(Myra’s POV)
’Uhhh~ .... what an exhausting day it has been,’ after taking a quick, warm shower, I collapsed in my bed as a tiring groan escaped my mouth.
Adjusting under the quilt to get into a comfortable position, my right elbow brushed against sothing harsh, making hiss involuntarily. The wounds on both my elbows have more or less healed, but the irritation and a bit of swelling remain.
They were a constant reminder of what happened over the past few days and how ssy my life has been. It has been nothing short of nightmares, to be really honest.
I have been trying my best not to think too much about that, or rather ’them’, but one way or another, my mind keeps drifting there. I just can’t help it.
Now, with tomorrow’s dinner eting with Mr. and Mrs. Garcia at Crown Opulence, there is a high possibility that I may co across Nora. Even the thought of it feels heavy to , it makes my heart sink. No matter how much I say that I can face her with confidence, without any baggage, but coming face to face would be a different ball ga.
I don’t know what I would say to her, how she would react. Will she be upset? Angry maybe? Or she might pretend not to know . I don’t know anything, I don’t fucking know. But all of this keeps playing inside my mind like a broken record.
"Enough," I shook my head to disperse these overwhelming thoughts and decided to check my phone for a distraction. Earlier in the day, I noticed that countless random notifications were popping up from the college forum.
I clicked on the first one on the bar, which directed to the forum page.
What I saw made jump up in my bed imdiately, "Huhh? What the~ .... What is all this?" I almost yelled, but pulled my voice down in ti.
There were several photos of and that~ .... Alaric Everests, all of them seed to be taken from an angle where it seed like we were so couple. I swiped and swiped so more; each post was like that. Actually, most of them looked like I was the one trying to impose on him. In one image, I was even smiling widely while looking at him. "When the fuck did that happen? I~ .... would never ... smile like that~ .... At least not in front of him." I am sure of this.
Then, I made an unwise decision to look at the comnts section. All of the comnters were bashing . Their remarks were so colorful, crude, and full of obscenities that I couldn’t even read them. So were in my favor as well, but what the hell was even this? This is pure~ .... arghhhhh~ ...
Looking closely, the pictures seed clearly photoshopped, but seeing that made my blood boil. I am well aware there are lots of people here who don’t like because of my social standing and simple background. They can’t stand my presence on the campus, but this~ .... this is plain nonsense and cruel. How can even people believe this crap? I was left stupefied by their sheer filthiness.
I left a ssage on the admin account to take the images off and signed out.
Even on the campus, on the forum, or in Esteria, the Everests brothers were shadowing like ghosts. "No~ ... not them again~ .... Myra, get a grip on yourself," I mumbled. "This~ .... shall pass as well. This will pass."
With this thought in mind, I checked the ti; it was nearing eleven.
"Let’s just sleep for now. I need to attend classes tomorrow and go see Fabian later," I muttered. Recalling Fabian, I haven’t been able to reach him at all. My calls went unanswered, nor did he reply to any of my texts. This has been bothering all day.
"Should I~ .... give him a call? Or will it be inappropriate to do that at this hour?" I contemplated, but in the end, I decided to go through with it.
The sound of ringing echoed, but like earlier, no one picked up the call. I tried once again. As the initial beeping started, a sudden, rattling sound startled .
Pulling the phone from my ear, I searched for the source. The persistent noise was coming from the tightly shut window. It seed the gentle pitter pattering of the rain had just started. I sighed in relief and resud what I was doing. Another call was left unanswered.
The signs were worriso. Though Yelena had told that he was fine and in a safe place, in the footage, he looked really gaunt and struggling. To ease the uneasiness, I need to talk to him.
With this thought, I tried calling him once again. But as the call was getting connected, a gust of wind unclasped the window. A blast of cold air made its way inside, making shiver.
The weather has been so unpredictable these days, I tell you.
Pushing the duvet aside, I walked towards the window barefoot, my phone close to my ear. I gazed outside; it was pitch black. The street light seed to have broken, so nothing could be seen.
Anyway, I tried to lock the casent, but it appeared to be stuck sowhere. Keeping the phone aside, I attempted to close it. But the left side wasn’t budging at all. I searched for the problem, and that’s when I realised the crank was stuck in the sill sohow.
I endeavoured to haul the crank forcefully, but it was jamd. With all my might, I pulled at it, which resulted in a tiny cut on my index finger. A sharp grunt slipped out from my lips. But thankfully, the stuck crank had co off.
I quickly closed the window and turned around to pick my phone. Coincidentally, it buzzed at that very mont, flashing a call from an unknown number.

(Author’s POV)
"Who will call at this hour?" Myra muttered under her breath, but no one ca to her mind.
In the middle of her pondering, the call ended. She didn’t think much of it and headed back to her bed when the window, which she had just latched, wide opened.
Myra pivoted and walked back. She was in the midst of closing the casent when her phone rang once more.
This ti, without checking the number, she tapped on the green button, turned on the speaker and kept it aside, "Hello~ ..." her voice ca out soft and casual. Then, she resud her mission to seal that obstinate thing.
But as soon as she pulled at it, she felt sothing odd. Her hand ca into contact with sothing alien. A hand, on hers. She was stunned to the core.
Before she could process what was that, a giant figure leapt inside her room, a reflexive yelp squealed out of her mouth, "Aaaahhh~ ...." She stumbled backwards, but two strong hands caught her in ti.
One covered her mouth while another was on the small of her back, keeping her secure in place. She peered at the person, her eyes widened with terror.
A familiar, relatively weak sound reverberated from the speaker, "Myra~ ... what happened? Are you~ ... are you okay? What was that sound?" It was Fabian.
But Myra couldn’t respond; her mouth was firmly clasped by the figure in front of her. He reached for her phone and disconnected the call.
Myra saw a slight chance and freed herself from his grasp, pushing him away, "What the hell are you doing in my room, Mr. Everests?" She spat.
Dion gazed at her terrified figure, feeling a pang in his heart. It wasn’t his intention to scare her off, but he had ended up doing that.
"Myra~ .... I wasn’t~ ... I wasn’t trying to startle you. I just~ ... wanted to~ check," he mumbled.
"Check, what the heck do you want to check? Don’t you know what boundaries are, Mr. Everests? Did you forget what I told you last ti?" Myra flared. After her fear subsided, rage enveloped her.
Dion glanced her way, "Do you really need to call that?"
Her phone began to buzz again, Fabian’s number illuminating the screen. She gave him a disgusted look and muttered, "I won’t say it again, so listen carefully. Leave, right now."
She was about to answer the call when Dion abruptly blurted, "Nora is in Esteria."
Myra paused her actions, but her expression remained composed. She looked him dead in the eye and spoke, "So what~ ....?"
Dion was taken aback by her eerie calmness. He and Drey had argued, and he had contemplated a lot before coming here, but he hadn’t expected this kind of reaction from her. "Did you~ .... already know about it?"
"And what if I did? What has that got to do with ? Now that you have said what you wanted to, get out. GET OUT before I call the cops on you for trespassing," she threatened, her
