson.
A monstrous pressure exploded outward from him like a tidal wave.
Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!
Black-red lightning burst into existence from thin air, tearing across the air as his overwhelming Conqueror's Haki erupted violently and swept across the entire battlefield.
Black-red lightning exploded wildly, tearing across the battlefield and blasting craters into the ground and the surrounding buildings.
Boom! Boom!
At the sa ti, the shock triggered the buried landmines and grenades in the traps nearby. Fire and explosions erupted instantly, spreading in all directions.
Bathed in the glow of flas, Matthew looked like a god descending upon the mortal world.
Jennifer's originally seductive expression changed drastically.
That overwhelming, tyrannical aura crashed violently into her soul.
For the first ti, she felt sothing impossible—her very soul was being shaken. Even her body seed to be slipping beyond her control.
"You!!"
Jennifer could hardly believe that such terrifying power was coming from a re human.
But before she could even recover from her shock, Matthew's figure vanished.
In the blink of an eye, he was already standing in front of her.
It was too fast to react to—
No.
It wasn't that she couldn't react. It was that the monstrous pressure from his Conqueror's Haki had slamd into her soul so brutally that her mind itself had slowed.
Wrapped in crackling black lightning, Matthew looked less like a man and more like a devil descending into the world.
His fist—coated in tallic black Armant Haki and wrapped in black-red lightning—grew larger and larger in her vision.
That terrifying punch seed to shatter the air itself as it smashed heavily into her cheek.
Boom!!
The downward strike slamd Jennifer straight into the ground.
The earth cracked apart.
A thunderous explosion echoed through the sky as Jennifer was driven deep into the ground. Dense fractures spread outward like a spiderweb, while endless black-red lightning burst violently inside the crater.
The entire town trembled from that single punch.
Shockwaves surged in every direction like a natural disaster.
Nearby buildings were hit by the force; windows shattered instantly, glass exploding outward and raining down.
The people behind Matthew couldn't withstand that terrifying impact at all. They were blown off their feet, thrown backward onto the ground, many crashing hard into walls.
Screams filled the air, adding even more danger to this battle that clearly did not belong to mortals.
It was as though reality itself was declaring one truth—
ordinary humans weren't even qualified to witness a fight of this level.
Buried in the shattered ground, Jennifer felt sharp pain spread through her body.
It was physical pain.
But she didn't care.
To a demon, pain of the flesh ant almost nothing.
This level of injury could barely even be called damage.
What truly shocked her was sothing else—
this level of power… belonged to a human.
And that strange force, that bizarre power wrapped in black-red lightning… she had never seen anything like it before.
Before she could think further, Matthew reached down, grabbed her by the throat, and lifted her straight out of the crater.
Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!
His pitch-black right hand, wrapped in flashing black-red lightning, clamped tightly around her long, pale neck.
The sheer force in his grip felt as though it could crush her throat at any mont.
But then—
a dark, evil aura rose from Jennifer's body, pushing back against the force of his hand and preventing him from tightening further.
Jennifer raised a delicate brow, looking almost smug.
"You can't kill ."
Her lips curved upward.
"No one can kill . Everything you do is aningless."
Demons were a very special kind of existence.
In the human world, unless one possessed overwhelmingly powerful strength, it was almost impossible to truly erase a demon.
Unless a specific ritual targeting the demon itself was perford—or unless one knew the demon's true na—at best, they could only be banished.
That was a rule.
Matthew was strong.
Very strong.
But in terms of truly killing a demon, it still wasn't enough.
Even if this body was destroyed, her soul itself would remain untouched.
Matthew looked at her calmly.
"Then let's test that."
The mont his quiet voice fell, he exerted force again.
Explosive black-red lightning erupted violently, forcibly shattering the evil energy that had begun creeping up his arm.
Then, with another burst of strength, he hurled Jennifer violently into the distance.
Boom—
The air itself exploded from the force.
