Luke continued walking as he replied, "I'm just curious. Has anyone ever actually seen a soul ascend to Heaven after death? And who told you this? A bishop? The Pope? Or the Bible itself?"

"Don't misunderstand. I'm rely curious, nothing more."

No, you absolutely an sothing else!

Burke rolled his eyes internally, though he did not dare say it aloud.

At that mont, however, Irene found Luke's words strangely reasonable and looked toward Burke, making him feel awkward.

"Don't ask . I don't know either."

"But teachings passed down for thousands of years must have so truth to them."

"Besides... regardless of what happens after death, we are genuinely performing exorcisms right now."

Wong nodded in agreent. "That's true. Whether souls are dragged into Hell or taken away by the God of Death after death, while we're alive, we still have to fight these beings from other dinsions to the very end."

Burke gave Wong a grateful smile, but then suddenly realized sothing was off.

Wait, it was either Hell or the God of Death. Why wasn't Heaven even an option?

So Kamar-Taj did not believe the Lord existed?

Irene realized this as well and suddenly began to hesitate about becoming a nun.

If the Lord truly did not exist, then what was the point of becoming a nun?

What aning would it have?

And how would she serve the Lord in the future?

Sensing the confusion and hesitation in Irene's heart, Burke quickly said, "God is great and holy. He will protect every believer who remains faithful to Him."

Irene looked thoughtful, but when she glanced at the ruined convent around them, she could not help asking, "Then... were these nuns not devout enough?"

"Uh..."

Burke instantly found himself speechless. He had completely trapped himself with his own words.

Luke and Wong nearly burst out laughing.

Luke did not believe that God was still present, while Wong had never encountered a Dinsional Demon God that could truly be called God.

Perhaps such a being had once existed, but now the gods had abandoned this land, and the lofty Pantheon had long since beco isolated from the world.

If God were truly omnipotent, why would He remain hidden within the Pantheon, unwilling to reveal Himself?

In the end, people could only rely on themselves.

"They're here."

Just as the atmosphere beca increasingly awkward, Luke arrived at a dark intersection.

The passage ahead was extrely narrow, seemingly leading directly underground.

As soon as Luke spoke, figures began flickering within the distant shadows.

They all wore black nun habits, their faces completely hidden beneath their hoods as they desperately blended into the darkness.

As if sensing the presence of the living, the group of nun corpses suddenly began moving in unison and charged frantically toward Luke.

"In the na of God, protect from harm!"

Terrified, Irene imdiately began praying to God for protection.

Feeling that was still not enough, she quickly continued with another prayer.

"Hail Mary, rciful Lord, God is with you!"

Just as Irene prayed, a brilliant golden light tore through the darkness.

Painful shrieks echoed from the evil spirits, and the nun corpses corrupted by demons were instantly engulfed in Holy Fire and burned to ashes.

Irene froze for a mont before crying out in delight, "Did God intervene? Is this the Fire of God?"

"This is Holy Light, but not God's Holy Light. Of course, you may treat as a god if you wish. I don't mind gaining another faithful nun as a servant."

Luke spoke calmly, faint Holy Light still lingering within his palm.

Although it was not the Holy Light born from faith in God, this Holy Light, generated from powerful personal conviction and rooted in the power of origin, still possessed a strong restraining effect against evil spirits.

Irene stared at the Holy Light in fascination. "Can we also possess this Holy Light?"

"Of course."

Luke smiled and, under Father Burke's increasingly grim expression, said, "I will not monopolize this glory. Nor do I demand as much as God does. Whether you believe in or not, as long as you earn my recognition, you may obtain this glory."

"Of course, to acquire this power, you must possess an unwavering conviction within your heart."

"An unwavering conviction?"

Irene thought of the Bible and the heroic monts described in myths and legends.

Saving the world. Fighting for the Lord.

However...

"Yes. An absolutely unwavering conviction. It could be loving one person forever, protecting soone, or upholding justice and fighting against darkness."

"Or even slaughter. As long as your conviction remains absolute and unshakable, the Holy Light will continue to grow stronger, granting you the extraordinary power to shatter darkness."

Irene gasped softly. This Holy Light sounded completely different from what she had heard before.

"If you've made up your mind, you can tell ."

Luke clenched his right hand, gathering an imnse mass of Holy Light that resembled a miniature sun, before smashing through the heavy door ahead with a single punch.

Inside the room stood the Nun, her face pale with a sickly greenish tint.

Not far away lay Mordo, Kaecilius, and the other sorcerers from Kamar-Taj.

All of them were sprawled across the ground with their eyes tightly shut. The faint rise and fall of their chests showed that they were still alive.

But their condition was extrely dire.

Protected by the Seal of the Vishanti, they had barely avoided being hard by the Nun.

However, they had already fallen into the Nun's illusion. If no one arrived soon, they would either be killed by the evil spirit or beco the first senior masters in Kamar-Taj history to starve to death.

That, in its own way, would also leave their nas in history.

"Mordo! Kaecilius!"

Wong's expression changed slightly. The mont the Nun looked toward him, he felt a wave of malicious intent lock onto his body.

Without hesitation, Wong conjured a massive protective shield, guarding everyone behind him.

The Nun slowly swept her gaze across the group before finally stopping on Irene.

She sensed a familiar aura coming from Irene.

It was the bloodline of Saint Lucy.

A natural vessel for possession.

As long as she could successfully possess Irene, she would regain even greater power and reign supre among humans once more.

Irene felt deeply uncomfortable under the Nun's gaze and instinctively moved closer to Luke.

Bathed in the protection of the Holy Light, all feelings of malice instantly disappeared.

Irene beca increasingly captivated by the Holy Light.

Compared to the distant and intangible Lord, this "god," a ssenger of Holy Light who walked among humans and could be seen at any ti, seed far more worthy of faith.

The Nun also noticed Luke's uniqueness.

Before she could make a move—

Luke suddenly let out a thunderous shout that filled her with shock and terror.

"Valak, return to Hell!"
