(Author’s POV)

"Who were you talking to at this ti, Wendy?" William asked while mincing the veggies.

Wendy contemplated for a while whether to tell him or not. But she saw no harm, so she said, "It was~ .... Mr. Everests, asking where sis was."

"Mr. Everests, your new, temporary professor? Why will he ask for Myra?" he questioned, his brows furrowed.

Wendy clarified, "No, not him, dad. He is Prof. Dion Everests. The one who called was Mr. Alaric Everests, the one in the photos." Apparently, William and Sandra weren’t part of the campus forum, so they weren’t aware of the whole issue at first, but when they went to the cafeteria this morning, they heard it from their colleagues.

William beca more puzzled, "Why does he want to talk to Myra? Did he say anything?"

"Ummhmm~ ..." Wendy shook her head. "He seed to be in so urgency. So, I told him she is out and will return his call when she cos back ho. Ahhhh~ .... thinking of that, quite so ti has passed already. Why has sis not arrived yet?" she mumbled.

William glanced at the wall clock. It had been around half an hour or so since the call. "Wendy, give Myra a call and ask her where she is right now," he said.

Wendy did as she was told, but only the robotic sound reverberated, "The number you have dialled is currently switched off~ .... please call again later." She told William, who narrowed his eyes.

"Switch off? Try again," he uttered. Wendy called and put her phone on speaker, but it was the sa old thing. This made the atmosphere tense. It was already dark outside, dense clouds had started gathering as well, making it seem all the more ominous.

Sandra, who was inside her room, resting, ca out. "Will, Wendy, what are you both doing?" she asked, while massaging her temples. Ever since Myra left for dinner, she had been having migraine ache.

Wendy was about to tell her, but William interrupted, "Nothing .... we are just making so ginger soup. Why are you out here? Go and take a rest. Wendy~ .... Take your mother to the room." He then whispered gently, so that only Wendy could hear, "Don’t tell your mom about Myra."

Wendy nodded and took Sandra. William quickly washed his hands and made a call on Myra’s phone. It was still turned off. He then called Yelena.

After three to four rings, he answered, "Hello~ .... Uncle William."

"Yelena, is Myra with you? Are you both on your way ho?" he queried.

"Uhhh~ .... Myra, she isn’t with . She took a cab ho, Uncle William. Did she not arrive yet? It has been quite a while since she left here," she replied.

William’s hands clenched unconsciously. "She must be arriving." He said this more to himself than to her.

"Uncle~ ... my grandpa is calling for . I won’t be coming ho tonight. When Myra arrives, do ask her to give a call," Yelena said and then ended the call.

He waited for another ten minutes. While the soup simred in the pot, his eyes were glued to his phone and the ti. He couldn’t sit still now.

Taking his umbrella, he stepped out of the house to wait for his daughter. The rain had started to pitter patter now. He walked on the road so more, but there was no sign of any vehicle approaching. With each passing second, the anxiousness William was feeling only deepened.

All of a sudden, soone called for him, "Mr. Miracle?"

Raising his umbrella, he saw Fabian walking towards him, "Prof. Stephens."

"What are you doing outside, in such weather?" Fabian inquired.

"I am waiting for Myra," William told him.

"Myra? She hasn’t returned yet?" his brows furrowed. After leaving the ssage and getting no reply, Fabian was getting antsy, so he decided to co to her house.

William summarized the situation for him. Hearing it, Fabian felt sothing was definitely off. "I will look for her," he uttered and without waiting any longer and started sprinting back to the mansion. On his way, he called Gunnar, who instantly picked it up, "Hello, young master."

"Gunnar~ .... track Myra’s location and send it to imdiately," he commanded.

"Young master, can you tell , why are you~ ...." Gunnar said.

"JUST DO WHAT I SAID," Fabian spat.

"Yes, young master," he replied, his voice rigid, as he ended the call.

Fabian hopped inside his car and drove out of the mansion’s gate. Within a few minutes, Gunnar called him back, "Young master, Ms. Miracle’s last location was near the abandoned forest on the outskirts of the city, which was traced around thirty five minutes ago. Ever since then, her phone has been switched off."

Hearing Gunnar’s words, an unsettling feeling had started taking root inside Fabina’s heart.

"You have committed a grave sin. An utterly grave sin," the one on Myra’s left spoke, followed by a series of laughter from all three n.

"I have done nothing like that. Let go. I said, let go," Myra shouted, her eyes filling up with unshed tears.

The driver hissed, "Tskk~ .... you don’t understand the situation you are in right now, young lady. This won’t do. Larry, sew her mouth," he ordered.

Myra’s eyes were ready to bulge out of their sockets, hearing his words. She struggled in an attempt to break free, but of course, in front of such sturdy n, she lacked physical power, so it was all futile.

The one nad Larry taped her mouth while the other one tied up her hands behind her back with cable ties. She still vocalized, muffling sounds, while kicking her legs towards them. She was behaving like a fish out of water. She stomped on Larry’s foot and tried to elbow the other one. But failed again.

"This bitch is giving a headache, boss. Can I just~ ....?" he asked, as the driver gave him a nod.

Myra grappled to get her face away, shaking it like a mad person. She sure gave them a hard ti, but the one on her right slapped her hard, and the next second Larry covered Myra’s nose with a wet cloth, probably with Chloroform, "I didn’t want to use it, sweetie. But you~ forced to...."

Slowly and gradually, her endeavor faded little by little as her eyelids felt heavy. Her body loosened as she slumped into a deep slumber.
